Yo Bloodstained is goooood fun. I don't love grinding for loot in most genres, but I can absolutely get a Metroidvania grind on. So much to collect, cook, and craft.

Boy. The ending of Mario Odyssey is the most Sonic the Hedgehog thing ever. Pop rock song + running through exploding level + making last 10 minutes revolve around a new game mechanic never before introduced.

Switch observations after a day with it and BOTW: The tablet feels well-made, though I can't get the kickstand to work. Everything else in the box feels extraordinarily cheap, from the joy cons to the laughably terrible base. I mean, the tablet just seems to lay loosely in the base, which just seems wrong when every other connection between two electronic devices in my life has involved snug fits. Also no wired ethernet port is super ridiculous. The joy cons are uncomfortable except in the controller unit. I'm also not used to the analog sticks, which makes it hard to steer Link across narrow bridges or along tree branches. I don't feel like a pro controller is worth studying more than 20 bucks on. 32 GB system memory is 100% hot bullshit. Guess I need to buy a decent sized microSD card. The portability is amazing. BOTW is very charming and promises a lot of good exploration of interesting physical spaces and game systems. I think I'll be using this for exclusives and indies.

I've just realised the new Mordor game comes out in a couple weeks, and I can now 'easily' afford new games again. A bad combo
