  1. I've read up on a couple of articles about the new Tomb Raider, and I must say I'm pretty stoked. I was a fan of the first couple of games, when Tomb Raider was known for it's characteristic platforming, combat, and let's face it - Lara's boobs. But.. the franchise started to go downhill pretty fast. The games didn't renew themselves and both combat and platforming started to feel clunky and messy. Crystal Dynamics obviously noticed this and decided to go a completely different direction. First there was the Tomb Raider spin-off: Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (which, btw, is a great game in my opinion). Now it's time for a complete reboot of the series. From Gameinformer: "In our world-exclusive cover story, we uncover a brand-new Lara Croft. Rebooting the Tomb Raider franchise through an origin story wasn’t so much a choice as an act of necessity, according to Crystal Dynamics. Drastic measures were needed. To build an entirely fresh Lara – a culturally relevant hero worth of the attention that once came so effortlessly – they must break her first. In this new adventure – simply titled Tomb Raider – a younger and inexperienced Lara Croft must endure both physical and emotional trauma to survive." Crystal Dynamics interview Some screenshots:
  2. If I would have to pick one it would have to be Final Fantasy VIII (like I mentioned in the FF thread). I often would start a new game just to look at this: The music and graphics made such a big impression on me, I still love it to this day. (That said - I loved all the FMV's in the game. They were great.)
  3. I've read up on alot of theories and a huge amount of people seem to think AC:B really is Assassins Creed 2.5, but boy the people that decided to skip this game will be very confused when they start AC:3.
  4. If anyone is up for it I'll probably be on tonight (that is - somewhere around 20:00/21:00 GMT).
  5. I wonder when we get to see an actual gameplay video.. The action part is still a bit wacky to me.. moving blocks around and hurrying up to the top of a staircase. I tend to get frustrated when it gets to games, so that doesn't sound promising to me Lots of trial and error here. But I will play it, no matter what the gameplay turns out to be like. Atlus, hurry it up already! Also when it comes to language: I would like to have the Japanese voices, with English subtitles.
  6. I had no idea who's turn it was, I didn't look properly. In that case you should post the next one Gyar, sorry dude.
  7. Quote: "The game begins when Vincent, who has no ambition in work or love runs into the mysterious Catherine one day. At night, he has nightmares. The nightmares serve as an action component for the game. Set in a world with an unending stairway, Vincent has to make it to the top of the stairs, or he will not be able to awaken." More screenshots @ Famitsu Gameplay information Being a Persona fan, I'm really looking forward to this game. We don't know if it gets localized yet.. but I really do hope so.
  8. Mudkip can post a new screenshot now. (He was right, wasn't he Yantelope?)
  9. Smoovy isn't feeling very groovy? D-K, you need to get your lazy butt to your brother so you can get your game back.
  10. We were actually planning on playing Uncharted 2 sometime. You should join! Uncharted 2
  11. I really wouldn't know.. I remember playing Golden Eye and Doom at a friends house.. I think my first very own game was Prince of Persia. It was a floppy disc. Ha.
  12. We were supposed to play tonight? ...
  13. B). You've got to try it, I remember making funny, well.. distorted faces for HOURS.
  14. I totally forgot about some of my favorites: Sea School (not really educational, but we got to play this at school) Funny Face
  15. What did everyone buy off Steam today? I'm not sure what to get..

    1. Mister Jack

      Mister Jack

I bought Amnesia and Plants vs. Zombies.

    2. toxicitizen

      toxicitizen

      I second Plants vs. Zombies.

Also Greed Corp but I haven't tried it yet.

  16. I remember Pajama Sam and Freddie Fish. At the school where I have my internship (I'm an education major at uni) the kids still play Freddie Fish, it's so adorable. Thing is, it's way too difficult for them so they always have to ask me what to do.
  17. No problem. I'm very excited myself, but I hate Naughty Dog for teasing us like this when there's still 11 months to go. *shakes fist* Do you know how hard it is to keep away from all this news? Media blackout hey ho. I do wonder if we're going to get 'monsters' like in the first two games? When I was playing the Uncharted 2 multiplayer for a few mins last night I was amazed by the graphics all over again. The water for one is amazing. I have high hopes for Uncharted 3.
  18. I went with VIII, just because of the nostalgia. It was possibly the first RPG I've ever played, and I just loved (almost) everthing about it. I've played it lots of times and I probably know every single bit of dialogue. The music was GREAT and I would restart the game over and over to watch that first FMV. And yes, Squall was a little bitch. But I loved him nonetheless. It's probably not the best Final Fantasy when it comes to the battle system etc, but to me it's still the best.
  19. Anyone fancy posting the next one?
  20. I finished the SP yesterday. So... What was up with I thought the pacing was SO off. One thing I loved - Any thoughts on the ending would be welcome.
  21. No, it's hilarious. But at the same time I do feel bad for her. Like Pirate said, something must've happened to her.. when she was a kid or something. Birthday party gone wrong?
