  1. Wario Ware, Inc My only real exposure to mini-game collections came in the form of the wonderful (but underappreciated) Frobisher Says on the PSVita, but I'd heard good things about this one and it gave me an excuse to play on the RGV40XX. And yeah, this thing is great. To the point that I've got my eldest hooked on it, and I think we'll be investing in the Switch game (not sure which) soon.
  2. The OG game is on my to-play list on the retro handheld. Just need to find the time.
  3. https://www.nexusmods.com/clairobscurexpedition33/mods/25 That's the link to the mod. I finished the game on XBOX last night, and this might actually force me to double-dip. If you end up going with this, let us know how it goes if possible?
  4. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 A videogame masterpiece. 5/5.
  5. Rift Riff Little tactics game that is sort of perfect for what I want from that genre; quick, easy to pick up and put down and not overly taxing. It looks super cute too and as ever, runs great on my deck. I can see this inching into my favourite games of the year list, it's wonderful. 4/5 - A gem of a game. Suit for Hire This seemed so cool for the first twenty or so minutes, but then it rather quickly becomes a little boring. It's not that Max-Payning your way around this level's isn't fun, it's just that without a story, or any real progression it all feels a little flat. 2/4 - Fine, I guess. Without A Dawn Without A Dawn is a striking horror visual novel with a focus on a young women's struggle with her mental health. It's about an hour of gameplay from front to back. Given it's a VN it's relatively light on mechanics but there's some light puzzling that you could probably brute force with the right combination of button presses. Where the game really shines is with it's use of its stunning ascii-art. It's almost breath-taking in it's beauty. 3/5 - Good Drop Duchy Another 'puzzle' game. Drop Duchy is erm ' ...... a unique roguelike puzzle game that combines Tetris-style block placement with strategic deck building. You'll build your duchy by strategically placing territory blocks, managing resources, and battling enemies through card-based mechanics.' I think it's probably a better game than I'm capable of experiencing, given that I suck at it. Looks and sounds real nice though. 3/5 - Good. I've been away for a week so I spent a lot of down time whilst the kids were in bed playing on the ol' Deck and reading. Which is how I managed to clear two games and start two more. Now I'm home I'm hoping to get back to Clair Obscur and wrap that wonderful web right up.
  6. For what it's worth I've read on Reddit that there's a mod available that makes it run at a solid 45FPS (medium settings IIRC) on the Deck. I haven't used it myself, but the SD Sub was very positive on it. I could find the link if you're interested?
  7. Been using them for a few weeks and I'm so glad I got them. I've gone from lifting 5kg to 11kg already, and I feel pretty confident that they're going to last me a good while. If I had the space I'd invest in a bench, but until then these are going to serve me very well indeed.
  8. Me and my brothers have been looking for something to play when Rocket League is down, and we think this may be it. And I snagged this on Steam because we're going away for a week with the kids and if we have 7 days of solid rain and don't have a way to keep them busy I may top myself.
  9. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 I'm about 90 minutes into this and I think I might be hooked. I'm not normally a videogame story or cutscene guy, frankly I just don't care and don't really have the time to do so. That said, the games first hour was some of the finest storytelling I've ever seen in a game and damn near drew a tear out of my tired old eyes. As others have no doubt said, the game's combat is where it makes it's money, and whilst I suck at it, I can see that; I usually run away from turn-based combat, but this does so much around that core idea that it barely feels like a turn based thing at all. I'll be sticking with it for the foreseeable, and if it does become a bit too hard I might just knock the difficulty down to get through the game and enjoy the story; not something I usually bother with.
  10. DOOM: The Dark Ages This one is fun eh? So for context I really enjoyed my time with DOOM (2016), and then bounced off Eternal so quickly that I damn near gave myself whip-lash. I went into this expecting very little, and leave it with DOOM TDA being some of the most fun I've had with a shooter in quite some time. 4/5 - A must play. Deep Duck Trouble (Staring Donald Duck) I'm not going to assign a score to this one, because, well I'm not sure it's fair to the game given I'm playing it some 30 years after it originally launched. DDT is was Sega Master System game (that I believe was also pushed out on the Game Gear). It's one of the first games I've got memories of playing (and sucking at) with as a kid and I wanted a big ol' spoon of nostalgia shoved down my throat. I had a brief but fun time with the game, although as you may expect, time hasn't been kind to it. It's got some pretty horrific slow downs, the platforming is mediocre at best and the enemies aren't exactly difficult. That being said, it looks gorgeous for a SMS game, it's got some real cute animation and sprite work and the soundtrack is kinda catchy. Took me around an hour to beat (using save states) and I'll likely come back to it again and again in the future.
  11. I wonder if there's any merit to the idea that given this new game doesn't have the Pokemon IP behind it, they might actually have to put the work in to make it a success. Rightly or wrongly, those Pokemon games sell regardless of quality.
  12. Big fan of Guacamelee here, and whilst Nobody Saves The World was fun, I can't wait to see more of Blighted. I have no idea what to expect from Felt That Boxing, but .....just look at how cool it looks.
