"What's in the pot?", "Soup. Elf an' onion. Gooood. Want try?", "I don't really care for onions"

Check out that new bloke Sergeant Angel. Look at his arse.

  3. Breaking Bad and Sons of Anarchy are on Netflix.
  4. I think my limit was $49.99 for Half-Life 2 back in 2003 (pre-ordered it then). I don't know if I've come close to that since...
  5. I wonder if that's how they calculated it, or if they took the number of downloads and tried to go for statutory and punitive damages. Either way it's ridiculous.
  6. I never got the MMO thing. Boundless potential, doesn't deliver on the promises of the genre. I had a friend that played WoW for a couple weeks straight and realized he was sinking his life into it, so he managed to get out before it got crazy.
  7. Sorry to interrupt this Avengers thread with the Last Good Movie I Saw, but Jumanji was pretty entertaining. Just a fun watch, nothing more or less. WHAT YEAR IS IT
  8. Roy Dotrice, great voice for this sort of thing. He also played the Pyromancer in Season 2.
  9. Dinklage is the only one to get it right--he's not doing British; he's doing Westerosi. All the other actors are simply mediocre, and as such can only pull off British.
  10. Yeah, it's supposed to be like that I believe. Especially since the Wall is supposed to be like Hadrian's Wall on crack.
  11. I love the Sony movies wherein a random PSP is tossed in. By far the worst product placement I've seen is in the later episodes of Bones, where whole chunks of dialog are devoted to fawning over their new Toyota vehicles (all of them mysteriously replaced their Chevys with Toyotas during a season break). It was so obnoxious:
  12. The Max Payne poster is a nice touch.
  13. Yeah, I loved MW3's singleplayer campaign, but if I had to pay cash monies for it I would have been disappointed at the value. Though I guess two runs through (one on Hardened, one on Veteran) plus the 30 hours I put into co-op and 5 hours of adversarial wouldn't have been too bad of a deal for $60. Sadly there's no Spec Ops for BO2.
  14. Yes, Hot Heart, it was terrible. There are even errors in the CGI if you look close enough (clipping polys, etc.).
  15. Some of them are similar to the original levels but with a "wrench" thrown in to make it harder. However, some of them are completely redesigned altogether. Definitely worth playing through.
  16. Anyone here dabble in chiptunes or original compositions? Looking for something to use for potential PXOD original video content.

My doppelgänger makes chiptunes?! I've got some training to do.

      There can only be one!

Training montage! Featuring Push it To the Limit (because Eye of the Tiger is fucking awful.)

That Karate Kid song would also be an acceptable substitute.

  17. Redundancy/being let go is best for getting benefits in the U.S. for sure.
  18. I don't personally understand the claim that the writing is bad. It is simplistic at times, and GRRM prefers telling things plainly in prose rather than leaning toward the poetic. But it is easy to understand, highly descriptive, and at times beautiful. Some of my favorite quotes from the novels (ADWD actually, a teensy bit spoilery but no plot points really): His language is stark and harsh, much like the winter enveloping the land. His novels depict brutal, cold realities, and in that vein I feel the prose works very nicely. I can see why some might be turned off to it compared with some of the more eloquent authors out there, but it fits the complexity and tone of the world.
  19. I'm curious what you thought of it. I was a little disappointed my first read through--in fact it was the only ASOIAF book that I put down for a few weeks and finished off later. I am a few chapters into my second reading, and I'm enjoying it a lot more now. I'm catching foreshadowing and neat little references I missed on the first time through.
