  1. Aaaaand Woz speaks on the issue! Finally, at last. http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2010/12/steve-wozniak-to-the-fcc-keep-the-internet-free/68294/
  2. Hahaha. I should take this GIF and make it my new sig. http://guybrushshutsstanthehellup.ytmnd.com/

  3. There, I made it better. There, I made it even MORE better.
  4. That's what Bill Gates also said about 640K…
  5. Better get used to calling him Shipwreck then. Also, hi, do you remember me?
  6. I've been nostalgia tripping a lot lately, you could say… it's not really nostalgia for me if I've never experienced it before, though. I've been catching up on a lot of New Wave stuff; I just finished reading Watchmen this weekend, and I'm going to see if my library has a copy of Swamp Thing. I've also been trying to look out for some Frank Miller issues, most notably The Dark Knight Returns. Also been trying to find that Joker origin story by Moore, which was The Killing Joke, I think. Why, because you're afraid that Quasimodo might find your address and go to your house one day?
  7. Tika Masala (aka in HINDI: चिकन टिक्का मसाला) is a Scottish food now? lol wut.
  8. I'm not too sure, to be honest. There hasn't been any clear objective statement on what's the actual deal on this new legislation, so right now, I'm just trying to assemble everything piecemeal from all of the news sites reporting on this. So far, I've gotten information from NPR, Wall Street Journal, and a MSNBC op-ed piece (only because Wilson Rothman penned it). I'm still waiting for some good objective analysis on the situation, but until then, I've kind of had to make my own. You mean this kind of sauce?
  9. So, in case you guys have not been keeping up with the latest news on Net Neutrality, just this morning, FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski just set out a major new set of guidelines this morning, preventing ISPs from blocking access to a web service (such as blocking Netflix because it infringes on that ISP's video-on-demand service). However, it leaves many open loopholes in the new regulation, such as in the regulation of wireless internet services: wireless providers would be allowed to "block other applications, however, that they say could take up too much bandwidth on wireless networks." But, the other thing I am worried about in the new ruling is this major defeating compromise: The rules would allow phone and cable companies to offer faster, priority delivery services to Internet companies willing to pay extra. All this does, in my opinion, is to just open the door for companies to set up tiered data services as in how much data you can use per month, and would simply move innovation up to the higher tiers, leaving us laypersons on the dirt road to be penniless. So, basically, mobile phone companies are allowed to block other applications in favor of their own, in the name of "taking too much bandwidth," and opening up the doors for the ISPs to set up toll roads, with the higher data tiers favoring the content of a select few companies that opt-in. Honestly, I wish that these rules are rejected, if they're just going to be a shortsighted and shorthanded compromise that does not satisfy anyone except for the telcos and ISPs. While I am an ardent supporter of net neutrality, it's an all-or-nothing case for me. Now, maybe one of you could persuade me to the other side?… but I have low hope at the moment. Also, as a major request, please refrain from turning this topic into a trolling flame war. I want to see people actually debate amongst one another, not claw at each other like leetle kitty cats. Thanks.
  10. Haha, all those 3 birds need are to wear some shades over their eyes and have a caption underneath saying, "LIKE A BOSS." Whoa, cá chép Koi?! Đẹp quá! Are these your own koi, or did you just take a picture at your local fish pond or something? I am honestly still amazed by your skill to grow orchids during winter time. Erm… I'm going to guess… Monterey? Salinas? Santa Barbara? I know for a fact that the sky ain't this beautiful once you go north of Santa Cruz, so that eliminates half of this state's coastline.
  11. I'd post some pictures from my Astronomy Escapade tonight, but my pictures of the moon are so blurry, thanks to my cheap Canon point-and-shoot's crappy photo sensor, that they just look terrible on a whole. :'( I did manage to capture a pretty cool, if generic-looking, low-shutter effect thanks to the magic of no flash settings.
  12. Wait. So Gawker's been selling crack and whores by the pound at the back of their New York offices? All of a sudden, I feel so dirty…

    Help!

Get a computer that utilizes a mouse with more than one button. Then get back to me. Hey! No fair! You edited your post to say "one button" instead of "two buttons!" Still, it's kind of a moot point, I guess, considering that I just opened up Chrome, and the RTF in there works much better than it ever did in OmniWeb. How about giving us the ability to change our own nick (as in the use of "c hoez" to represent clownshoes69), though? I don't want to have to contact an admin every time I want to change my nick (not my username, just to clarify that).

  17. Any way we could widen the status updates box on our profile page? Seems kinda weird to have it that narrow, especially since the update box on the front page is much wider. Maybe the width for the status updates on on our profile pages could be updated to the width on the front page?

    Help!

Since your name now appears as "Mudkip" for me, I assume that you found it. Actually, that's not what happened. A few hours after I posted that, I noticed that my name was changed to just "Mudkip," and yet I still never got a call or reply back on how I could do it myself in the future. So, I'm just as confused as you are, really. Telling me what browser you are using and which version might be helpful. Well, this may not help much, since my browser is pretty much only found on a Mac, but here's the details.
  19. I always joke to myself that man has gotten so lazy over the last half of the 20th century that he can't even be bothered to say two syllables in a row anymore, thus the preference for saying "gay" over "stupid." And, of course, choosing to type out "nub" instead of "n00b" or "newbie. " To be perfectly honest here, though, whenever someone uses "gay" as a general insult, it really comes off as immature and childish to me. I'm just thinking in my head, "Seriously? Are you 16 or something? Give it a break, man."
  20. t's not much at the moment (read: still incomplete), but I made these Guybrush MI2 Emoticons for fun: http://j.mp/i4x9Ea As soon as I figure out how to make animated GIFs, progress can continue!

Fun coincidence: I finished MI2 a few hours before you posted this. Looks awesome, btw.

  21. Augh! Tali's new avatar stare scares me… As for you, Dean, GIFs play (much) faster in Firefox than they do in WebKit-based browsers, so unless you're using Firefox right now, your eyes are probably being deceived and there's actually no difference.
