  1. I remember getting SimCity Societies and instantly hating it. This is why I pirate PC games. Also there's a game on XBL called Elements of Destruction. I bought it without even downloading the trial for some reason. It succccccccccked.
  2. Movies are terrible at being scary. At least with a game you're playing from the perspective of a character, and you're more submerged into the atmosphere.
  3. GTA on a Nintendo console? The thought makes me laugh a little on the inside, but at the same time, I think it'd be great if Nintendo fans got a taste. As for it being more powerful than a 360, I agree. It should be more powerful than the 360, but I'd still be impressed if it out-classed the PS3.
  4. I'm Commander Shepard... and they're ALL my favorite stores.

Yeah, I've always felt like having every store have the same promotion would kind of dilute the value of that promotion. But whatevs.

  5. My mother doesn't know there's a "theme" to Tetris. HNNNNGH. >_>

I think you missed a "dee" when you said "doo" instead.

  6. Well I am a little submissive at times.
  7. Since we're getting a new map and I'm still a green, I might end up coming online sometimes. Maybe build something to leave my mark on the world.

  9. The term "best game of the year" annoys the fuck out of me. Especially so early in the year. Same goes for movies that make the same claim.

  10. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/595809294166558181/398F0470DEDDCA9284EEB36EC2CED5CA443F26CA/ It started to rain in my game for the first time. Fucking scared me at first. No lightning, though. Very cool effect, but it does kind of slow the game down a tad. That picture (if you can see it) was taken in the middle of the day. Looks kind of dark, doesn't it? There wasn't any warning, it just went dark and suddenly started raining.
  11. Hahahaha! Oh, Kotaku. When will you learn to never cross-post a Jezebel article. Kotaku and Jezebel commenters do not mix.

  12. Amnesia, I guess. I played FEAR and that game wasn't scary at all. It relied on "cheap scares". Amnesia, however, chills you to your bone. Also, I don't see why people are so scared of Bioshock. Those splicers are kind of creepy and the atmosphere isn't bad, but I don't have any fear when playing it. ...Maybe it's because the enemies are pretty easy to kill and I feel like a GOD with all my plasmids.
  13. I have to agree with the term "flat". It doesn't fit with Oblivion. I remember there being quite a lot of hills and even a few mountains that you could climb. Or at least one, which had an oblivion gate waiting for you... and this is from someone who probably didn't explore but a quarter of the game.
  14. I could have swore I saw a pink sheep in Minecraft... it was too big to be a pig. By the time I got to it, it had disappeared and all that was left was a black sheep. :( Was it real?

  15. Well, my main problem with Oblivion was that it looked nice, but ran sluggish. Also there was a lot of distance between areas of importance and there wasn't anything particularly great in the scenery. It's like, I wouldn't mind the long travel time if I had some nice things to look at and memorable points of interests. As it was, it was just kind of boring and repetitive going from point a to point b. I ended up saying fuck the plot and just went exploring. I had fun dicking around, but that got old fast because, like I said, there wasn't a whole lot of eye candy, and I think eye candy is essential. Take Fallout 3 for example. If you saw a few houses or a path that lead up some cliffs you would go check it out and you would probably find some interesting things. In Oblivion everything seemed bland and copy/pasted into the world and I felt uninterested in it all. I didn't play it very long, in the end. I remember learning you could become a vampire and I set out to become one. After I became one I found out that it wasn't all that it was cracked up to be, but still pretty cool. Then I quit and pondered to myself why the game had so much appraise. ...Then I remembered I played the game on the Xbox360, so I did not have the luxury of mods.
  16. Well, if you're not moving, you can turn around on a dime. Though the physics in EVE are kind of dumb. In Space your speed wouldn't matter if you were simply "turning". However, to change the direction you're moving, that's difficult. EVE does that fairly well. But it's not like you can fly in one direction and turn your ship around while going in that same direction, like you could in real life. EVE treats spaceflight a little too similarly to Earth flight, if you ask me. Though, and this is me nitpicking, even Earth-flight allows you to fly upside down, and in EVE you can't quite do that. So long as you're not moving and tell your ship to change course, it'll turn on a dime no matter the size. I remember seeing a video of a Gallente Titan turning around, albeit very slowly. In my opinion, I wouldn't call EVE a space-sim because it imitates space flight, but rather a space industry and economy.
  17. WTF. If a skeleton hits your pressure pad with an arrow it'll stick and stay on... Like, my front door didn't shut and then my house got flooded with mobs that were chasing me. x__X
  18. It's interesting how I even need to defend this. Space sim, at least to me, details a game centered around the aspect of space in either vehicle flight and combat or exploration for the majority of its game. Spore's Space Stage is all vehicle combat and exploration. 100%. In fact, you don't go out of your spaceship until the expansion pack. Now, is it realistic? Not in the slightest. But neither is Eve, X3, X-Wing vs. TIE-Fighter, or the other "greats." This wouldn't even be a talking point if Spore was a more serious game. Pretty much what he said.
  19. I'd think a space simulator is flying a ship in space. But could expand to doing just any ol' thing in space. However, Halo is definitely not a space sim...
  20. "Game Over" I see that one a lot, man.
