deanb
So I've recently ghotten into playing Dungones n Dragons. DMed a couple games too. We're playing 4th rules, kinda newbs so for a large part making it up as we go along and finding out later there was a rule on lighting conditions we should have used or something. Just wondering if anyone has any sources or good sites to check in on, campaign ideas, general tips etc. Or anyone want to post about their adventures with D&D, look for advice, whatever. At the moment we have like a small village/town that's our hub and have small "episodes" within it. Mainly so we can take turns in DMing and do a complete DM session in several hours instead of each making a campaign to drag on for weeks. As we get used to some kind of timetable, more comfortable with the game n rules I think we'll be looking at making more expansive skirmishes than "some goblins are being annoying, clear them out" sort of stuff. I might make a blog at some point to chronicle stuff, at least we want to do it for ourselves. So might post stuff and you can get an idea of what we're doing. Oh making it's own topic just to stop hijacking Jaylews event thread.

deanb
http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Article.aspx?x=dnd/4news/dndnextfaq They've got a "play test" of their new DnD rule set (dropping the 5 and becoming "D & D Next"). I know some of you play DnD so might be interested.
deanb
Any kiddie friendly D&D-likes? Nice n simple to follow, maybe some nice free literature (and pictures too) online to pore over.
deanb
http://www.wired.com...01/dndclassics/ WotC to begin releasing old (and new) DnD games as PDFs. Something they've been against in the past for similar reasons Beatles never hit MP3 stores for a while ("it'd make it easy to pirate, so we'll let pirate sites be the only place to get our products digitally"). deanb
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speaktogether.free In case you're ever doing some kind of more modern/futuristic games and you end up playing as something akin to a techpriest (or an actual tech priest), or maybe fitting in many other roles too, then this is a pretty nifty app to get. Saturnine Tenshi
Oh, this is a thread. I'm playing an elven archer paragon'd to battlefield archer. We're just using modules at the moment. I'd considered going something more specialized like hunter from the Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms manual, but ultimately decided it didn't fit the bill.
