  1. Yeah so I watched The Shining and the first Alien movie for the first time. Both were fantastic. Love how they aren't afraid to draw out shots to build tension and atmosphere. Alien was particularly wonderful. Now onto Aliens!
  2. Recently bought The Shining for $6 and Alien/Aliens double feature for $10.
  3. Bought Unreal Tournament III used at the thrift store for $1.50, works online. Awesome.
  4. Bought UT3 at the thrift store for $1.48, figuring key would be no good online. Friggin activated on Steam like a boss.

  5. Glad to hear you liked it. I'll probably try to see it this weekend.
  6. Bla bla what have I bought recently... Got the Humble Bundle for Android 2... I think that's it. A bit strapped for cash for a while, targeting ME3 once the price comes down a touch.
  7. Doing a search for old emails, came across this Kotaku newsletter headline: "Even If Yoshi Is Gay, Where are the Other Gay Video Game Heroes?"

Not even going to bother looking up the article, but man, Kotaku. So much failure.

  8. I'm on board for the lulz. You should definitely match up similar games though in the early rounds. So Mario might go up against Sonic, Call of Duty against Halo, etc. So opponents that are wildly different don't get involved til the later rounds.
  9. Basically, evaluation of a game is either done against its value and pricepoint, or in a void intentionally ignorant of those factors. The first sort is useful for consumers, the second sort is useful for game enthusiasts and designers interested in commentary devoid of reference to price.
  10. Rebought after losing disc years ago

Bleurgh! I'd be lucky to make it through a pint of the black stuff without feeling sick, let alone all of that. Bailey's coffee is win though.

      Your pooing black right now.

  12. I find people who like folder hierarchies and Outlook's look & feel like Hotmail quite a bit.
  13. Can't believe Bulbasaur is losing... best 'Mon for the first few gym battles. Seriously underrated
  14. I know I'm not the majority demographic by a long shot, but I do not buy DLC. I'm not morally opposed to it--if it helps devs stay alive, all the better--but I just haven't seen the value in it. As far as "brand degradation" goes, there's some truth to it. Valve never milks their franchises with DLC, and they're still one of the only companies I will pre-order games from, because I know they will support the release. Other devs/pubs are often really a case-by-case basis.
  15. Amazon MP3 and Google Play's price war is seriously hurting my wallet

make sure you get Pocket League Story for $0.50. It's so addictive.

  16. I'd have to go back to read the exact tactical reasoning behind the decision. There is a chapter wherein Robb & Catelyn are poring over maps discussing what would be the best course of action, and they describe the situation pretty well.
  17. I will buy a Wii U, given the price is reasonable, near launch. Nintendo hasn't failed to make their home consoles worth the money for me yet. They tend to be the perfect little companions to my more "hardcore" PC gaming.
  18. Couldn't resist for a quarter... (shifty eyes) http://www.amazon.com/Own-The-Night-Digital-Booklet/dp/B005IF5H2S/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1331232945&sr=8-2
  19. Any UT enthusiasts know what the community reaction was to UT3? I can't seem to get into the demo like UT04

Great mainstream reviews... Was that the one where you could get knocked off your feet? I had a demo for a little while and was thrilled it ran well on old hardware, but the fun wasn't there. Though the best I've played is still UT 1... countless hours in that game.

Yeah I love UT2K. I still need to re-buy it since I lost my discs.

I've got to agree the original UT was definitely the best. UT3 wasn't bad but eh something just felt off after a while.

  20. Samuel Adams was a smart guy. Also he makes great beer.
  21. A good massive map, some pieces are speculation I believe.
