I'm unsure how they're doing it though. They seem a bit muddled if they're doing their own tablet, partnering with another tablet maker, or having a kind of "Gamestop platform" sort of like the amazon market n just selling tablets in-store. Their recent purchase of the streaming company Spawn Labs (the one that got them in bother when they took out Onlive codes from DX:HR) is playing a large part in this. Connorrrr
I don't...Err... What? Really? I mean, why? There're so many android tablets out there if you're not just gonna get an iPad, some of which I hear are rather good. Why are Gamestop, of all people, getting their fingers in this pie too? MasterDex
Because they're Gamestop. They want their fingers in all the pies. That's why you've got Gamestop branded controllers, a Gamestop games magazine and used games days after their release for a discount. They'll sell some tablets. I doubt they'd sell enough to make it worthwhile but when they're advertising them in store (and likely undercutting the competition while they're at it), some people will pick it up just as they're browsing. fuchikoma
Just what we... needed??? Yes... Clearly more people will game on tablets if there are dozens of possible hardware configurations to choose from... Wow. I'm just waiting for the day GameStop becomes a games publisher and starts trying to crack down on used game sales!
Connorrrr
Well, we don't have Gamestop's here in England but I can say with some amount of certainty that if one of the UK game chains such as GAME were to release a tablet, it'd tank. I could be proven wrong but I just don't see what Gamestop are going to get out of this.

Other tablets are pricy for the most part so they are likely going to price it low to draw in those who might want this service on a tablet. Anyways I think it's a bad move. OnLive started on PC and then spread. That worked well for them. This tablet seems to be a much larger risk.

Vargras
I'd laugh so damn hard if the tablet auto-shut down if you ran Steam or Origin.
madbassman39
I think this is gamestops first step into selling an "onlive" like console in their future. Knowing gamestop, in order to play half of the games, you'll need the console anyways and then you'll need to upgrade to be an Edge member.
