  1. Funny, because I think I would be happier if I was less fat.
  2. Two Chipotle burritos. Soooo delicious.
  3. Finally accepted my Google Music Beta invite and got it all set up: how the hell has nothing like this ever existed prior to now? Seriously, this may just be the best damn thing I've ever seen.

What are you talking about? Stuff like this has existed before.

Also not to blow your mind even more, but search for "AudioGalaxy" or "SubSonic"

  4. I play drums. Have for about 10 years now. I don't own anything fancy, because I don't see it as a viable money-making opportunity, but I am pretty damn good. At least I like to think so.
  5. This. My guess is $299.
  6. No word yet. I actually assumed it would be native when Geoff Keighly was interviewing Reggie, because Reggie kept saying "it's 1080p" rather than just "it's HD", but it could just be ad jargon. I'm also surprised Keighly didn't address how many controllers this system would be able to use simultaneously. I also imagine Reggie would've deflected had he asked. Perhaps they didn't get specific because it's something that will likely change in the upcoming months. Honestly, the less info the nail do early on the better. That way there is always room to grow and expand a little bit.
  7. Have you ever voice chatted on that thing? It sounds like your microphone is in a blender half the time. Although, that may just be the VOIP codec they use. Perhaps headset-to-console could be clearer...
  8. Yeah, to everyone saying that what the Wii U does can be achieved with a PS3/Vita: while it's possible, that would require a $250 drop on the handheld, another drop on the game, and then the cost of the PS3. At least $600. The Wii U requires no repurchasing of games, and you can bet your ass it will be less than $400 - my guess is $299. Plus, developers would have to develop PS3/Vita specific control functions for Sony, while Nintendo versions could have it be mandatory, thus cutting your work in half. I dunno, I think Sony will do something to counter this news (they kind of have a history of it), but I don't think it will take off like the Wii U will. That's my $0.02.
  9. If you are limited to only one of these controllers on the system, then Nintendo will have done something wrong. I know the amount of processing power it would take to push four unique HD streams to the controllers, but if you can't do it for all the players, don't do it at all.
  10. The bird demo was alright, not great. I can't decide if it was the stream I was seeing, or just being underwhelmed. Although, the AC: Revelations pre-rendered trailer looked amazing, and it was from the same stream. @Cave: Everyone who has gone hands-on with the controller has already said that it is surprisingly comfortable to hold, also.
  11. They've always had a good working relationship with IBM. I'd honestly be surprised if they ever went any other direction.
  12. Are you sure you weren't watching the Ghost Recon:Online Free2Play version? (Their Battlefield Play4Free) No, I'm talking about Future Soldier, specifically that demo they showed of the Ghosts moving through that village, rescuing hostages and whatnot. It just looked muddy, sluggish and boring.
  13. I seriously don't get what all the hate is about... They didn't show anything other than the controller, because the system probably won't come out for another year or longer. The only reason they announced anything at this E3 is because they want great 3rd party support, and you can't keep a very good secret if you're sending dev kits all across the globe. The controller looks slick. Is it hard to hold a book, a plate, or a magazine? No, of course not. It won't be hard to hold this thing either. I think the possibilities are very good, but it is disappointing that they didn't have anything concrete to show along with the controller, but that just goes along with how far out the system is. The system is obviously more powerful than a Xbox 360 or PS3. If I had to guess, it would be the equivalent of a high-end, current computer, because of how cheap those parts are to manufacture nowadays. The name is... dumb, but I get that too. They've made a quite a name for themselves with the Wii, specifically regarding casual gamers. If moms and pops hear that a new Wii has come out, that will mean a lot more to them than if they hear that the Stream just came out. I'm optimistic, but not getting my hopes too high. The support from people like EA and Ken Levine is great - GREAT - but only time will tell if it is actually going to be fruitful. Seriously people, just give it time.
  14. Cross promotion! With corporate sponsorships by Quiznos!
  15. We have to do things different than everyone else, dammit! Although, not many countries outside of Europe drive on the left side of the road, so we're kind of like the cool kids for that, right? Also, it comes out 12 days before my birthday. Too bad for my wife, I'll be buying it on the 6th anyways,
  16. I think it looks great. I love coop gameplay when it genuinely feels like each person plays an integral role (L4D, comes to mind). I messaged my friend who works for Insomniac (Community Manager) and asked him if the characters are interchangeable, or if each one brings something truly unique to the table. I will update if I hear back from him.
  17. While I agree with you that Nintendo didn't think this one through well enough, and that Sony is doing everything right with the Vita (on paper), I don't think any amount of preparedness would have changed Nintendo's price point on the 3DS. They will never, under any circumstances, take a loss on a system. They haven't done it since the SNES, I think. They think they can get away with charging what they do because the public perception of 3D is that it's expensive. I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo drops the price of the 3DS by $50 before the PSV launch, but it's still not going to be enough to dissuade core gamers from holding out for Sony's offering.
  18. So far I am most impressed with Sony's conference, followed by EA, followed by Microsoft and lastly (like, waaayyyyy lastly) Ubisoft. - Sony had a fair amount of reveals (new Sly Cooper, some fun Vita stuff), alongside some wonderful footage of Uncharted (which I don't even care that much about) and Resistance 3. Combine that with a sincere apology for the PSN, and a fantastic PSV price point, and it was easily the best so far. - EA had some nice stuff too. Mass Effect 3, Battlefield 3 (two weeks before MW3 - lolz ), SSX looked great. It was short and sweet, and showed me exactly what I wanted to see. - I expected more out of Microsoft. At least reveal a new IP or something, but there was nothing new. Both new announcements (Fable: Journey and Halo 4) are sequels and the biggest showings were for previously announced stuff (Gears 3, MW3, etc). I kind of liked some of the Kinect Lite integration into the AAA titles like Mass Effect and Ghost Recon, but if I already have a controller in my hand, why would I use Kinect or my voice? I just don't think Microsoft knows who they are targeting with this thing anymore. Too many little kids, and Tim Schaefer doing Sesame Street? Uhh.... - Ubisoft was just disastrous. I wanted to punch Captain Caffeine in the balls the entire time. Just shut. The. Fuck. Up. The games were shit, too. How is spending 60+ percent of your time on titles like Just Dance 3, more fitness games and Rayman Origins a good decision when only the core gamers pay attention to these things? These people are just utter morons. Also, how could the footage of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier vary so much from what Microsoft showed only hours prior? The MS footage looked great (not just the amazing pre-rendered footage, but the GunSmith thing too), but the in-game footage looked terrible. It was actually a step in the wrong direction. Luckily, Assassin's Creed: Revelations looked amazing, but that doesn't make up for the overall shittiness which was their presser. I have faith that Nintendo can overcome Sony, but it's going to take a lot on their part. Console reveal with date and price, some great first party launch titles plus a HUGE catalog of third party support. Don't talk much about the 3DS or Wii-specific titles, and they just might do it.
  19. Absolutely agree. Fortunately for me, my first Zelda game was A Link to the Past, and then Ocarina, then Majora's Mask. You could not pick a better way to play those games. You get the brilliance of ALttP, then OoT comes along and you get a true sense of what the Zelda games have been trying to accomplish ever since the original, but then MM shows up and flips the whole concept of a Zelda game on its ear. That's why Majora's Mask is my favorite. Just when you think that the series couldn't do anything else to expand upon the gameplay, it practically reinvents itself and almost creates a new genre in the process. Hooked with LttP, perfected with OoT, reinvented with MM.
  20. Yeah, and then as soon as you come back and you're like "Fuck yeah, motherfuckers, it's on, you fucking Covenant are going DOWN!" the game ends. I saw a video interview before Halo 3 came out where the interviewer asked one of the Bungie guys about people throwing their controllers in rage at the end of Halo 2, and the Bungie guy said "I don't think anyone threw their controller with rage, they may have dropped it in amazement..." No, I fucking threw my controller in rage. Literally. And I don't usually do that at games. Ditto. I heard that comment by the Bungie guy as well and thought "you're a complete idiot". I can third that sentiment. I was sitting on my bed, controller in hand. When Chief says "I'm going to finish this fight" I said to myself, "Fuck yeah!" Then, the credits roll. I very calmly took a pillow off of my bed, laid it on the floor, then proceed to throw my controller into it until I was worried that the integrity of the pillow had given up. Also, fuck playing as the Arbiter. Fuck Gravemind. Fuck Tartarus on Legendary. Fuck every story element in that game. God that game is a mess, but somehow it managed to improve so much from the original. --------------------------------------- I am sad that the original Super Mario Bros didn't make it on the list. I mean, I know it's not the best game ever made, but without it where would we be right now? I don't know, but I would bet my life that the landscape of gaming would be completely different if Mario never showed up. Also, no love for the original Zelda? I am shock. But not Bioshocked, because that didn't make either. Seriously people, do you guys hate great/groundbreaking games? *EDIT* Nice job, Nexus. This was fun.
  21. I watched Rio and Thor this weekend. I enjoyed both of them, although Thor more so. I am totally stoked for all the upcoming Marvel films now. I said to myself that if they could get Thor right, then I would let my guard down for Cap. America, Avengers, etc. Really solid stuff coming from Marvel film nowadays.
