Torchlight is a fun game, and really scratched that Diablo itch. I'll be interested in seeing how it translates to a controller scheme though.

htc (and hell, even motorola with the Droid 1) has the nice habit of releasing sources for the hardware / software updates something Samsung is not doing, except for with the Euro Galaxy S (I9000). This is preventing the developers from making CM work with the Galaxy S devices, especially since each one has different features / lacking features. The Galaxy S phones have top notch hardware, the software behind it sucks (as evidenced in the difference between the Galaxy S and Nexus S), and there is basically no support (with the exception of the Vibrant and Euro GS), with the GS2 coming out. As for choosing roms, it's all based on what you are looking for. Right now I just want something stable and running 2.2. In my case cognition is built off an official 2.2 release, so I'm going with that. ... and maybe I'm misunderstanding what you are asking.

Since the Galaxy S line up isn't supported by CM thanks to Samsung, I'm currently running Cognition 3.04. It's not AOSP ROM, its a ROM built / tweaked off Touchwiz. 3.0 uses the official 2.2 update for the Canadian / Rogers version of Captivates, with all the settings / locale changed for Americans. So far its worked rather well for me, its just nice having 2.2 I'm debating trying out Phoenix, because it's built off a leaked 2.2.1 update

yea, there's a standard dock, then the the laptop dock, that's basically a psu, dock, screen, and keyboard, and uses the device as the brains / guts of the "laptop" The "laptop" dock costs a bundled $500 if you get both the device and the dock at launch, or $200 (upgrade / new contract) for the device, and an additional $500 if you wait and get the laptop dock down the line. And on top of that they are making you pay extra for a tethering plan on top of your standard data plan, when the phone is the guts and modem so you really aren't tethering... :head asplode: wtf

yea mine is p crazy too, I just keep bumping new movies to the the top. Currently we have The Town and RED, still need to watch the former.

well, give us some impressions when you get a chance. Samsung isn't making things easy on the CM devs, to the point where the SGS isn't currently officially supported by CM. I keep hearing its the best custom rom out there, also being completely AOSP. Better battery life, neat features (like the unlock gestures in CM6), more responsive. The other great thing about CM and other custom roms is they give new life and support to devices that have been abandoned by their manufacturers. Not getting an official Froyo / Gingerbread update? Look to your dev community. I'll probably never see an official 2.2 update for my AT&T Captivate, but I'm running 2.2 on it anyway. 2.3 is being worked on atm as well.

Charging $500 for the phone + "laptop" dock, and requiring the additional cost of a tethering plan? Even though the phone is the brains of the "laptop" and doing all the connectivity work? Charging $500 for those who want to wait on the laptop dock? I think my next AT&T phone is going to be the HTC Inspire (basically a Desire HD with HSPA+), even though its older hardware (second generation snapdragon 1ghz single core), just because HTC has a better track record of software updates, as well as dev support, meaning CM7 should be on it by the time I'm eligible for an upgrade this year. That is unless a better HTC phone comes out between now and then, or the Nexus S goes to AT&T with a subsidy. (pshyea right)

we just like movies, and truth be told, I didn't have many until I married my wife and her dvd collection. Two honest things that told me she was the one: We went to her house and she showed me her entire collection of Monty Python's Flying Circus. The fat separate collections, not the thinpacks. We watched Eddie Izzard's Dressed To Kill at my place after telling me she never heard of him, she bought a copy the next day.
