I'm a few hours into Ys I and I'm enjoying it a lot so I decided to grab this one while it's still on sale on PSN. This is an enhanced remake of Ys III, so once I'll have played through the three I have now I'll be all set to grab the new Vita one, which is kinda, sorta a remake of Ys IV.

Yeah, I guess I just needed to use one for more than a few seconds. My only experiences with touch-controlled devices had been when listening to music on my friends' phones or iPods while drinking. I'd either keep accidentally clicking on random shit while trying to scroll or just completely fail at typing on the touch keyboard. My big thumbs still kinda struggle a bit at the latter but I think I'm slowly getting the hang of it.

I just tie notes around rocks and throw 'em through windows. Far more personal. Also, maybe you're not a little girl, but it sounds to me like you got little girl hands.

Cool, good to know.

Finally got my Vita today. Haven't really started any proper games yet but I did play with it for most of the afternoon. Tried demos for Spelunky, Escape Plan and Tearaway. I really liked the last two and will definitely be picking them up at some point. As for Spelunky, I might actually double dip it as, much like Hotline Miami, having a portable version of it sounds kind of awesome. There's actually a few indie titles I'll probably be double dipping. Rogue Legacy and the Binding of Isaac remake are the big ones but I'm also thinking of getting Lone Survivor and maybe Stealth Inc. (Stealth Bastard was such a cooler title...). I thought Limbo was cross-buy but apparently the devs backed out of the program for some reason, so I can't get the Vita version now. That's a bummer but eh, fuck 'em. I'm not rebuying their game. So far, I'm really glad I picked it up. I'm not a huge fan of how the bubble interface looks but it works well enough so who cares. Also, having never owned a smartphone or any kind of touch-based device other than a DS, I thought the touch controls would take some getting used to but it actually feels pretty natural. My biggest issue so far is the back touch panel. I guess my hands are too big because I just can't comfortably hold the system without having most of my fingers all over it. Might have to invest in something like this I'm also definitely gonna have to get a new memory card asap. I only transferred three PSP games on it and it's already almost full. And I still need to somehow get Gravity Rush and Soul Sacrifice on there. 4GB is simply way too small. And speaking of which, holy shit is the memory card ridiculously tiny! It's like a third of the size of the PSP memory sticks. You could probably swallow it and not even realize it. I also expected the game cases to be much bigger, for some reason.

On sale on PSN and the extra PS+ discount brings it just under 10$. I usually wouldn't even consider getting a retail release digitally on a console, but it looks like it's a greatest hits now and I just can't stand those fucking red boxes. Besides, 10 bucks is way too low for me to bother looking on ebay for a vanilla copy. Also PSN. I've been wanting to get into this series for a while and the new one for Vita's been getting some really good buzz, so I figured now was the right time and that this was the logical entry point. I was waiting until I knew for sure my Vita order had gone through but it was 50% off and I think the sale is ending today, so I grabbed it last night.

FFS, EBGames. Will you ship my damn Vita already?! I'm getting kinda nervous here...

I just named the first two ridiculous 60's-type assumptions about what tech we'd have by now that popped into my head.

You know, I wasn't sure about Tearaway but this trailer just sold me on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eK93bHUhSoc Seriously, though. What the fuck is wrong with Japan?

Wow, talk about no sense of boundaries. Might wanna throw away your toothbrush.

3rd Annual PXOD Secret Santa -- Targets Assigned!
toxicitizen replied to P4: Gritty Reboot's topic in Event Planning
I only have experience buying from US Amazon (from Canada) but if it works the same then yeah, you should be able to. The code would probably only work for someone in the UK, though. -
Yeah, the name alone made me doubt it was from here. The thing is, I haven't posted my ID anywhere else recently nor have I posted anywhere where my ID would've been shown. So I'm really not sure where it could be from. Haven't really played anything online in a while either, so I doubt it's someone random I played with. Guess I'll ask next time he/she is online.

Is one of you guys NYCBRKLYNSITH? Got a friend request and no idea who the hell that is.

Yeah, or knowing what your target already owns. It's not really an issue if we make a wishlist thread like last year, though. -

One thing worth noting here is that the new Amazon Playstation Store makes PSN gifting possible. Regional restrictions are easily circumvented and you get a code that you can just give to your target. The codes themselves might only work in NA, though. -
Yeah. Got an error when I tried from the store but it worked from account management in the XMB.

Alright, so I got a year of PS Plus for 30$ off Amazon.com and, as a result, I have a bunch more stuff from the instant games collection. I'm not gonna post pics or even bother listing everything but here are the highlights: PS3: BIT.TRIP Runner 2 Galaga Legions DX Ibb & Obb Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Binary Domain Little Big Planet Karting Vita: Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD WipEout 2048 Gravity Rush Soul Sacrifice Hotline Miami Also, I figured I might as well grab Contrast and Resogun while I still can, so they'll be good to go once I get a PS4. Looks like I'll have to invest in a bigger Vita memory card sooner rather than later...
-
I've wanted to try a Vanillaware game for a while now. Might give Muramasa a shot. Or just grab Odin Sphere off PSN, since that would be cheaper. I really hope Sony makes the PS2 Classics work on the Vita at some point.
-
Yeah, I was planning on getting PS+ specifically for this and Uncharted. Now that I already have Uncharted, though, I was thinking of just getting Gravity Rush from Amazon since it's only 15$ and I was originally going to get P4G from there. But I don't know anymore. Supposedly, there'll be a 30$ deal on PS+ today, so if that happens I might bite. If not, I might try to get a code from the new Amazon PSN store instead. The 30$ deal is already live there. I've been buying Steam keys off US Amazon for a while so I guess I should be good for this as well.
-
180$ for the bundle and 20$ for P4G. Not the most amazing discount but I like to think of it as a regular-priced Persona bundle, which I would be all over if such a thing actually existed. Kinda wish it had come with either another game than Walking Dead or just no game and a bigger memory card, though. Well, I think I could've actually gotten a CoD Black Ops Declassified bundle but... that's actually kinda worse.

Was ready to order it from EBGames.ca at midnight but for some reason all the deals went live... except this one. I shot them a message on twitter and they said it was a known issue and it wouldn't be up until later. Kind of annoying but meh, at least I was able to order this morning. It also came with a free copy of this And finally I was tempted to get this one from PSN because it's currently on sale for 20$ but I'm only getting a 4GB memory stick with the bundle so it wasn't really an option. Luckily, it was back in stock at EBGames this morning, and they had even price matched the PSN deal, so I was able to get everything from one place.
-
Found some stuff I wanted in the "hidden" deals on Steam. Wadjet Eye's point-and-clicks are usually pretty damn good and I got the fourth Blackwell game in some bundle a while back, so I've been looking to pick up the first three for a while. As for La-Mulana, I had heard the name before but it somehow only recently popped up on my radar. They're all pretty cheap, only cost me around 6$ for all four. Anyway, I probably shouldn't spend any more on this sale. I settled on the Vita for my handheld purchase, so I'll be trying to get one from EBGames once their black friday deals go live at midnight and I'm gonna want a game or two to go along with it. I also need make sure I have some money left for the christmas sale...
-
This morning was productive! Instead of paying attention in class, I was browsing r/gamedeals and saw Amazon had finally added Far Cry 3 to their black friday deals. 7.50$ and, thankfully, it's one of the few Ubisoft titles that offer a Steam option. And that was pretty much the entirety of my Steam sale shopping list! I mean, I'm probably going to make a few impulse purchases and there's a few more titles I'll be on the lookout for. But FC3 was pretty much the only game I was 100% going to buy regardless of how good the deal was. I actually almost grabbed it for 15$ a couple weeks ago. Really glad I didn't.
-
Nah, and I don't really plan on getting one anytime soon.
-
Oh, right. I knew I vaguely remembered a thread like this. I'm using it backwards, though. Looking for recommendations rather than making one. I was gonna make this a status update but it got kinda wordy. So, I'm looking to pick up a handheld on black friday and would really appreciate the input of those of you that already own them. Personally, I kinda want the Vita more, purely out of personal preference. But the 3DS seems to have a higher number of interesting games right now, including a bunch of DS games I never got around to getting as well as a small stack I kept when I sold my DS (I just couldn't bring myself to sell the Ace Attorney games). Then again, I also have a few PSP games I got off PSN that I never got around to playing either. Ultimately, I want both systems. So this is more of a "which one should I get now" kinda deal. The deals I've found, assuming they don't sell out in seconds and I can actually grab one, are: The 3DS XL for 150$. No bundle or anything, so I'd have to get a game separately. If I can't get a deal on Vita at all, I'll probably instabuy this simply because of how much cheaper it is. Vita for 180$. I think I'll have to grab the Walking Dead bundle here, which I don't really care for since I already played it on PC and have no interest in replaying it. I really wish they still had that bundle that came with a free year of PS+. Or just one with no game and a bigger memory card. Anyway, EBGames.ca is giving a free copy of Uncharted: Golden Abyss along with it. Seems like a good deal but I was going to get PS+ anyway, specifically because of Uncharted and Gravity Rush both being in the instant games collection. So I don't know anymore... The 3DS seems like the better deal but I keep going back and forth on which one I should get. Got until tomorrow midnight to make up my mind as that's when the deals go live and I suspect they're going to sell out fairly quickly.

While you guys are all moving on to next-gen, I'm going back old school. It finally showed up on PSN today. Not sure what caused this ridiculously late release but whatever, I just can't say no to MGS. Besides, this is pretty much the only title in the entire series that I've never owned at any point, so I just had to buy it.
