I can follow recipes just fine but I don't trust my ability to improvise.

That sounds pretty good, Pirate. I don't really trust my own ability to come up with good flavor combos on my own, but I would like to try ramen that's more than just noodles at some point. If there was a noodle stand where I live that did that I would be one happy camper.

I generally don't care much for shows where the lead character is a whiny pussy. Even if he toughens up a bit later on in the show's run, that still leaves a majority of the show where you have to put up with this sniveling little wimp constantly. I have to ask myself "Why should I care about this guy when there are way cooler people this show could be about instead?"

At least once I wanna try that fancy ramen you always see in anime that has an onion and an egg and a whole fucking lobster in it. It always looks so good but I am not even sure something like that even exists.
