Yay.

 

Evil Genius is a sort of Dungeon Keeper-esque style game where you play as a Blofeld like character with your lair. Build out rooms of various function and try and keep secret agents from your base of operations (either through traps, attacking them, or just plain old obfuscation (you can build it up as like a tourist resort n such) while also engaging in (simplistic) missions in the world to create terror and raise money.

I quite enjoyed it (though never did the campaign mode, or complete it at least).

IIRC, the first game could break easily and make your campaign unwinnable. But I loved it so much.

Great news!

 

This game was what got a girl|friend of mine into pc gaming in a heartbeat because of its prolonged one-stage campaign (spoilers: there are actually 2 stages). A lot of RTSs keep changing the tune ad nauseam rendering all the decor and work rather dull. Adding that to its pleasing aesthetics&mechanics made this game the perfect choice for entry-level players.

 

Here's hoping it comes to fruition.

Evil Genius is an amazing game indeed A sequel has been announced about two years ago, so let's hope that won't get cancelled (and that it's good, of course)

 

This is by far one of the most unique games I know of and I feel like the indirect controls make the game a lot more interesting than most RTS games are. There's just a certain something about having minions who have their own free will and needs, don't you think
