I kill dicks, and dick-tits all the time. Assholes. Sometimes dicks just like to fuck everything.

And it was indeed, unintentional! Basically made a short-tempered NGP post on Ktak, and got a shitload of aggravated replied. The lolz we had.

  2. I noticed only Matchmaking in the Beta- are there dedicated servers in KZ3? I recall in KZ2 people would play Radec Academy for fucking ever. I was so tired of it after about 5 times. Also, do hosts have the option to limit weapons, like the rocket launcher? Any un-limited KZ2 match would descend into 80% of the players just firing rockets at each other everywhere and immediately. Only if weapon limiting was on would you get decent, clean fights.
  3. Good catch, Dean. I'll get back on here later, too. In short, I agree with Cage- but I believe there's still a place for these action-focues blockbuster games. Like, I love the great mature art movies that come out these days, but I can still appreciate The A-Team or The Expendables when I feel like it. There's no need to limit the industry like that, to put too much focus on the art side of things. Though the lack of an art side of things is pretty significant to his argument, so Cage's comments are justified really.
  4. Nice, that travelodge sounds like a good idea. Though the guy i'll be going with has expensive tastes- and he tends to get his mum (a londongoer businesswoman) to book hotels for him and stuff. Crazy cat. I'll get back to y'all
  5. I'm in a very sweary mood now after my mini-rant on the word 'meh' in the pet peeves thread

  6. Seeing as I only recently discovered the CSI 4 Pane, i fucking Looooooooove it with a capital L. "Horatio, the woman was run over by a man around midnight last night!" "Well..." "Then why was he driving..." "In the kitchen." (obligatory 'yeah') THE WORD 'MEH'. I have never liked it, I never will like it. It's just an outlet for apathetic people to disregard anything without giving any justification or interesting thoughts on the subject. Whenever someone says 'meh' I actually start to get angry. I would only ever use it if I also gave subsequent or preceding explanations for why I feel that way about the subject. People who just say 'meh' for 'meh's sake can fuck right off to the 'inarticulate and undeveloped communication skills' corner. EDIT: I fucking loved that.
  7. Ah, it didn't happen as in, you didn't get more play time regardless, or those problems resolved themselves? Yeah I'm feeling exactly the same thing could still happen to me, but the chances are lower than usual. Totes! I may be on MAG later if anyone has it or fancies playing. [Also, Brain, I'd recommend Raptr for the gamercard stuff. Pretty great, and you're not selling out to M$. It keeps track of EVERYTHING)
  8. Are you saying LBP is like ModNation Racers? Because it really is not. What he said. LBP is a whimsical, childish (in a good way), fun platforming game. Like the modern day equivalent of old-school mario. Brilliant co-op too, traversing the soft fabric world and talking to crazy characters. There is little to no racing in it. Nothing to do with Modnation. The only overlap is that you can create levels, but apparently in LBP2 there's a good enough game to enjoy without getting into the level editing toolkit.
  9. In general, I can't really stand anime or manga. The tropes and cliches that pervade every moment of every single one tire me, I was tired of them years ago. There are still, however, some classic's I'll never tire of. Which is quite a huge contrast, but hey. Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis (a bit), Studio Ghibli films (save Earthsea), Full Metal Alchemist. Maybe a couple of others, including manga, I can't recall.
  10. Hey, Mister Jack's right. The bars next to in-world abilities like turrets or sentry bots are how many your team can have on the field at any one time, and how many are out on the field. So if both bars are filled up- you can't use the ability, someone has already placed the goods out on the field. If neither of the bars are filled up, nobody has used the ability either, and if you use your ability twice- you get two of it out on the field (but in bigger matches they're almost always filled up). It's still 32 players right? Two essays, a presentation, plus a gig on Saturday night (The Decemberists, heooo!) means I probably won't be getting it until next week. On top of that, girlfriend troubles. As in, potentially breaking-up girlfriend troubles. So as of next week I might have a lot more time to play! For bad reasons!
  11. Hey, I really liked it, too, if that's any consolation.
  12. Well, that's fine, Hottie. We'll all just crash the wedding instead =D (Srsly Dean that crowd would be good though, even w/o Hotness)
  13. It looks like they're upping the gameplay ante a lot in the sequel. The first one was great, but it always got boring when you were used to all your powers, and it was sometimes completely retardedly designed. Cover shooter mechanics with platforming and enemies sprawled everywhere leads to some pretty fucked up scenarios where you really can't win unless you're totally on the ball. Still, good superhero game. Sequel is looking much better.
  14. I'm pretty positive I'm gonna go to the Eurogamer Expo. Though my first week of 3rd year will either be the week of the 19th or the week of the 23rd, so it's a bit tight Uni wise, but christ I want to go. May bring my blogging partner too. And meeting any of you guys would be swell.
  15. Coolness. I'm starting to get peeved at the overuse of some memes/images- like the Citizen Kane .gif of the guy in the theatre clapping. Overall I love memes, too. EDIT: Also, what pisses me off to a massive extent is passive aggressiveness or rudeness online. So many people do that, though I see it more on forums and closed-communities than anywhere else. I'm fine with empirical or constructive criticism, even if it's in a blunt tone, but I hate comments that have personal inferences or hostile connotations. Even if I'm having a massively heated argument with someone I'll always try and add a lighthearted element to keep the debate cool, but so many people just don't respond and escalate even more. Being friendly makes everything better in life.
  16. PixelJunk are good, Shooter and Eden. Shooter 2 is out now also, and apparently it's way better than the first. Dead Nation is meant to be pretty good, but I haven't played it, I'm not 100% if it has local co-op or not. On the PSOne store there's some decent stuff- Crash Team Racing is great fun. Also you might want to look into Little Big Planet 1 or 2? Those are great co-op, and girls love that shit. Thinking of more but I'm away from home, so I can't quite picture my PSN library...
  17. I'll never forget that quote from... Mean Girls, was it? "The White Stripes?! I mean, come one, get a bassist!" May have been Freaky Friday. I'm out the loop on my Lindsay Lohan trivia. White has indeed got quite a whiny voice, I love it for his immediacy and great sense of melody though. Surprisingly flexible as well.
  18. All sounds great- but on top of having little/no coding knowledge, I have no time. In the summer we could try some work on the idea?
  19. Yeah Thursday I'm UKside and I'll be getting it soon. I'm not sure if Dean/ Davestrife will get it too, but they're from over here. And Hot Heart. I need to quiz them on their getting KZ3 anyway. It's truly brutal- my mum gave me £40 the other day. Obviously to help with shopping and keep on top of rent, etc., but I can't stop thinking about how easy that's making it to just get up and go get Killzone 3. But I have two 2000 word essays for a week today that I haven't really started. OH TELL ME PEOPLE OF TALK AMONGST YOURSELVES. WHAT SHOULD I DO.
  20. Brilliant. JW's probably one of the coolest guys in the world. Great fav song too, on the theme of the blues, which is my favourite genre to play, here's my favourite Stripes song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPeuFt749l8 Tbh you have to listen to it with a proper sound system/ headphones, so YouTube isn't the best. But that's literally the song that turned me on to the blues and blues guitar playing- I haven't stopped since. Respect, NeoStarr. That's the thing, it's their raw nature that makes it for me. I mean, yeah, controversially Meg has never had a drum lesson, but she's got the fucking soul of the music down to a tee. She just slams the drums in time to Jack rocking the goddamn hell out. Jack's got this whole '3 elements' concept for the band; he believes the most important parts of music are melody, lyric, and rhythm. So sure, they don't always progress far past four (usually three) chord progressions (though they do on non-single shit), but they always back up the simplicity with fresh melodies, lyrics, and rhythms.
  21. Yeah Giant Bomb sounds like a good call. My favourite is probably either Keiron Gillen, John Walker, or Jim Rossignol- the site obviously being RockPaperShotgun.com. I've literally been reading their reviews since I was about 9 or 10, specifically Keiron. Great guys. Quintinn Smith is becoming a possible favourite though. He's been featured on Kote a couple of times actually. This one specifically was great; where he takes the goddamn hilarious satirical piss out of Rocksteady but still gives a relatively insightful article. http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/02/01/batatat-arkham-city-5x-bigger-than-asylum/
  22. Tbh, except for Elephant, I'd probably also say that their singles are their best stuff. Every track on Elephant, save maybe the one Meg sings on, is incredible. However on most of their other albums, the non-single material is a bit weird. I know a lot of people who detest them, too, what's your beef Hakidia? Everyone I've spoken to who doesn't like them though hasn't listened to Elephant (save the radio edit of Seven Nation Army, which everyone hates (even I'm irritated with it) even though it's perfect on the album) or their earlier stuff.
  23. Hey, we're nearly exactly the same age.

    Like, exactly.

    Well played.

  24. So, any big fans here? Any haters? What's the opinion, bro's 'n' ho's. I love em. I remember being 10 (or whatever age I was when Elephant came out) and listening to it non stop as me and my parents went on a cross-France road trip. The sun, the brilliant rock. One of the best times of my life. Still know every lyric to the album off by heart. Just downloaded it, and all their other stuff, again. So brilliant. They're one of the few modern bands I've heard who have that innate addictive energy. Kings of Leon's second album Aha Shake is one of the only other things I've heard recently with the same feeling. Not the speed of the music, but the kind of in-the-moment joy of the songs and melodies. Basically like all the Beatles stuff, too. Oh, and they're broken up now. What's with that?
