CorgiShinobi
I've had my copy of Arkham City sitting on my desk the entire day. However, I've got one hell of a midterm coming up this week. So much so that I haven't bothered to read the Arkham City comic. I'm only on here for a little break. Waldorf and Statler
Yeah I have an exam tomorrow and a homework due friday. Tomorrow after class I'm getting home around 1 and doing the hw. Afterwards if I have time I'll play the game.
Hot Heart
OK, after seeing this, definitely want the Robin DLC instead. http://uk.ign.com/vi...?objectid=55051 EDIT: Well, actually, looking at my pre-order I think I'll stick with Tesco because I got a great deal and GAME's price is ridiculous. Plus, I know the pre-order DLC is all going to be available to buy at some point. Edited October 19, 2011 by Hot Heart
Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
Holy crap. Holy crap. HOLY CRAP. I want to say something about what I just witnessed, but I can't. Shame, as it's completely surprising and awesome.

Waldorf and Statler
Well I feel cheapened out. I can't use the Batman Beyond costume till I beat it once. Also, playing the game in hard mode is awesome, but these first few times I'm getting my ass kicked while I experiment with trying to get critical hits. Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
I'm both excited and scared at the prospect of the difficulty hike in New Game +. I've always heavily relied on the Counter symbols flashing above the heads, so removing those may make things a little too chaotic.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, I thought the difficulty spike sounded cool, until I heard the counter symbols were gone. Then again, I'm terrible at game combat systems that have any kind of depth. I never get beyond button-mashing stage.
Hot Heart
Hard always took away the Counter signs, I think. New Game + does that as well as mixing in harder enemy variations. Fortunately, it looks like Arkham City does give you a bit more health or at least more ways to 'control' a fight.
Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
Yep. There are several new gadgets I've used to distract and immobilize enemies. And some of the new special moves you can unleash when you fill the meter are pretty fantastic.

Maybe it did in the first game, but in this game what defines hard is stronger and more ruthless baddies. I see the little spider-sense-esque symbol to counter all the time. Chances are, I am remembering it wrong in the first game. Thanks for the info!
Waldorf and Statler
Anybody know how to make the phones to ring? Am I just supposed to fly around the city until they ring? If you don't know what happens with the phones yet, don't read the spoiler. I want to find Victor and kick his ass. Nobody talks like that to Batman. Are you guys speaking like Batman throughout the game as well? I'm going everywhere with my Dark Knight deep voice screaming "JUSTICE" and "BATMAN POWER"
Hot Heart
Tesco appear to think there has been a delay sending out my Arkham City (PC) order and that it will be despatched 'Next Working Day from 22 Oct 2011'. They had better not be sending me the console version... I mean, they'd already emailed me about the new release date. Hopefully just some small error in sending an email and they've not done anything...
CorgiShinobi
I finally got to play Arkham City last night... NERDGASM! Seriously, Asylum's opening was pretty good, but City's opening really threw a curve ball. Oh my... every time I do something "Batman," I have the strongest urge to yell out "I'M BATMAN!" It's that great of a game!
Waldorf and Statler
I'm already halfway through the main campaign. But with all the time I've spent doing side missions and collecting Riddler trophies, I've spent a LOT of time playing this game. Like I spent the majority of today playing it, I've been obsessed with it. God damn those Riddler Trophies. Oh and by the way, this game is Batman perfection. Pretty much all the important batman bad guys are here in one way or the other. Dr. Freeze is all LIKE A BAUSS. Every side mission is incredibly awesome. Some require the majority of the time doing "investigation" but then again, you ARE the world's greatest detective. Oh and Robin actually appears in the story mode! Even if it's just for one cutscene I almost splooged all over the floor. If Nightwing appears as well I'll just about have a heart attack

Cos I too have that email and I still have Arkham City not down as a game I've ordered. I'm gonna hit them back up again, this is getting silly. I'm gonna hit them back up again, this is getting silly. Yeah, my order's still there. Had to select 'Last three months' in the Order History because I had forgotten I'd ordered way back at the end of August. They've 'moved' the despatch back again though: 'Next Working Day from 24 Oct 2011'
CorgiShinobi
I didn't realize at first that you had to manually track Zsasz's calls. Most of the time Batman does things automatically. I hope there are not a limited amount of stories, or at least they repeat because I've had (I think) five calls and I'm at 35%.
Waldorf and Statler
I realized it after the first call... and it took me about five or six calls to be able to locate him. And I've already beaten the game and pretty much know all of its hints for the sequel if anybody is interested. And just to be clear Atomsk... Nightwing is only in challenge rooms not in the story. CorgiShinobi
Alright, I'm at 48% and I think the last one was my fifth call. It looks like, knowing his story, he might have a few more excerpts. Of course, I guess Zsasz could go on about some of his significant kills, and it's not like he doesn't have 143 kills, right? Oh, but what made me log back on after playing tonight... Frickin' Ra's Al Ghul boss fight, a.k.a. OMG THAT WAS INTENSE AND I'VE GOT HAPPINESS IN MY SOUL!
