  1. I'm enjoying the game, but I am finding Grace's voice acting sooooooo annoying. "W-w-what's going on?" What's going on is that you are a grown-ass woman who is working a full-time job as a bloody FBI analyst, but you seem unable to even string a sentence together. Like, fine, when you are being confronted by some eldritch horror trying to eat your face, understandable to lose the plot a bit. But when you are in a room talking to a blind eight year old girl who is locked in a cell, maybe you could show a teensy bit of backbone?
  2. I think I have nearly finished my first run through. Tempted to go for the plat, but it does require a Lunatic mode run... I'm loving it.
  3. I completed Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores, enjoyed getting back into it. Took me a while to hit my stride, but such a fun game once you get in the groove. Also finished Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 campaign.
  4. Majora's Mask is my favourite Zelda game, by far. The time thing doesn't matter. You are basically playing as Phil Connors in Groundhog Day. Skills/abilities you learn (songs, masks, etc.) carry forward (or rewind depending on your pov) with you to the next (or last) run through. IIRC you can eventually unlock a song that skips forward (or back) to the start of the loop. Most of the quests will have a sort of soft checkpoint, where you learn a thing that allows you to pick up midway through. Once you get over the heebie-jeebies of being "on the clock" you realise time doesn't matter.
  5. Oh it's worse than that. You need to get an A rank or better on Hardcore mode. So they really make you suffer before improving the quality of life. Once they do though, it's suuuuuch a relief. The downside is that she clanks everywhere she goes instead.
  6. Oh yeah. The first time you play through it, those bits are rough. Then in NG+ Ashley has a suit of armour on which means she cannot be hurt, or carried. It makes the game 1,000 times funner.
  7. Why is "Content not viewable in your region" such a popular game on this forum?
  8. Completely agree. Like that it is an effective way of making you consider whether it is worth the noise of blasting a bunch of zombies, running around etc. vs playing more stealthily, but making him go away is a bit... tedious, whether you do it by shaking him off and getting some distance (normally in the wrong direction for your current objective), or by hiding in a safe room till he resets.
  9. iirc there are certain story beats where he disappears till you hit the next trigger, I looked up when those were and spent that time exploring everywhere I could before hitting the next trigger. It would be nice if there was a toggle or something for frequency of appearances so you could play a more "casual" mode.
  10. Ghost of Yotei (coming soon to a "GotY" thread near you!) Enjoying Atsu's story, love the switching between past and future (shoutout to how quick and seamless switching between past and present, and fast travel is - it's a technical marvel). I do sorta wish perfect dodge and perfect parry were unlocked from the start as I am very used to those mechanics. Also, no idea how long I have to play to unlock the "listen" ability... It's wild to me that it wasn't there from the start. I checked the controls, saw "listen" is "Hold R3", held R3 and, nothing. Assuming it is an ability unlock at some point, but given how crucial situational awareness is, I think it is mad not to have it unlocked in the early tutorial section.
  11. VII and X remain my favourites. Probably driven as much by nostalgia for my school years as actual technical brilliance.
  12. How many times is Sekiro gonna die in the anime? Cos if it is anything like my playthrough there's gonna be whole episodes of him running back to fight father owl over and over again.
  13. "Something something Europe would fit inside Texas something something..."
  14. It's my second one now, had an ID4 before. I bloody love them. The whole "EV range anxiety" thing I'm convinced is only experienced by people who don't drive electric. Also, this thing is fucking rapid. Like my ID4 used to go pretty quick, but the upgraded motors on the new models, not only go way further, but sooooo much faster. I did a 150mile round trip at the weekend, it used to take around 70% of the battery in my ID4, now only takes 50%, and that's without me even trying to be economical.
  15. Got myself a new whip... a VW ID5 in "Costa Azul" Blue. It's so pretty.
  16. That's what I meant by iii) I never did last time out. This time, I might be persuaded to upgrade to OLED mid-gen, but probably not.
  17. Getting it for Duskbloods, and I have an OG switch, so won't notice a "downgrade" from OLED. Absolutely nuts that they have not launched with OLED, but I guess it is due to either i) it would push the price up another $50-$100; ii) There are supply chain issues with OLED screens; and/or iii) they want to sell LCD screens, and then more OLEDs when they drop.
  18. Well, this thread got terrifying. I know (or rather trust) that you are all sensible people, so the fact that you feel that the increased risk of having a gun in your home (statistically one is more likely to be wounded by a weapon in one's home than a random one belonging to someone else) is necessary due to the current state of affairs is chilling. I hope you are all ok.
  19. I played this on a flight, love the surrealism. It smacks of the animation bits in Monty Python. Has a little bit of untitled goose game vibes too.
  20. "Super Switch" with a cool, lightning-bolt font would be amazing. Looking forward to picking up my Nintendo SS
  21. Well yeah, but there are always folks out there who will swear blind that can perceive a 0.00001Hz difference, so I'm holding space for them.
  22. I'd be stunned if a normal human could tell the difference between 144Hz and 165Hz unless they were side by side.
