Tribes: Ascend is very much not pay to win. The actual upgrades you earn just by playing, and quickly at that.

I'm not sure why people are upset about the penny arcade kickstarter. If people are willing to pay penny arcade money to remove the ads, then that's fine by me. I'm not incredibly inconvenienced by them myself, though.

@Strangelove: As much as I don't like the idea that political correctness is in itself an ideal, even less do I like the idea that we should be offensive just for the sake of being offensive. It feels juvenile as fuck.

I've never felt the need to use the word gay in any such context. There's always been other words there to express whatever thought I was attempting to convey.

Spider-Man was great. Not perfect, and not quite as good as Avengers, but better than Prometheus. Much more true to the comics than the other trilogy, great acting, good writing, actually multidimensional characters... All good!

Revelations starts out really slow. It gets better later, but it never becomes as good as AC2 or Brotherhood was.

Seems fairly unlikely to be so cut and dry as that, when it's been previously established that the game takes place over a time period including years after the war. I have to reiterate, there were probably not a lot of redcoats around at that time.

I remember the E3 gameplay demo having Connor very specifically state he does not care about the war, simply asking where the templar is located, going there, and killing him.

I may be the odd one out here, but as long as the story is well-told and the gameplay is well-done, I don't care one bit if the main character ultimately sides with the British, the Americans, or neither.

Oh dear. There are so many types of agnosticism. Strong religious agnostic religious agnostic strong undecided agnostic undecided agnostic strong atheist agnostic atheist agnostic etc. etc. There's also a branch called ignostic which refuses to discuss the generalized concept of god unless presented with a specific and consistent definition of such. Most people I meet seem to think that agnostic means "polite atheist" or some such, which is bull. I'm an agnostic atheist. Meaning I do not think I KNOW there is no god, but I see no reason to believe there is one. If I were to believe it is impossible to know whether god exists or not, I'd term myself strongly agnostic atheist.

Then make him download Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Ghost In The shell, Samurai Champloo, and Monster. I think it really doesn't feel very shounen at all despite the similarities you may find analyzing it. Well, the end of Brotherhood kind of gets like that, but mostly it's not very.

That's one of the rules of introducing people to a new board game: Skip the expansions. There are some exceptions, like Small World where the races and powers expansion stuff do not add significantly game-changing mechanics, or munchkin where the game is so simple that even in its most complicated form it's no issue, but for most games it's true.
