It's got the quote from Smooves in your post. No one will think you're an emocentric, emomaniac. I miss when the forum used to warn me that I'd been beaten to the punch.

Thing is if I say to the average guy "Spiderman looks emo." They will know that I mean moody or sulky, with hair covering half his face. If I say he looks "scene" they will tell me I'm talking "crap". It's sorta like how everyone calls a portable music player an "iPod" these days. Yes, iPod refers to a very specific type of music player, which may in fact differ greatly from what they are trying to describe, but I pretty much get the gist of what they are referring to and I never lecture them about the difference between a "media player" and an "iPod", you never get any thanks for it. Besides which, he does look emo.

Seriously? No Ico or Shadow? On the BF copied MW boxart thing... take a look at the box art for MoH and CoD games, you will see that MoH pioneered the "guy on the right looking back over his shoulder" boxart, which CoD shamefully copied. It seems there is some sort of consensus on how FPS covers should look. We've been through a phase of dude walks towards camera, with smaller vehicles / people around them. New CoD and Bad Co. At the moment we're heading into "Dude on his own looks over shoulder." territory (see new MoH and Crysis 2 for reference). I quite like Bulletstorm's "Kick you in the face while shooting a big ol' gun and leashing some other dude in the air" cover.

Games that you hate that everyone else seems to like

Super Meat Boy. Don't see what the fuss is about. WoW. Not into mmorpg's generally. CoD. Seriously, what is the attraction here over any other FPS? BioShock. I sort of liked it, but I wasn't compelled to finish it. I think I got to the point where you are collecting bees or some such. Bayonetta, got bigged up but is in fact a DMC clone, except that the enemies are utterly abstract and therefore I don't give a toss about them. I liked the enemies in DMC, there was something primal about them, the reapers, the marionettes, all that stuff. In Bayonetta it was just a bunch of brass meccano with a ceramic mask on it somewhere. I don't necessarily "hate" any or all of these, just I don't particularly like them. Regarding God of War 3, there's nothing quite as cheap as the Hade's Spiked Columns, (which I hate beyond my ability to express), but the vents were a tad tiresome. On the whole though, that game was flippin' awesome. -
The "Da-da-de-da-da Code" just getting into it. The writing style is a little... cumbersome though.

Games you like that everyone else seems to hate

I also liked FFX-2 and FFXII. With the same Vaan, jpop caveats. I liked... Army of TWO. Yes it was dumb, yes it was a jock bromance, but it was a fun 2 player co-op where co-op mode was more than just re-skinning a character and upping the enemy count. The co-op was local as well, which is a huge bonus because I have real life friends. -

Not 100% sure on this, but, I'm like... 86% certain that some of that Jekyll series was shot at EA's old Chertsey HQ. The same building that was used in Inception for "paradox training".

Wasn't a fan of the Christmas episode, but there we go. Looking forward to the new series though. I'm quite liking this new Doctor. Also, Amy Pond is hawt.

Haha, yeah, I think Dean's been corralling us back into the fold.

So, it's an even split so far. My choices were both based on personal grudges / positive experiences. I go to Kotaku (though not as much as I used to) for the community. News I can find for myself.

They describe the pictures, using those things you normally find in speech bubbles called "words".

Having finished Brotherhood I now have to choose between: Dead Space, BioShock, Brutal Legend, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, GT5, Castlevania Lords of Shadow and Dead Rising 2. I'm tempted to stick them on easy and crash through the story of Dead Space, BioShock and Castlevania. Dead Rising 2 is gonna take ages and Brutal Legend... I don't know if I want to play it. Tonight, Dead Space methinks. I need to beat it before my dad does. I will not have a 65 year old finish a game before I do.

I'm a stupid stupid early adopter. I'll get one as soon as it hits the UK, then I'll get the 3DSXL when that comes out. How annoying.

You're a minority. All TAYers are automatically in the clear. Books are the things you put in a pile so that your Kinect sensor is the correct height off the ground to work properly.

Yeah, I wouldn't put Tron in the "last Great Movie You Saw" thread. But it's a good fit here. Also, good to see an 3D used creatively, rather than tacked on. I liked the flat "real world" to 3D "grid" contrast.

It's the name of a character in a series of books by my current fave author. My PSN id is another character from those books. I hate having ID's / User names with random characters in the middle or numbers at the end, the majority of fictional characters that have appeared in games or on TV have already been taken, so I went with something that the majority of gaming plebians would not even have heard of.

Tron: Legacy. No it isn't perfect, but I really enjoyed it. So there.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. Well the main story part.

The rampant sycophancy shown once Denton, Nolan and Lawson showed up was sickening. Then Lawson bemoaning his heartbreak really pissed me off.
