  1. So orbis vs durango rumours. 4GBDDR5 vs 8GBDDR3 plus EDR. The Durango possessing an architecture that seems surprisingly similar to the complex coding as on the PS3/PS2 whereas the orbis going for raw power and a more simplified arch. Hmm I think if the rumours are true, if you want gaming primarily it's going to be Sony but a mediabox might be MS. GDDR5 is definitely going to give some interesting results. Maybe Agni's philosophy isn't that far-fetched.

      WTF

lol oh crap. It cut my statement XD. Well here it is Reddit is a bad source of actual news. It's more like a fan aggregator these days and a decent marketing tool but when they started banning stuff like discovery science yeah...

  2. @dean I agree with hair he does look a bit like fassbender. Skinnier fass but yeah. I'm guess as for the otherside it's probably timetravel+alt dimensions.
  3. You know I should finish this game sometime now that I realise that I can really relate to Vincent.
  4. It's a shame about Studio Liverpool but Bioware is a brand (or a label) now as opposed to a studio. EA consistently does this before things go sour. Fairly certain Maxis, Mythic etc all became brands. PopCap is a brand too.

Well it still works if either one is sterile or can be proven to be sterile. Of course there's adoption but you can always put that off.
  6. Tokyo Jungle is a lot of fun. I gave it a go late on Wednesday night and spent about 2 hours on it. I'd really like to go back to it. It's very roguelike and if you're into quirky stuff I'd definitely recommend it. It's also a timesink.

I was just thinking last night that while it seems kind of like a stealth action game, brawler or platformer, that it's really more roguelike. Really dislike the hunger level though - you can starve to death just walking down a street. I guess it does tightly compress the whole "nature" thing, but it reminds me a bit of when I tried the Sims and would spend all day walking to the next room.

  7. Rayman Jungle Run is fun. You guys on iOS and android should give it a go. My bad I mixed it up with legends...
  8. I'm the PS Vita Beta and you know what I've still not had a single match. It might be because of the times I've tried it but generally, I've not found a single match so far. I can't even tell how the game really feels without playing it. Thanks for the Beta Superbot but come on... Wonder if it's just on the EU side. Considering I was invited to stress test and there are players wonder why I've not found a match yet.

    English vs English

Honestly we should all blame Webster for all this ridiculousness. Spellings, words and even grammar to some extent were modified because he thought 'I can simplify language for a bunch of people'. I mean you can understand errors such as Aluminum from Aluminium due to the telegraph and communication difficulties. But to forcibly change the language due to the strength of one's ego and desire to simply when it's not quite that is fairly stupid. Either adopt a more universal SI system and get people to collaborate and come up with a simplistic version or leave it. Honestly the way things work today thanks to a lot of transatlantic communication is that British and American English are consistently borrowing from each other that at some point in the future it'll be fairly similar outside of the dialect. I can't say it's due to the invasion of British actors in mainstream Hollywood and broadcast since that's been going on since the days of Chaplin and Grant but it definitely is to do with writers crossing over. I for one would prefer a uniformity in grammar and usage with dialectical differences. Damn you OED for taking forever to come out with a dictionary, I honestly wouldn't be surprised that if they did come out with a new edition it could be adopted by universities in the US as well because of the growing fondness of wanting to use English as in the UK (of course not uniformly because not everyone actually gets the chance to go to a university). If anything we might actually see certain societal attributes associated with language translating across borders. At the end of the day what really separates the two languages outside of colloquialisms and dialects is the dictionary reference point.
  10. Sigh I need to finish this game at some point. I've only managed to sink 6 hours into the game of which 2 were in the pause menu (damn this lack of time!) I've gone with a Siren primarily again. I don't know how I managed to play the first one so much as to platinum it (it's easier to forget that you own a game when you own it digitally). It's so easy to lose track of what you own on steam when you own around 500+. Damn those indie bundles and steam sales. Has anyone done a decent workaround to make BL2 splitscreen on the PC since I'd like to play it with a friend between two monitors at some point. The BL1 workaround doesn't work this time.
  11. I came across this album during my travels and I think this is a pretty funky remix OST for Nier. One of my fave tracks from it cause it's just odd
  12. Well there's more but that'd be overkill. Basically my mum sent over a lot of Indian sweets when my brother went to visit my parents in the Middle East a few weeks ago.

    Alcohol

I've been drinking a lot of single malts lately. Too many double shots of single malt too - It's a fricking expensive habit. Honestly though I feel like we once had a thread about booze cause I'm sure I've told people about my dislike for most beers with the exception nice vintage ales and brews. Now those are good. Generally though I've had all sorts of alcohol throughout my life [My father once told me when I was 16 that I should try them all while I was in uni, else I was likely to stick to one drink and get addicted and he actually had a fair point there] and even had a few drinks named for me in my favourite pubs XD - hasn't happened yet in London but i'm going to make it happen (hopefully) lol.
  14. Nice to see, it's all well and good here :). Too much shit going on at the moment in my life.

  15. Most EM papers aren't too hard. I'm not sure what texts you guys had but if it's the same old route starting with the Timoshenko and Young books they're fairly fun. I do remember one yearmate finding SoM fun and the other hated it. Anyone here from a more electronics and/or computer science engineering background? I'm just curious if anyone actually enjoyed Electrical Instrumentation and Measurements (was probably one of the most boring crap I had to study). As a matter of fact most Electrical stuff is fairly dull coming to think of it.
  16. You guys might enjoy Cloud Atlas. So far from the footage I've seen man of steel looks fairly decent. Michael Shannon makes a weird Zod though - it's still in post though a trailer should be out in the next 3 weeks. Major post finishes up this December.
  17. The way I look at it is fairly simple when it comes to difficulty. Do I enjoy the gameplay mechanics? If Yes, then I need it to be as difficult as possible because I enjoy the challenge - it's why I like civ on harder difficulties. If No--> Do I like the story and other aspects? If Yes, alright I'll play on harder difficulties so that I feel I've got value for money as it's likely to be a short game. Else , then okay screw this I'll just play it on normal since I'm just curious about it and it's not really giving me a lot of enjoyment( why on earth did I buy this game?). That's all there is to it for me. I do like difficulty in games but it all depends on what the game does for me.
  18. My gaming time has been severly cut shot. However I have finished darksiders 2 and tales of graces f(not the extra content just the main game). I am playing through a few vita games when I get the time and should start some of the 3DS games like KH3D soon. I still buy a lot (though lack of time and falling prices mean I wait a bit more for titles i'm not that crazy about).
  19. Man the animations in the game can be janky lol. But yeah it should be fun to play.
  20. Not just infrasound, a change in temperature in the room due to a draft can also cause a similar effect. In fact there was a whole hour long discovery channel documentary that exposed the effect of basically a loose tile that let cold air from the pipe vents lower the temperature of the room and make people believe a particular place was haunted. Everything was recorded and the hauntings pretty much came about at the time when the air cooled. It was fairly interesting to see how temperature and sound especially as a combo work on the mind. It makes sense considering that when you suffer hypothermia you also end up feeling 'hot' and take off all your clothes and freeze to death. We honestly still don't know all the effects of temperature on the human mind. Worth noting if you want to use that on a battlefield in the future (or not!).

    Wii U

I might get it to be honest. I just spoke to Amazon CS and they said my preorder price would be guaranteed. In all honesty the damn thing isn't worth the 250/300/350 they're charging for. 200/220 and 250/270 seems appropriate and I've even heard that the range was supposed to be 199.99-279.99 before retailers decided to put it up higher. Amazon initially went with £210 and £260 but then took it off. I got in at 199.99 for the 2 minutes that it was on and I feel that's a decent replacement for the Wii and I might get a slight upscale from the 480p that it plays at and that would be worth it enough in my opinion. Though I've got to be honest, I'm really not much of a heavy gamer anymore with my career and business consuming all my spare time and I'm back to being a more PC/handheld gamer once again. I'll be getting ZombiU and Lego City Stories and possibly Rayman Legends. That's about it really. I don't really like Pikmin (hate that sort of game in all honesty - sacrifice was probably the best that had the whole unit following you RTS mechanism and the only one I enjoyed outside of Giants: Citizen Kabuto). But I can see Japanese support coming in heavily for this due to DQ X, MH3 and other titles that there'd be more titles that I might be interested in. at the price I'm getting I'm good to give it a shot.
  22. So since this thread is almost dead wonder if anyone actually bought it? My 3DS has basically become my Theatrhythm machine. Mind you the game is actually limited - oh something to do with limited proliferation of 3DS consoles in the west. I bought it from Amazon got the stylus and stickers and all that. Honestly its the most fun I've had with a rhythm game since Lumines Vita earlier this year.
  23. The price is the euro and pound thing; the plus discounts are separate and never show up on these posts. Only on the store update or Ross McGrath's posts. There are other games on sale too such as TiTs, persona 2, the bundles and others. There's plenty of sales here for the Vita and hey Gravity Rush was number 1 in the french charts which is cool. Also Dokuro is hitting the PSN soonish, demo popped up briefly on the Canadian store. Can't wait for JSR HD and RCR (damn you MS for delaying its release - it's ready for Steam and PS3/Vita) for digital titles. I still wish I didn't forget to take my vita during my work trip for the past few months -.-

    UK Politics Thread

Most people just refer to it as the clock tower really. Honestly it's not a major thing but they're trying to make it sound like it is.

@Dean the tower might be called the Elizabeth tower but the bell remains Big Ben unless I'm mistaken so we'll continue to call it Big Ben and not be factually wrong .
