TheFlyingGerbil
MalH is correct. I set it up last night. It's fine for the money. The t100 is a lot nicer but over twice the price and definitely out of impulse purchase territory for me.
deanb
Picked up a Plantronics headset and a set of Logitech speakers (had a set donkeys back, did me pretty great until they got dropped by a housemate) They're like dirt cheap, but better than what my monitor does, only really for a bit of music while I'm sorting out my room or what not. Also picked up some new Chessex dice today since my set from years back is a few short: CHX 25366, I quite liked the design and it was in their cheapo tier too. TheFlyingGerbil
What would be the difference between cheap and dear dice and what's the numbering on the back left die? Is it going up in tens? Also, if you're buying them does that mean board games don't come with them when you buy them? Is there a standard set that would show you to play most games? deanb
The expensive ones come with slightly more complex designs, maybe oily translucent effects, metalic, some actually made of metal (housemate has like a steampunk cog design on one of hers) etc. Have a quick Google image search for "Chessex" and you'll see the broad range of options. Yes the back dice is in 10s,normally for games using percentage or as hit points. And it's not for boardgames (a vast amount don't use dice anyway) but in our case Pathfinder (last set were used for D&D and Rogue Trader). Pathfinder actually gives you a fair bit since the rules are free (the campaigns and duch less so).

Hot Heart
My friends want to attempt the Pathfinder RPG so now seems a good time for dice. They actually look a lot better with some electric lighting, too. I bought these ones because the numbers were clear to read and that scratched look is not so pronounced anyway. TornadoCreator
I have to be really picky with my dice, I've not got the best vision and the mottled patterns on some dice make them genuinely difficult to read for me. I prefer bold colours, stark contrast on the numbers. Recent purchase - This Wii U, and the games for it; Mario 3D World, Wind Waker HD, and Deus Ex... definately a massive purchase. I've also bought Fallout 3: Game Of The Year Edition for PS3 which I've not played in ages. I'll not be making any big purchases for a long while methinks. TheMightyEthan
There's actually two of these threads. This one, for general purchases, and the Games You've Bought thread for games and consoles and whatnot. Not a big deal, just FYI.
TornadoCreator
Aaaah, fair enough... in that case my most recent purchase is ages ago, so much so I can't remember it. I was looking at getting Shadowrun 5th Edition but it's ungodly expensive, especially as no where sells it here so I'd have to get it imported from USA paying postage and customs duty on it, pushing it way up past the £100 mark. I did get a few nice t-shirts from Jacamo last month, a bargin actually at only £7.50 each. Edited July 10, 2014 by TornadoCreator
Mr. GOH!
I bought some boat shoes because I am turning into a preppy motherfucker, apparently.
TheMightyEthan
My boat shoes are $2 flipflops from Walmart.
Mr. GOH!
My sandals fell apart and I want a little more protection than sandals afford when walking around the city.
TheFlyingGerbil
It is my mission in life to find some open shoes (sandals or mules, etc.) that don't give me blisters or make me look like a geography teacher. So far I have failed.
TheRevanchist
I just bought a 3ft auxiliary cord for my iPhone to connect to my car. Got it on sale, in red, same as my car color. Now, just to get an oil change, new tires, and a new car battery. :/
Mal
Tackling this and I got to say, it's pretty good. In the 20-30 pages I've read, it had more action some some books. Sure the first battle was odd to say the least (500 versus 50k, 500 won due to commanders duels) but it was against the Yellow Turbans. I also got to say, the impressions I got from the book makes me more appreciative of the changes in DW8. Some of the characters went a bit overboard but it showcased their defining traits in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms much better.
Saturnine Tenshi
Picked a foldable bike since space is somewhat limited. It's mainly to get me started back on fitness track, works out about 4 months of gym membership, so not the priciest of bikes. As and when it arrives housemeates have permission to make use of it, just gotta hope some of my friends that have a habit of dicking about with things they shouldn't don't touch it. How has this worked out for you?
deanb
I'm on it at this moment in time actually. Watch Cap Am 2 I'm not on it as much I like. Motivation ebbs and wanes.
Saturnine Tenshi
Need to pick up a foldable bike. Just have no idea what to get.
deanb
This is a pretty bog standard non-branded thing, depends on your budget I guess if you want bog standard or shiny hotness with magnetic fly wheels, ramping capablities and what not. Saturnine Tenshi
I just want to pedal and not go anywhere. And not spend $1,000 or go to a gym to do so.
deanb
I think you can get things that strap onto existing bikes if you have one, kinda cheap but missing stuff like the tracking, stability and what not.
Saturnine Tenshi
Yeah, I've heard of those, but don't have an existing bike. Also space-saving and portability are nice.
Strangelove
It was on sale at Gamestop and I had a lot of credit there. Plus, Ive heard nothing but good things about it and now that Im playing online with a friend, I figured itd be a good idea to finally get a decent headset. TheMightyEthan
Ooh, pretty. *Edit* - I'm still using the same 56x DVD-RW drive I bought for the first computer I ever built 10 years ago. That thing's a tank. Edited August 22, 2014 by TheMightyEthan
