  1. That's completely fine with me, and something I agree with. I just didn't like the way the information was being misconstrued and unfairly reported out-of-context in a number of cases.
  2. I just saw this alternate ending for the upcoming Yogi Bear movie, and thought it was... interesting... is that the right word...
  3. Yes, not the smartest thing to do, but I imagine this happens everywhere including businesses that sell other things to consumers. I'm sure someone at Microsoft for example has jokingly called their customers "peasants" or something in the past in a private conversation, but I wouldn't expect that to be taken out of context whenever MS screws up something next and made out to look like it has something to do with whatever mistake they make. It's more the out-of-context reporting that annoys me here.
  4. I'm just saying that it's bad reporting that has gotten people to think the "peasants" comment was a reaction to a huge loss of usernames and passwords that just happened, which it wasn't. Yes, overall it shows that the staff that run and manage the site are incompetent, and should have fixed this problem a while back, but people shouldn't be getting so upset at the writers about this comment, when their comment has little to do with the current issue.
  5. Finds it slightly ironic that his signing up with his Facebook account to comment kept him safer than if I signed up with a separate account...

  6. Okay, it's not great that it shows that show users/passwords were leaked before this case, but that image been made out to look like it was said about this situation, which actually it has little to do with.
  7. From the Forbes blog (emphasis by me): http://blogs.forbes.com/firewall/2010/12/13/the-lessons-of-gawkers-security-mess/
  8. I still can't work out what the big deal is about the "peasants" comment. From what I understand it was seemingly a joke comment by one of the Gawker writers made in June on a private chat that has been badly reported to look like it was them saying that it doesn't matter that the commenter's passwords had been hacked, which it had nothing to do with.
  9. It does seem awfully crazy that they seem to have continued with the same that got hacked. I know they want people to continue commenting, but if it hasn't been fixed properly and could get hacked again, it should be fixed so it can't happen again.
  10. I already have the OST saved And a fantastic one it is.
  11. Transformers: The Movie and A Knight's Tale. Both films I've seen too many times, though I haven't watched AKT for a couple of years *eyes up copy to put on 360 next* A Knight's Tale is a favourite cos I enjoy films that mix comedy and action, so I also like Rush Hour, Shanghai Noon/Nights, Get Smart (Remake). I think it comes from my love of Spider-Man and his quips when he fights. Then Transformers is definitely a thing from my childhood. Anything that transformed was awesome to me, and the best of those were always G1 Transformers, with the film being the definite high-point.
  12. I second the Oldboy scene. Fantastic film. I push for two scenes from Transformers: The Movie #1 - "No Matter The Cost" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8-M0aRwMjg&feature=player_detailpage#t=183s #2 - "Arise, Rodimus Prime" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDxqdfvieyE
  13. My Dad has always watched the Star Trek series, but I never really got into them myself. That being said, I went and saw the new film at the cinema and thought it was great stuff.
  14. So, while Kotaku does post some stuff about Japan, there isn't much actual anime discussion. Just wondering who else around here enjoys anime, and what your favourite series are, and if you're watching anything at the moment? My favourite series has to DragonBall Z, although admittedly it can tedious at times. Other favourites of mine are the Ghibli movies like Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke and Kiki's Delivery Service. Along with those, am a mecha fan with shows like Gundam Wing, SEED, Macross Frontier and Plus. As I write this, I'm watching Gonzo's movie "Origin: Spirits of the Past" for a second time. Not the greatest film ever, but very well animated and enjoyable enough to watch to past the time.
  15. I really like my Dreamcast, but I don't have many games that make it worth setting up except for Sonic Adventure 1.
  16. Bejeweled 3 and Alan Wake when I decide to load something up to play
  17. From when I went to the Mick Foley book signing in Manchester the other week:
  18. Hey there! I be Jimmeh, was over on the free forum for a couple of days, and just saw the link for this place over on #Speakup, so thought I'd make an appearance here now As for a little bit more about me, I'm from the North-West of England, mostly play solo games on the 360, and am also an anime fan. Been gaming since I was old enough to move a joystick, starting with the classic Atari 2600 and 5200 and then moving onto the Sega Master System and Mega Drive Though I did also have a NES and SNES, but mostly stuck to the Sega consoles.
