  1. finally finished Alan Wake DLC, knows what people meant by "it needs a sequel."

  2. Notice how the spine keeps the logo in the US version, but goes all Helvetica on the EU one. Are other games like that in Europe?
  3. Couldn't find a good image online and my phone's camera sucks, but here's the tin cover for Mass Effect's limited edition:
  4. Well, I keep them because I want to collect them. I fell all fuzzy inside knowing that I have both editions. :/ On a practical note, I have in the past let a friend borrow Mass Effect 1 for a few weeks because I could still play my other disc. So there's one positive side effect.
  5. Golden Sun Lost Age EDIT NOOOOOOOOOOOOO Meh, Golden Sun
  6. Golden Sun EDIT: Yant's Oot was already up when I started posting, I just wanted to make a funny
  7. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Hyrule Field, on the path from Kokiri Forest to Hyrule Market. Death Mountain in the background. And if you look to your left past this hill, you'll see Hyrule's one and only ranch, Lon Lon Ranch, where they produce milk from cows that are happy to hear the singing of Malon. This milk is so delicious that it will replenish 5 hearts from your life bar. Excuse me, sir! No flash photography! This is a Nintendo studio! Security! He's getting away!
  8. Super Smash Brothers Melee just in case.
  9. I... I have a problem... I just really like the Mass Effect franchise and for some reason wanted to be a collector for all/most things Mass Effect. I have the comics and and 2 of the three books. My brother lost the first one, but they're 8 bucks, so I'll buy it again someday. He was the one that bought the standard edition and got the pre-order bonus disc from his friend. I bought the ME2 Collectors' Edition on release day and the ME1 Limited Collector's Edition around October last year I think. About $65, pretty good condition and about 30-40 dollars cheaper than some eBayers's starting bids and other Amazon resalers. Then ME2 standard edition was $10 on Amazon in December, so I got that. Still deciding on whether I should pick up the Evolution comics as one pack like I did for the Redemption or get each issue as they come out. I have made the decision not to collect memorabilia. Maybe I'll buy the N7 jacket and maybe a poster for one of the games, but I'm not even considering buying all the stuff they have at the Mass Effect store. Way overpriced (although some things make my inner geek drool) and just way too damn many items. Also, I will probably never own a copy of Galaxy, but w/e, heard gameplay wasn't good and I've already read the story Thank you
  10. My current quick-access games: Note: I also keep my ME collection there even though I don't play the Limited Editions anymore. It just looks awesome My box under my bed:
  11. That's actually what I'm afraid of. The first game had geth, the second had Collectors. These were sentient enemies that could use weapons. Both games had "Reaper" enemies, but they were limited to husks (and then praetorians and scions). I know it's a necessity to have sentient enemy troops for gameplay (a whole game with nothing but husks and scions would drive me crazy), but if they're sentient enough that people can play as them on level ground against Spectres... I feel like it goes against the precedent BioWare has set in the previous games for Reaper technology. EDIT: That's why I have hopes they'll do something similar for Mass Effect 3.
  12. So, Mass Effect 3 is more than likely going to have a multiplayer component. Myself, I'm hoping it's limited to co-op. But I want to know: how do TAYers think multiplayer (co-op or otherwise) should be implemented into the game? I was thinking about this a few days ago. And it occurred to me that it could be an unequal co-op system. You could get the choice to play your Shepard in single player mode or co-op host mode, where an online friend(s) could join in and play as a squad mate only during battles, offering no input during conversations, decisions, etc. They can still talk to you through chat, but all decisions are made by the host, including stats progression for all squad mates and the like. This way, your Shepard is still your Shepard and you don't have to compromise just because you're playing with a friend. What do you guys think?
  13. Warioware EDIT: I didn't want to be not specific enough, so I chose a platform. The wrong one.
  14. Animal Crossing DS EDIT: capitalization and "Ugh, class" :/
  15. Meh, fuck it. Counter-Strike Xbox
  16. I'd recommend LttP, it's the last 2D console Zelda, but it doesn't feel archaic at all. Gameplay wise, it's almost perfect and it set the standard Zelda formula for most console games afterwards. Between having a Wii and a powerful computer (I assume yours is powerful), I'd emulate/buy the GCN version of TP if you want a modern 3D Zelda although you can't go wrong with WW. OoT, MM, and LA can feel archaic if you're not familiar with the series. Hopefully LttP and TP/WW can spark a fire to make you want to play those later Also, Minish Cap is a fantastic 2D Zelda, and is possibly the "first" Zelda in the timeline, but I feel it's less a traditional Zelda due to many story elements, so I'd hold off on playing that one for a bit.
  17. Majora's Mask. Frosted already said so much and yet there's even more that I can't even put into words. I've played a handful of Zeldas: LttP LA OoT OoS WW TP MC And Majora is by far my favorite. The 2D Zeldas are fantastic, but even LttP loses the immersion factor because of the 2D factor. I never feel like I'm Link even though I'm controlling him. 3D Zeldas have a magic all their own. OoT was magical because it made you believe Hyrule was real. WW had a great sense of exploration, if dull at times. TP tried to reach a medium between mature themes and carefree innocence, but I feel like it fell a bit short on both and you ended up with a really fun, almost forgettable (Midna saved the ending) adventure. I, like Yant, couldn't even remember the part with the Yeti. Although that could be due to Zelda saturation... Majora's Mask hit all the notes right. It had everything that OoT had (sans princess), but was technically better in every aspect. The colors, the story, the soundtrack, the challenge. It all came together to make me feel emotions that I rarely get from videogames. I only wish I could go back in time and feel the game at its most intense, when you have 3 days to finish a temple, but you don't know what to do.
  18. I never played Uncharted 1, but Uncharted 2 has plenty of puzzles. They're all pretty simple though. Haven't played GoW3 at all or any of the others in a few years, so I can't really help you there.
  19. God of War was good, definitely slower and less reliant on skill than Ninja Gaiden Black, but it wasn't bad and the story was interesting. Now Dragon Age, I don't hate. I just really, passionately believe it's not for me. I loved KotOR and I had heard the gameplay was similar, but it just didn't click with me. The inventory system was essentially what "broke" the game for me. I kept running out of inventory space every 15 minutes on my first quest, so being OCD as I usually am with RPG's, I walked all the way back to the village to sell the extras. The problem was that I didn't know the quests in this game are long as fuck. So halfway through the first quest, I decided to only pick up items that were truly necessary. I'd pass up weapons and armor because they weren't that much better than my current equipment. Then my character wasn't strong enough, so I dropped the difficulty and tried to enjoy the story. Yet another problem was the fact that I stopped leveling up myself due to the difficulty, and just used auto-level up. By the time I got to the last section, with the armies and stuff, my character sucked so much ass that I couldn't finish the game. I wasn't having fun anymore, so I just gave up. Maybe one day I'll try it again... Now, Uncharted 2, I'm with Chewie and Yant. The story was engrossing (if cliché), the graphics were great, and the animations were wonderful. But the platforming was unintuitive, and the shooting was downright boring. Nathan's jumps were all context-sensitive during platforming sections, leading to unrealistic jumps even by the game's previous standards. There were quite a few times I got stuck because I was convinced Nathan couldn't make a certain jump, so I'd look around for an alternate path until I'd just try whatever seemed least impossible. Whenever I chose the "correct" jump, Nathan would borrow Kazooie's Spring Boots, and Dwight Howard it up to the next ledge or whatever. The shooting controls were ok, but the bullet sponge enemies got incredibly annoying really quick. Headshot detection was pretty inconsistent too. The bottom line is I suffered through the gameplay because I wanted to see the end of the story.
  20. Isn't that Pokémon picture from Pokémon Yellow? I thought the HP bar was green only in Yellow. /nitpick Also, Street Fighter II': Special Champion Edition
