Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
Still can't believe that they're holding back single-player content in Online Pass format. Pretty soon, every game will require an Internet connection and a new copy.
TheMightyEthan
While I agree that it's lame, it's kind of theoretical for me for 2 reasons: 1) I almost never buy used games unless they're really old, and 2) I've been playing PC games so long where the whole game is always locked by a code that I'm used to it anyway
Waldorf and Statler
well I rent games. So it's a shame I don't get to play as Catwoman, but I won't cry myself to sleep.
Strangelove
AA was awesome, but I feel like I can easily wait on AC to come down in price. I like AA a lot, but it still had some pretty big flaws(thankfully the positives outweighed the negatives) to me and I have no idea if they fixed them or not, so Ill wait to see what the consensus is. CorgiShinobi
Anyone receiving the Arkham City comic along with their game? I pre-ordered from Amazon, so I got the $10 credit and comic. GameTrailers says it's a prequel to the events of the game.

I would be in agreement with you, but I got Arkham Asylum for $1 in one of those GFWL sales, so that makes me more willing to pay more for the sequel since my total investment in the series is still pretty low. Buying AA for $1 and AC for $35 (through that Green Man Gaming deal) averages out to $18/game, and I'm happy with that.
Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
If any of you start playing this game before my campus mail gets sorted out at around 7:30 PM tonight, you will become my greatest enemy.
TheMightyEthan
It's not releasing until Nov 18 on PC. I was hoping to get it done before Halo: Anniversary, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, and Zelda: Skyward Sword all come out. Guess that's not happening... Hot Heart
Yeah, I saw it has been delayed another week. Grrr. People are guessing it's to avoid Skyrim. Not getting Skyrim but Uncharted 3 will probably be keeping me busy in the meantime.
Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
Since there will be so many of you buying it on PC instead of 360, I pledge to keep my Arkham City talk spoiler-free until November 26. I feel like that should give everyone enough time to finish the game and form thoughts about it. It will also give me the chance to speak rationally about it instead of posting "OMG GOTY THIS GAME IS THE NECTAR OF THE GODZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ".

deanb
Tesco have seemingly canned my Arkham City order. I've sent a message to them, hoping for a response at some point. Cos yeah I'll be a bit miffed if they've gone "Oh the release date changed, cancel all orders!". The other bugger is that part of the reason I have both Skyrim n Arkham City ordered through them was a pre-order two games offer. I now longer have two games pre-ordered so Skyrim has gone back up in price too :/
Hot Heart
Boh. I might cancel my pre-order with them anyway. It all depends on whether there is some clarification as to what this Carnival Challenge DLC is. Originally, sources were saying it added hours of content and then, last time I looked, peope were saying it is just some sort of endurance map. 'Cause if so, I'd rather have the Robin DLC and avoid the SteelBook.
TheMightyEthan
Well in theory an endurance map/mode adds infinite gameplay time to the game...
excel_excel
God damn it, a damn whole month for the PC version?.....during the most packed gaming month of the year?......fuck...may just get the PS3 version....maybe. Hot Heart
Well in theory an endurance map/mode adds infinite gameplay time to the game... They meant as in it functioned like a side mission. Which does sound wrong, since it says 'Map' in the DLC title.
excel_excel
Okay, okay I know Arkham Asylum had the PhysX stuff too, but fucksake, this is frankly just Nvidia buying better effects for Nvidia owners. Are you telling me my AMD card can't do fucking smoke? What a load of BS Edited October 18, 2011 by excel_excel

deanb
You'll probably find that without GTX is still a Nvidia card, just low end. ATi users can use PhysX, just not through a GPU, thus they better have one hell of a decent CPU to be on-par with a GPGPU.

I can't seem to find any info on my CPU being Physx compatible, its a AMD Phenom II X4...I don't get it
Hot Heart
It won't be able to take full advantage of PhysX if it's AMD, I think. Best test I know of is to download the Arkham Asylum demo and turn it on there. If it doesn't slow the framerate down to a crawl then you're all good. deanb
CPU's are by default "PhysX compatible". They're just really really shit at it, so it's usually not a good idea. Nvidia bought Ageia/PhysX nearly 4 years ago, it's not like its exclusivity is an unknown factor (And before then you need a PPU, so an ATi user was still out of luck). ATi suck in the features dept with a bonus of being cheaper. Want CUDA n PhysX? Buy a Nvidia. Want weird graphical glitches? Buy an ATi
