Mal
http://starcitizen.robertsspaceindustries.com/ Game dev's website. I don't doubt that a dedicated team can get a game looking that good but the main question I have to ask is obvious: What are the recommended specs to get it looking that good? Back when Crysis came out it murdered most PCs if they tried to run it at max. It’s easy now to run now for sure (And it still looks great). The website doesn't seem to say. That is what worries me. It could be some quad SLI/CrossfireX thing for all we know. Also, I do realize that people don't have to play with max specs but the question got to be asked. sixrocket
I don't know, but it's also a local network/private server/normal MMO system. It does run on a modified Cryengine 3, so not that much I guess?
Luftwaffles
That was a cinematic trailer. Bit early to be making claims like that...

Mal
By the stuff I am reading, it almost sound like they want to make a whole new EVE universe or something. I haven't had a chance to look at the videos since they're down but by the sound of things (hype), it seems like it could deliver. What I like so far is that once you paid, if you put in the time you could be just as packed as someone who put in ton of money into the game. Not sure how they'll balance it all out but it sounds nice. If the ingame universe really do expand that large, it would be sweet to get a foothold early in the game's history than way late in the game (like EVE). HOWEVER, please note that the delivery date for the full game is around Nov 2014. By a glance, the devs seems capable of pulling it off so I deem the risk to be somewhat low. I might bite though: My gut feeling is to wait. We all have 30 days to decide if they are worthy and that is plenty of time for any digging to turn up anything foul.
