  1. $65 actually seems not bad for that considering people want $150 for a light up helghast helmet. I really hope they bring that to the US.
  2. @Dean, well, if we wanted out healtcare to be like yours then yes. I however would prefer to have it go back to individuals rights to purchase health care and get tax breaks themselves as opposed to doing it all through corporations which creates and entire obfuscation layer which is total unnecessary and also prevents any sort of market forces from actually doing their job. The solution is providing more market forces on healthcare not less.
  3. 20XX is always pronounced twenty x-ty x.
  4. Again, I haven't played AC:R but I got the impression from the first 3 games that it was a near future but not a fully present day. I was thinking closer to 2040 or 20xx.
  5. I somehow got a subscription to rolling stone for free from best buy on accident. I think the cashier rang me up for it without asking. I called to cancel it after 2 issues even though it was free because I was so offended by their political drivel.
  6. I would also lean toward "Loo-mins" because that's how you pronounce an actual measure of light the lumen.
  7. French and Indian wars! That'd be popular.
  8. No-gameplay trailers get a big yawn from me.
  9. Oh yeah, I haven't played revelations yet I need to go do that. I'm still finishing Batman AC.
  10. Well the whole employee healthcare thing is kind of a huge mess. I'm not 100% sure so correct me if I'm wrong on this but basically corporations figued out that they could offer "benefits" to employees and those would not count as direct wages and so the companies could in effect pay more to their employees while lowering their tax burden. Congress liked this because it helped increase health coverage which is a good thing. So now most people in the US get part of their medical insurance paid for by their employer. It's generally much more expensive for an individual or family to purchase medical care for themselves and you almost certainly can't get your employer to just give you cash instead of the benefits. The whole system is complete nonsense at this point. It's a major reason why healthcare costs are out of control in the first place.
  11. Well, all we have to go off of is a name. http://www.joystiq.c...-on-october-30/ I wonder what era it'll be.
  12. Patching does suck if only because of how slow the process is. In a normal game the developer just issues the patch. In the case of Red Faction Guerrilla the patch goes back and forth in the MS approval process and gets released a year after the game is out and long after you've lost interest in the game.
  13. Whats really sad is that as I recall Mr. Popper's Penguins is a book that actually has a plot that could have easily been a movie but Hollywood decides it'd rather recycle the same movie for the 100th time.
  14. Maybe GFWL is smarter than you think and it's punishing you for being a pirate!

I think this happened at the original restaurant, as well, a couple of years ago. But, if this person had a heart attack at one of those salad restaurants, shit wouldn't be news.

    2. ADIRTYWINDOW

      ADIRTYWINDOW

Holy Shit! Those types of places actually exist? I thought gta4 just exaggerated the "heart-stopper".

Yeah, the guy used to operate a Jenny Craig and got pissed because fat people just stay fat so he started this place as a bit of reverse psychology.

  15. Saw Mr. Popper's Penguins last night and I'd like to say that the plot "divorced man gets new job/pet/other thing and reunites family" is getting really really old. It's catching up to the romantic comedy as the most predictable plot of all.
  16. Well, you only have one gold account and Netflix requires your gold account. When you start any GFWL game you have to log in, no offline mode, and so it logs you out of your xbox. So my wife will yell downstairs "Why did you log me out?". Then she can log back into the account up there and the GFWL game will go into offline. It's kind of a pain but not a huge inconvenience.
  17. I have specifically had the neftlix thing happen as posted above although usually netflix will finish whatever show you're watching you just have to sign back in before you can start a new show. It doesn't kick you off immediately.
  18. I mean, even if that is the position shouldn't that just be listed as part of your job benefits? I mean, when you're deciding where to work don't you still have the freedom to choose an employer who does provide insurance for transfusions? I don't really see how it's discriminatory if it's applicable to all employees.
  19. Hmmm, I did find this: http://www.escapistm...ights-Objection A bit of a long read.
  20. I don't think it's exactly comparable to equal opportunity employment because you'd be denying the same medical coverage to all your employees right? Nobody could get contraceptives regardless of race or gender so I guess you have equity in that regard.
  21. Actually, legally I don't think you have to provide paid maternity leave (at least not in Texas). You just have to provide unpaid leave for up to 12 weeks I believe. And also what Ethan said. It's a pain of a question because you're talking about freedom of religion vs. anti discrimination.
  22. So basically a tamer form of Judge Dredd?
  23. yeah, and the fact that solar panels never actually pay for themselves doesn't help much either.
  24. Green energy is not faring very well right now. I was actually trying to specify solyndra panels for a project when they died. Then the company who was selling us panels died too.....
