Battra92
Built a new PC: Radeon 6870, octacore FX chip, 8GB ram, windows 7. About $400. Nice! Need to do this sometime soon but gotta get the cash first.

CorgiShinobi
I've had the Uncharted Dual Pack in my library for a while now. Still have not touched it. I think I've said this before, but the more hype something has, I just tend to not be as attracted to it. Nothing personal, or I'm not trying to be some kind of "hipster" gamer, but ever since the first game Uncharted has been the type of "OMG, UV GAT A TRY DIS!" kind of game. I'm sure it is great, just I don't want someone anticipating my actions. I dunno, I guess it's like a popular restaurant. Everyone from California raves about it, and a new In-N-Out is being built locally. Finally opens and people flock to it. Eventually you find yourself there, but you're surrounded by the preconceived notion that "this is the best fast food, man!" You eat a burger and it's alright. Woo. deanb
Yeah I find as the hype goes up past a certain point, even if the game is pretty damn good, there's just not as much enjoyment in it as a comparable lesser hyped game. TheMightyEthan
Agreed, past a certain point there's no way any game could live up to the hype. Though I think the reverse effect made me like Darksiders more than I otherwise would have: everyone was saying it wasn't too great, so I didn't have high expectations and then when I played it I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. dogma
Modern Warfare 3 of course. I cant find a thread about that game in the forums, thats a bit concerning, I cant be the only one addicted.
TheMightyEthan
There's a Call of Duty thread, but not one specific for Modern Warfare 3. http://forum.pressxo...hp?showtopic=
excel_excel
Bought for €20 on sale in Gamestop Love the first two in the series so am looking forward to this!......oh my, that reminds me of a puzzle! Will have to import Spectre's Call, (known as Last Specter in the US) as its missing the London Life RPG mode in the European release.
toxicitizen
In a moment of weakness, I've gone and pre-ordered I'd initially told myself I would wait and pay as little as possible for it because EA have been dicks about the PC release. But now that Diablo III is guaranteed to not be coming out any time soon, ME3 is pretty much the only big release I have any interest in right now so I didn't really have another game I could throw my 60 bucks at :/ Also, I actually saw the whole thing coming and bought the PS3 version of ME2 and made a new save for transfer back in october, so at least I'm prepared for the platform jump. I need to pick up Last Specter but I haven't seen it in any stores around me. I hope that Layton isn't losing its appeal. It's a great series and I can't wait to play the 3DS game if/when it's released. As an FYI, the British and US releases have different dubs.
Harri
I've always noticed how I play games 4 months after they come out. Anyway, I have skyrim now and it's loads of fun. Art direction is cool, and the exploration is pretty fun.I've only scratched the surface in the weekend I've been playing.
Little Pirate
Skyrim is very addicting. Be prepared to kiss your social activity goodbye when you start.
TCP
You bought it on PS3, FLD? You + me = ME3 multiplayer in March. Cool?
CorgiShinobi
Mass Effect, another game I've got to eventually get over. I played the ME2 demo and thought it was pretty good. Game is only $20 on Amazon, but I've already got a large enough backlog. Not to mention Skyrim seems to be the default game I turn to and I'm thinking of finally getting Limbo. TheMightyEthan
@Atomsk88: If you've got a computer that can run Mass Effect and you don't already own it on another system I'd suggest waiting until a Steam sale, they both usually get marked down to $5 during those. The only pieces of must-have DLC are Lair of the Shadow Broker and Arrival.
CorgiShinobi
Nope, I don't have a proper gaming PC yet. Using my laptop and Skyrim can only run fine on Low in Windowed. I got it for PC because 1) Didn't want to risk the problems present on the PS3 version, and 2) Bethesda tends to favor the PC version of their games. So yeah, I love my mods I've got for Skyrim. As for Mass Effect, I would just buy Mass Effect 2 for PS3 since that's all their is on the PS3.
Hot Heart
I would argue that only the Shadow Broker DLC was worth having (at full-price). The rest I would watch on YouTube unless I could get them for half-price.
TheMightyEthan
I would have agreed with you before, but I just replayed Arrival and while it's not as good as Shadow Broker something about it really brought home the Reaper invasion, so that was cool. *Edit* - Forgot that the PS3 version comes with Overlord, Project Firewalker, Shadow Broker, Kasumi and Zaeed. The only one you'd actually have to buy (assuming you wanted it) was Arrival. For $7 I'd say it's worth it if you care about the story and want to see what happened to set up Mass Effect 3, but I would wait until after you'd played through Mass Effect 2 before deciding. toxicitizen
I really need to play Arrival. I bought it right after I finished my PS3 run of ME2 a few months ago and just never touched it... I guess it's cool that I get to play it for the first time so close to the release of ME3 Also, I'm sure I've mentioned it before in some other thread, but Overlord is definitely worth playing, imo. Not as mind-blowingly amazing as Shadow Broker, but it starts out like an average mission and gets really, really good in the last half hour or so. It also has a very decent length (maybe a bit under 2 hours). I'd say it's worth buying on its own if you don't get the PS3 version. Probably cheaper to just get the PS3 version, though. It's like 20 bucks new now.
Hot Heart
Funnily enough, I would say Overlord is a must-have if it weren't for the hovertank stuff already being in a free piece of DLC, or if they'd used some of those more advanced aspects like the 'vehicle-platforming' from before. The story is OK but the gameplay was a bit 'dry' up until the end.
TheMightyEthan
I did not like the vehicle platforming. It seemed really silly and contrived.
toxicitizen
I agree, the hovertank platforming was kind of annoying. That being said, I still liked those missions better than all the boring ones in the Mako in ME1. I didn't really have a problem with the Mako itself. But all the side-missions were pretty fucking boring, so after a while just driving around in it felt like a chore because of it. Also, I first played ME2 at launch on PC and the Firewalker DLC wasn't yet out, so those missions and the other DLC I hadn't played made replaying the game on PS3 a bit more fun. Anyway, back on topic Took me a while to get around to buying it considering I was really looking forward to it last summer. But I was broke at the time and since I had been waiting for a few months already I figured I might as well wait for a price drop. And then the game stayed at 60$ for the longest fucking time. It's been down to 40$ for a few weeks on Amazon.ca and I was thinking of getting it. Then today Amazon.com had it for 30$ and I figured even with the import fee and the non-free shipping it's still 10 bucks less than if I ordered from Amazon.ca, so I went for it. Probably gonna take a few weeks to get here but I'm not in a hurry. Besides, there's Alan Wake PC coming out in 2 days
Luftwaffles
Not out yet, and I guess Steam isn't doing pre-purchases, but I know I'll be getting Alan Wake on Thursday. So excited to play that on PC.
