CyberToyger
Seeing as how today is the 18th; Day 01 - Your first video game - Super Mario Bros. (NES) Day 02 - Your favourite character - I have too many favorites; old-skool Sonic, Gordon Freeman, Alyx Vance, Felicia, Taokaka, Katt, Mew, Mewtwo, Beef...Pikachu, ...I'll stop there XD Day 03 - A game that is underrated - Trine Day 04 - Your guilty pleasure game - Trickster Online Day 05 - Game character you feel you are most like (or wish you were) - Not a specific character but a Beast Tribe Laguz from Fire Emblem or maybe a Mithra from Final Fantasy :3 If I had to stay away from the cat fetish, then Joe Barbaro from Mafia 2. Day 06 - Most annoying character - Day 07 - Favourite game couple- Mario & Luigi. ...OH F*CK.. you mean like.. dating/lovey-dovey couple.. scratch that!.. Gotta go with Alyx + Gordon Day 08 - Best soundtrack - The old-skool Sonic series as a whole Day 09 - Saddest game scene - A bunch of times in Heavy Rain Day 10 - Best game play - tied between Super Smash Bros. Melee and L4D2 Day 11 - Gaming system of choice - PC Day 12 - A game everyone should play - Black Mesa Source... once it freakin comes out! Day 13 - A game you've played more than five times - Sonic the Hedgehog 2; Left 4 Dead 2; Super Mario Bros. 1 + 3; Super Mario 64; Pokemon Red + Blue + Yellow Day 14 - Current (or most recent) gaming wallpaper - Day 15 - Post a screen shot from the game you're playing right now - Day 16 - Game with the best cut scenes - Lets talk about pre-rendered scenes instead; Blur Studio is God-tier when it comes to CGI. <3 Day 17 - Favourite antagonist - GLaDOS, f*ck all the haters who call 'overrated' on this just because its Portal. :3 Day 18 - Favourite protagonist - either Ethan Mars or Norman Jayden. Ethan Mars is the best dad ever, though his children were born with Derp-itis, obviously from their mother. Norman Jayden is the epic underdog and such a softie by default. He's also got those bitchin' A.R.I. sunglasses.. I freakin want those!!
McBeeferton
Day 01 - Your first video game - Pokemon Yellow Version Day 02 - Your favourite character - I don't really know. I suppose I like Red most of all from the Pokemon games. Non protagonist would probably have to be Cynthia. As for non Pokemon: Kirby, KOS-MOS, Kite, that guy you play in Harvest Moon, John Marston, GLaDOS, and Captain Mother-Fucking Falcon. Day 03 - A game that is underrated - A handful of games I play. I'll just list Boktai for the hell of it. Day 04 - Your guilty pleasure game - Anything cartoony. Harvest Moon, for example. I love that shit, but it's a little embarrassing if someone's watching. Day 05 - Game character you feel you are most like (or wish you were) - *shrugs* Any typical emo character with no friends and/or life. A character I wish I was? Fffff- So many I could name. Any character is more interesting than I am. I wish I could be as cool as Ocelot from Metal Gear Solid. Day 06 - Most annoying character - Silibus and Gaspard in .Hack//G.U. Gaspard is kinda cute, at least, but RAEGGG! Day 07 - Favourite game couple - Red and his Pikachu. ;D Day 08 - Best soundtrack - Pretty much anything 8/16-bit and the soundtrack from the .hack games, as well as Shadow of the Colossus, obviously. I don't know why so many like Red Dead Redemption's soundtrack, though... Day 09 - Saddest game scene - "That" scene in Red Dead Redemption. You know the one. Fuckin' brutally awesome and really sad at the same time. Day 10 - Best game play - *shrugs* Day 11 - Gaming system of choice - Any Nintndo console that's pre-Gamecube. NES, SNES, N64, Gameboy, etc. Day 12 - A game everyone should play - Tetris, of course. Day 13 - A game you've played more than five times - Mass Effect, Portal, Pokemon Yellow, Crystal, and Ruby; uhhh... I think that's it, actually. Day 14 - Current (or most recent) gaming wallpaper - Day 15 - Post a screen shot from the game you're playing right now - Day 16 - Game with the best cut scenes - *shrugs* I'm partial to the ones in .Hack//G.U. and Xenosaga, I guess. Day 17 - Favourite antagonist - GLaDOS :3 Day 18 - Favourite protagonist - RED from Pokemon, of course. Day 19 - Picture of a game setting you wish you lived in - Xenosaga? That universe seems pretty interesting, I guess. Day 20 - Favourite genre - I guess I'm an RPG/Adventurer. Day 21 - Game with the best story - *shrugs* Day 22 - A game sequel which disappointed you - Halo 2? Day 23 - Game you think had the best graphics or art style - *shrugs* Day 24 - Favourite classic game - Define "classic". I like a lot of old games and choosing a favorite would be difficult. I really love Kirby's Adventure for the NES, though. The first game for the NES I ever beat. Day 25 - A game you plan on playing - I guess Skyrim. It seems interesting. Unsure about Mortal Kombat even though it looks good. Fuck all that pre-order and exclusive character bullshit. Day 26 - Best voice acting - *shrugs* Definitely NOT Just Cause 2, though. Day 27 - Most epic scene ever - I can't think of one. D: Day 28 - Favourite game developer - Mojang? Say what you will about Minecraft and all that, I just like the people at Mojang. They're cool-sauce. Day 29 - A game you thought you wouldn't like, but ended up loving - Fallout 3. I pirated that game like three times before I finally decided to buy it. Day 30 - Favourite Handheld Game - Difficult. Pokemon Yellow or Boktai. Runner ups: Advance Wars and Golden Sun Runner-Runner Up: Phoenix Wright: Justice for All Day 31 - A game you thought you would like, but ended up hating? - Guitar Hero 3 ...Fuckin' bombs. Day 32 - Game you play for fun - Rock Band 3, I guess. I don't game much anymore but I still pop in RB3 for a little bit of fun and good music... Day 33 - Your favourite Movie Game - That semi-recent Ghostbusters game? Does that count? I can't think of any movie games at the moment other than that. I hear it was pretty good and the demo wasn't all that bad. Day 34 - The Game You Can Quote Best - Portal. I'm ashamed to say it. Those GLaDOS quotes are just too memorable. P4: Gritty Reboot
Great post, Beefy. It is as if you looked into the face of God Himself and He said, "You are my most wondrous creation."

TheFlyingGerbil
erm, "press start" is about the most I can quote - but it covers a lot of games!

Faiblesse Des Sens
Kind of cliche but I definitely think it's become the modern answer for a very good reason: Amnesia.
Mr W Phallus
Well I haven't really played many actual horror games, but the game that always got me most on edge was Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb. Specifically towards the end of the first level where you have to jump into the water with the crocodiles and especially the final giant unkillable crocodile which can kill you in one bite and you're never sure how close it is behind you. Thursday Next
Siren - Bloodcurse. When you play as the girl while your creepy possessed uncle and some other scary possessed folk stalk you around some decrepit old hospital or summink. You're utterly defenceless. Scary as all hell. deanb
I don't play scary games, so I'd say Half-Life 2 Ravenholm. Or Bioshock too I guess.

McBeeferton
Amnesia, I guess. I played FEAR and that game wasn't scary at all. It relied on "cheap scares". Amnesia, however, chills you to your bone. Also, I don't see why people are so scared of Bioshock. Those splicers are kind of creepy and the atmosphere isn't bad, but I don't have any fear when playing it. ...Maybe it's because the enemies are pretty easy to kill and I feel like a GOD with all my plasmids. TheMightyEthan
Resident Evil on the Gamecube, though really I think "tense" is a better descriptor than "scary" for how it felt to me. My other candidate was Dead Space (which Resident Evil blew out of the water once I remembered it), but again, it wasn't "scary" so much as "tense". There were also some flashbacks in F.E.A.R. that I found unsettling, but I still wouldn't call the game as a whole "scary" (or even "tense"), since it was only the flashbacks that had that feeling. Like Dean though I don't play many horror games, so I don't have a lot to choose from.
AgamemnonV2
Silent Hill. The creepy little flesh children with butcher knives still gives me the creeps.

That reminds me of the fun Challenge runs we used to do on the GameFAQs board for the game, like No Saves, No Materia, etc. It's interesting just how easy that game actually is when you manage to beat it with LV1 Limit Breaks Only. MetalCaveman
Condemned 2, not a fan of horror games, and I haven't played the Gamecube version of Resident Evil so I don't know how it compares.

I did get really scared at that mutated thing that you can't kill but chases you....oh god.....*shudders* Its either Resi for Cube or Project Zero (Fatal Frame) 2. That one was pure terror. McBeeferton
Movies are terrible at being scary. At least with a game you're playing from the perspective of a character, and you're more submerged into the atmosphere.
P4: Gritty Reboot
No one game actually gives me the creeps; it's certain creatures or enemies within the games that always get me. A few memorable moments: Dark Forces: the sewer creature. These guys growl underwater in the distance and then pop up right in front of your face. I've quit many DF sessions back to DOS because of these little cuties. Half-Life: barnacles, head crabs, ichtyosaurs. This game still has some of the best skeletal animation I've seen. And yeah, for some reason they scare me more in HL1 than HL2. Arx Fatalis: spiders. Yeah, frickin' guys creep up on ya with no warning. Still can't play this game much due to these. CorgiShinobi
Truly my greatest shame because of how much of an idiot I was to believe I was purchasing a quality title. Years ago I was really into racing games like Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 and Burnout. At the time it looked like it might be an interesting take on the racing genre... NO! Even the videos of women dancing were terrible! Well, there was actually one attractive woman, but I guess she had enough class not to be such a whore on camera and so she had fewer videos. EDIT: Found a replacement image. Edited April 20, 2011 by Atomsk88
