  1. Latter half of the season is definitely better. All of the supporting characters are what makes OITNB so good. Piper, and the guy from American Pie, are both pretty terrible characters - Piper is second only to Ted from HIMYM as my most disliked lead character in otherwise good shows list. Bad Girls was awesome.
  2. Consoles. Oh I also had a megadrive.
  3. Got this yesterday. Only level 6, playing as a Titan. Don't think I'm going to get bored of punching enemies to death anytime soon.
  4. FIFA (until I rage quit) Football Manager (until I rage quit)
  5. Destiny and FIFA 15. I skip a FIFA per year so went 11 - 13 - 15. Wanted Destiny. PS4 bundle of the three and the Last of Us Remastered for a decent price, so I bought it. Destiny is amazing.
  6. My parents bought my brother and I a NES. I don't really remember much about it except my dad stayed up all night to beat a Bugs Bunny game, and the Ninja Turtles game was an asshole. We then got a PSX, with World Cup 98, Crash Bandicoot and TOCA Touring Cars. I loved all three of those games. Blah blah Final Fantasy IX blah blah. PS2 came next, closely followed by an XBOX. Always preferred the PS2, but Fable was a masterpiece. I also got an original Gameboy before I got the PSX! Brother hated me because of it. Pokemon Blue was great. Next came the GBA, and Fire Emblem Sacred Stones! Then I got a PSP - only really remember playing GTA and FIFA on it. I got a DS Lite - yay for Pokemon and somesuch other games (slightly worried I can't remember what else I played) PS3 came next - never had much interest in a 360. Uncharted 2 memories with the PXODers <3 3DS XL was a purchase for Pokemon X. Bought a PS4+Destiny+FIFA 15 yesterday. Main gaming memories are: FFIX FFIV FFVIII FFX Fifa in various forms Pro Evo for a bit International Cricket Captain! Gran Turismo 2 Spyro the Dragon Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 Guitar Hero Uncharted 2 WWE games in various guises. Fire Emblems (7 and 8, plus the GameCube one - brother owned the GameCube) Halo 2+3 at friends houses. Warcraft 3 Battle for Middle Earth! Rambling on a bit but yeah. Lots of games. Lots of consoles. Mainly Sony, though.
  7. I played Smallworld for the second time this week. It was much better than last time I played it. I won. I think. One of the guys I was playing with was being a bit of a bellend and was supposed to have given me 5 points from the box but he fucked around and I don't actually know if I got the points or not. So dependent on that = whether I won or not.
  8. Yeah but not when you're having the game explained to you - he was teaching us and the best way to teach, imo, is not to absolutely destroy someone.
  9. I have an irrational hatred of Dominion based purely on the fact that when I played the base game with a friend who owned it, he absolutely destroyed me. The base game has one ridiculously good strategy which is easy to execute and if you play it you are almost certain to win. Where's the fun in that? Apparently the expansions improve it, but ehh
  10. Currently reading American Psycho by Brett Easton Ellis. I've watched the film, but hadn't read the book. Finished Neil Gaiman's "Ocean at the End of the Lane," and my re-read of "American Gods" as I'm going to a signing with him in a couple of weeks.
  11. This place has just opened in Oxford. Was there today. £3.50 for as much gaming as you want + obviously coffee and such costs. Plan on spending a lot of time there.
  12. I like 7 Wonders but I still maintain that a lot of it is luck-based. You can have a strategy in mind, but if your neighbour doesn't hand you the cards you need, it will all fall apart.
  13. Ticket To Ride - The Beatles I assume. Discworld is quite a lot of fun - it's a combination of board dominance and card playing.
  14. Hello gents. Since I last posted, my (and my gf's) game collection has increased dramatically. We now own: Munchkin Cthulu. I purchased this a long time ago, probably my Second Year at uni, because I played the original Munchkin and loved it so much. Cthulu Munchkin is fine, but adds unnecessarily complex rules, and I don't like it as much as the original. Plus, the fact it requires more than 2 people to play properly means it rarely gets an airing. Arkham Horror. Possibly the most cuntish of games we own. It's needlessly complicated (it takes roughly 15-30 minutes to actually set up), and there is a distinct possibility you'll lose within the first two or three turns. Despite this, if you're willing to stick with it (our longest game was six hours!), it's a lot of fun, and finally winning is very satisfying. It's a co-op game too. Pirate Fluxx. Fluxx, but with Pirates. Fun and fast paced. Gloom. Depressing storytelling card game, where the object is to make your family as miserable as possible and then kill them all off. The best part of the game is using the prompts on the cards to lovingly craft a story which will make your characters feel as bad as possible. I cannot recommend this enough. A Game of Thrones: The Card Game. Only played this once, and was left incredibly disappointed by it. Could be because we only played it with two players, but it just didn't feel fun. Ticket to Ride: Europe. Ticket to Ride, just set in Europe, with tunnels and ferries for added fun. I really enjoy playing Ticket to Ride, so this is a fun little game to play. Discworld: Ankh-Morpork. I'm sure I'd enjoy this more if I got the references, but it's a fun game where you all have your own agenda, and are trying to use the cards and board to further the agenda. Plus games where you dick over your friends are always fun. Braggart. A card game where you are essentially trying to outboast your friends' stories. Ridiculous amounts of fun and really hilarious. I highly recommend. Thunderstone Advance: Towers of Ruin. A deck building game where you are trying to defeat monsters in a dungeon. Slow to get started, a pain in the arse to get set up, but a lot of fun when you're actually playing it. Reminds me of Dominion, but I find this more fun. Bodgermania. Goblin wrestling crossed with Trumps. A lot of fun, and very fast paced and easy to pick up. Carcassonne. A classic, and a nice calm, soothing game. Most recent purchase. We have this problem where we go into a games shop to browse and end up spending ridiculous amounts of money. The worrying thing is, we rarely have more than just the two of us to play, so it limits the fun you can have .
  15. My lady and I have been playing a few board games recently - culminating in us buying Arkham Horror from Waterstones. It's a lot of fun, even if it was a slog to get through the first couple of games whilst we were learning the mechanics. She's also just bought Gloom and Ticket To Ride: Europe, neither of which I've played, and both of which I'm looking forward to playing when I next see her.
  16. Issak was the best part of S7, but S7 suffered from the writers having premature ejaculation everytime something good was about to happen. They pulled the trigger on stuff far too quickly, and most of it was anti-climatic.
  17. ^ My best ever result was the first run - I was so close to the end of the boss fight before getting destroyed. If I had survived that final volley I'd have won
  18. I just finished Ready Player One. It's quality.
  19. They have to come back to that ending with what happened to Solomon. It's so uncharacteristic, it needs to be a major plot point.
  20. Team Dignitas and Curse.na have been DQed from the MLG Raleigh after colluding to fix the final and share the prize fund. Oh esports.

  21. I just got Demon's Souls. Man this game is tough.

Okay I beat the Phalanx. I ran the fuck away from the dragon that was in that level though. Fuck that shit.

Still finding the lock on difficult to aim though.

    4. Faiblesse Des Sens

      Faiblesse Des Sens

That's because you don't aim, you lock on. Though yeah, it's not the best lock on from what I remember of the first game. You might need to be closer to and more "pointed" at what you're trying to lock on than you think.

  22. I dunno whether to play FF6, 7 or 8 next? I've finished 8 before, got a way through 6 and barely played, but for no real reason dislike, 7. Eventually I'll play them all through, just wanna know what I should play next.

      FF6. Always FF6.

      But yeah, Chrono Trigger also.

Huh. Popping between the PSX FFVI rerelease and the SNES one they changed a fair bit of the wording just within the first part of conversation. Making me wonder if worth playing SNES one (better emulator) or PSX one (more polish)

    4. Faiblesse Des Sens

      Faiblesse Des Sens

IIRC, the original translation was actually crap, so they fixed it up.

  23. What is it you struggled with?
  24. The rules aren't that complex....which version were you playing? My gf bought Pirate Fluxx yesterday. Such a good, simple card game.
  25. Walt is a creepy motherfucker. Breaking Bad is awesome. The first episode of the new series was fantastic. The second was more expositiony.
