Interestingly enough, I have yet to play Borderlands. I am aiming to rectify that situation though. I'm looking for a cheap GOTY copy that has all the DLCs. This is in preparation for Borderlands 2. I actually hope Gearbox can pull this off, no? While the gameplay clips floating around aren't exactly mind-blowing, it's not exactly bad either. It seems A:CM might be one of those games where you need to play it rather than just watch one amazing trailer after another to 'get" it. My main concern now is MP. How will they sustain players' attention?

I checked the multiplatform threads and I was surprised that I didn't see a thread for Colonial Marines (if there's one, please point me to it). Does this mean no one here is excited for it? I just re-watched Alien and Aliens and I must say, sci-fi games or similar games borrow a ton of ideas from the Alien movies. Yes, I know this is common knowledge but it's surprising how much it's so. I mean, the original movies were released in what? 1979 and 1986 if I remember correctly. Anyhoo, who's excited for the game? I was very skeptical of it, I admit but things are looking rosier than eve -- and the the fact that most, if not all, the hands-on I've read so far have been very favorable adds fuel even more. To be honest, I don't mind it being a corridor shooter; as long as it's done well. Imagine Dead Space but with Aliens and as a FPS? How can that NOT be good, no? For multiplayer. my only concern is how can they make the Aliens side compelling? I'd imagine there would be like 3-6 different alien breeds but can that sustain the game in the long run? I'm personally excited to play the game's campaign and going co-op through the whole gamut! What are your thoughts, TAYers?

This. ALso, laser sight wasn't mentioned. I completely overlooked that. I managed to finish it at 5am, thought it was going to stew for a bit before it got filmed and all. When I woke up, the live stream already took place and I missed. Yeah, I'll try to be more mindful of the weapons and such.

Most of the topics coveted in in that trailer was already discussed in the Operation Metro trailer EA released. From weapons, sights, etc. I'm not that adept at weapon names, which I'm honest about. The regular guy who does it has a few issues at the moment, as far as wanking, it's made for BF fans. We've done the same with CoD. Although they're not really forthcoming with trailers yet.

BF3 on consoles! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLCFQyqEoHA What do you think? And yes, it does look inferior compared to the PC version, but that's stating the obvious. I personally think it looked similar aside from textures, detail, etc.

Hell yea! I loved Darksiders 1. Sure, it might have been a tad too long, but it felt like Zelda with more "comic" characters. I actually liked War as a protagonist. Hope Death can be a good sub.

Bobby Kotick called, he was wondering if he could persuade you to just give him money instead? Haha! I so wanted to say something snarky but held off on it, but wow! I mean blind fanaticism is something else. Same friend of mine also thinks an "8" is a low score. I mean, I know games are expensive but since when did an 8 become a low score? Heck, most guys would be happy to get a girl that's "only" an 8.

Haha! I take it you see their CoD-colored glasses as well? I was talking to a friend the other night and he was already talking about how he was going to get MW3. Yep. That's with only seeing the trailers and whatnot. He was asking and implying I should be getting it since he and everybody he can persuade, will get it. I mean, seriously?! 3-5 CoD games not enough? No wonder Activison wont't ever run out of money.

Lol! And what is Strangelove's pet peeve? People against CoD or CoD in general? I know Crecente likes Call of Duty, but the fact that it's affecting some of the content on the site makes it a bit iffy. I mean I prefer BF over CoD games, but I know where to draw the line when it comes to work.

Ok, is it just me or does Kotaku really, really have an Activision, Call of Duty fetish? I mean I get it. The game's a huge draw for hits, blockbuster and whatnot, but they're not like this with other high-profile games...games like Battlefield 3, Uncharted, Skyrim, etc. I remember someone giving me a link that the site even posted news about CoD curtains, boxers or something as inane. In short, they are infatuated with it, or at least Crecente is. Anyone want to take bets that MW3 will be part of Kotaku's GOTY year end balloting? Before you get mad at me or anything, I get that they got the big scoop on MW3, and I am thankful for it. But the site's been this way since last year. I remember a commenter asking why other news that are tipped aren't posted but anything CoD is! I also asked that question. So...you think the eds are chummy with Acti PR, CM or whatnot? Nothing wrong with that, but if it affects your news, then yeah - it's not good for a site that's considered one of the biggest.
