  1. Or we all knew it was April 1st.
  2. I want SSX when I get my loan in, is it good?
  3. Fixed, and no, I posted past noon, therefore not a joke. Not a fan of Dragon Age 2?
  4. Bought it from GAME, preowned.
  5. Harry Potter does get quite dark, but I am surprised they managed to get away with so much. I guess there was no real blood seen, or swearing. It sticks faithfully to the book too, which is good. Only a few things changed/cut.
  6. I love Ralph "Me fail English, that's unpossible" "Thank you Supernintendo Chalmers."
  7. PXOD Google-doccers, can you go read my article and help me make improvements please? Thanks

Which one is it? The 'Books that should' one?

      Yes. It's not very good.

  8. And Maggie Makes Three is a nice episode I feel.
  9. Currently making my way through the old series of the Simpsons, y'know, when it was good? It's ridiculous how good it was. So many quotable lines. What's your favourite Simpsons quote/quotes? "CompuGlobalHyperMegaNet, Junior Vice President Homer Simpson speaking, how may I direct your call?" "Who keeps Atlantis off the map? Who keeps the Martians under wraps? We doo..." The entire Stonecutters episode is fabulous "Knife goes in, guts come out...." "You'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel" "Can't sleep, clown will eat me." "It's a pornography store. I was buying pornography" Homer is brilliant.
  10. Done. Squirtle urtle urtle
  11. As I am borrowing the game from a friend, will me playing cross play with PC affect anything to do with him redeeming his copy on his steam? I ask purely because all the fancy schmancy crap with crap is confusing and I can't be bothered to google the answer. Yes, I'm dumb.
  12. You got it on PS3? I might need to recruit someone for Co-Op
  13. Portal 2. Don't have much free time but I've done the first five or so rooms, and it's as fun as Portal 1 was. I'm enjoying Wheatley as well, Stephen Merchant's a great voice actor.
  14. Gonna write an article about books being made into video games (without film adaptations, e.g. Dante's Inferno). Can anyone think of others/have any suggestions about which ones you want to see made into games?

It's possibly worth looking into the issues of adaptation. This was something we had to do as part of one of the degrees I did. Firstly there are three kinds of adaptation - reconstruction, re-imagining and deconstruction.

Probably best to do a case study and find cases that fit to each criteria, see which types have generally been successful and do a SWOT. Especially with hypotheticals you could give reasons as to why a certain type of novel would work as a reimagination given a certain cultural context. I suppose games like SMT and Asura's Wrath would fit reimagining mythologies too. The topic is quite vast when you think about it.

Just remembered another - El Shaddai is inspired by the Book of Enoch.

  15. This week I've read Paper Towns and The Fault In Our Stars by John Green (the vlogbrothers, nerdfighting John Green), and they were both really good. TFioS is one of those gut punching heart wrenching books, but it's wonderful. Making my way through "The Blade Itself" by Joe Abercrombie atm. It's alright.
  16. The Muppets Movie! It was fantabulous. I was smiling throughout it. Also the songs are great.
  17. Skyrim's main quest. I can't help but feel disappointed. The whole last few quests just seem really flat. I've had a lot more fun faffing with side quests. Have lost any will to play it anymore now. Fail.
  18. Fucking hate bears. They kill me more than anything. *walking along* RARRRRRRRGH *dead* ffffffffff
  19. I am a Follower murderer. Accidentally ofc. I've killed Lydia, Golldir and Roggi, all by AOE accidental damage.
  20. I bought this for the PS3 (yes, mock me), and it's a lot of fun. I'm en route to meeting with the people to talk about the shouts, but I'm side questing at the minute. Breton who's main weapon is a bound sword. Battle tactics are: Summon Flame Atronach, let Flame Atronach aggro. Fire Firebolts at the enemy. Let follower attack. Go in with bound sword and mop up. It's relatively effective. Lydia just got caught in a nasty crossfire of firebolts and died, however.
  21. Battle Royale is a far superior book, there's no denying that. The two psychos are ridiculous in BR. HG doesn't really focus on tribal, so it's not comparable to LOTF except for the whole kids killing kids thing, but BR/HG are more organised, whereas LOTF it happens out of the situation, rather than the situation being engineered for that particular purpose.
  22. She isn't even the most messed up character in the books. I'd argue that the Tributes from the other Districts, particularly the richer ones, are pretty fucked up from the start. Ditto Haymitch. this is true. Poor Finnick. One of my favourite characters, I really meant like the Tributes like Cato and the others from Districts 1-3. The ones who embrace the madness and who look forward to and are excited by the prospect of killing others.

  24. 1. Work harder so as I can finish my PGCE and find a job. 2. Lose weight. Maybe. 3. Be happier. I have so many problems with being miserable for no reason (well, depression), so I want to make a conscious effort to enjoy life and be happier. 4. Read more books. 5. Write more.
