  1. Yeah we're Summer time so according to whattimeisitrightnow.com means 11:30am CT is 5:30pm BST
  2. 4:30pm GMT onwards is super fine by me. Even on my late days that's when I end work (though not working today).
  3. Bought a house. Been a super smooth process to do what with the world shutting down and bank changing interest rates twice during the process.
  4. Headphone port is a headset port, if you've a headset/in-line mic set with the single jack with triple bands it's work fine (same as will work with PS4 headset port).
  5. I'd recommend loading it up too, as it will want a few extra bits on first running (especially after each big update)
  6. It's totally free to play. Don't need Switch Online to play either, hence the ideal game to play with my younger bro since overall he's not on Switch enough to justify the Switch Online (he's not always well behaved enough to play on the Switch...plus parents suck at parental controls)
  7. Be interesting to see if ASA acts, Square have been in trouble with them on misleading advertising on Final Fantasy games before now. No doubt ASA is a little bit stripped down at the moment mind. But yeah I know when first announced they were super clear that it was going to be episodic, and all the material shown just covered Midgar regions. Not sure if it's in the small print on the box art (the title certainly doesn't reference it)
  8. I play Fortnite on Switch with my younger bro occasionally. I'm surprised he hasn't made use of the Easter holidays to play some more with me. It's not that hard of a game so most of my time with it is really just a reason to chat with him. I've not played Warframe for aaaggggeeesss but was a decent way through it (probably less than halfway now given all the expansions to it, I last played before the open-world area was added). I got Anthem PS4 for like £3 not too long ago and not too far into it so there's that. I have a chunk of the Jackbox titles, could figure how the streaming side of that works (I've only ever played it locally but I know grand scheme it's not too hard to stream and later games are designed to be). I think if you get GOG Galaxy 2.0 you can combine your games in one list which might make it easier for seeing what have and what platform. edit: figured be useful as its own thread
  9. You didn't know? I do agree they have been very quiet on it lately, nothing saying like "Part 1" or anything on the current box art, but they were very open about it when first launching it. It's why I'm not bothering with it so far given FFXV took over a decade to come out and this is already several years in production. They're barely through "Disc 1" so doubt it's only going to be a trilogy unless they opt to strips other bits back. Personally I'd wager it doesn't get complete at all.
  10. Can I just say I love amidst a pandemic it's fab you two are keeping this thread going into 16 pages ?
  11. Had a dream last night in like a hotel but was sort of semi-groundhog day shenanigans (the day resetting) but like end of the night something blows up. Some kind of cursed guest to do with a dodgy date or something(you know how it is with dreams). Additionally the majority of staff (or at least heads of departments) were like..I'm gonna say "old ones" but not like tentacle faces but clearly sort of fae/demi-god/whateverness. They seemed sort of pissed with the state of affairs (the day reset thing), but otherwise malevolently fulfilled the duties of a hotel. Also Chris Evans (or a character played by him) carried on turning up towards the end of the night, so he was involved in someway. I feel if I took the effort I could maybe thrash this out into some kind of story concept. I mean I've got Chris Evans on board already, that opens loads of producers doors. Also the usual run of "oh shit I've missed work" stress/anxiety induced stuff because the global situation is fun! I think last nights was different because I'm on what is 7 days off.
  12. I got FFXII on the Switch because it's on sale. It will no doubt arrive "eventually". Means I now own it on PS2, PS4 and Switch...and now I'm not sure if I also own the Steam version. It's pretty solid game and I think would work quite well on Switch. It's a shame that FFX/X-2 on Switch is only physical for FFX with the X-2 being a digital download.
  13. There will no doubt be black at some point, not like DS4 has been monochromatic. And given the outcry for black I'd say they're rolling out black quite soon even if for a special edition launch console. Battery wise at least it's still coming with a li-on cell, and based on DS3 and DS4 should be easily user replaceable. Can't believe it's 2020 and MS are still rolling out controllers that use disposable batteries by default ? I got a charging cradle for DS4 a while back and it's been great, supports two controllers off one USB (and tbh doesn't even need to be using the PS4 USB ports) and you just clip an attachment onto the DS4 itself and you can pop on to charge super easy. Only fiddly bit if using on PC then I do need to take the attachment off but only takes like 2 seconds. Glad DS5 is using USB-C as well. Kinda shows the distance of time between each generation that DS3 is mini-USB, DS4 was micro-USB and now on to USB-C (which hopefully will last for a fair long while, it's a pretty solid connector).

It is still somewhat disturbing that the wife of one of our actual officials is pumping the line. (and he's now in isolation as family member has it...). She writes for the Daily Fail so has the ear of thousands unfortunately. Really hating the current spin and wording around the pandemic. Boris will 'fight' the disease, NHS staff are our 'frontline', the nation is at 'war' with corona. They're on this constant chase of their Churchill moment. Especially given the implication that anyone that dies didn't fight hard enough, or that deaths of NHS are inevitable as a part of 'war'. Oh as for destabilising effect they're already naming this various lines of succession. It'll be my dads MP, the recently promoted chancellor, that'll be third. Tories don't go in for "deputy leaders" like the other parties so they don't really leave a clear "who is next". I'm sure Cummings will have someone else's ear soon enough, hardly like the Tories are planning to have Johnson's flapping about on stage for the next 5 years anyway. Put him out front, get the election, et tu brute, then stick whatever right-wing columnist into the top seat.

Apparently he has "the best doctors & nurses in the UK". Which tbh is kind of bollocks given he personally did nothing to prevent his infection. And no doubt if he needs a ventilator he'll get one of the 30 his government has managed to rustle up in the last *checks watch* three months. Our Health Secretary also had it and was up and giving press conferences on Day 6. Our official advice is 7 days of quarantine, which is far below the WHO guidelines of 14 days and given Johnson is on day 11 and in ICU would state their advice is much more correct than ours. Johnson was ignoring all his own advice anyway; proudly saying he'd shaken hands with corona patients in early March like he was Diana with AIDs victims. Given they could run "digital cabinet" also meant he was ignoring the work-from-home element too. Literally failed to follow any of the corona prevention advice and, surprise, he ended up with corona. Literally a poster boy for what happens if you don't follow any of the governments advice and a sign of the hubris the current Tory government has. It's notable over the past week or so we've had minimal appearance from any of our medical officials and instead getting Raab, Gove (whose wife promoted use of hydocoquine thing other day), and Hancock up on stage. It'll suck if he dies mainly because he'll become a martyr. I know you're meant to be "thoughts and prayers" but he failed to act both nationally and personally, literally reaping what he sowed (though with the personal benefit of getting to call on top doctors and nurses which most other people won't be getting).
  16. On eShop I got: though through the website because eshop is trash (in fact even the website breaks after you hit page 30)
  17. My biggest concern with the movie is But yeah, the whole movie is on a knife edge between having cutesy pokemon for kids and masturbation jokes for adults. I don't think a film like it could ever be made again.

    Unfortunately....
  19. I'm currently on Sex Education. The guy from the first series of Altered Carbon shows up as the divorced dad. I guess Netflix has a roster of actors they like. It's fun for the most part, some neat drama. Some bits where you're like "oh..I see where this is going to go" which gets quite tense for an otherwise funny show. The aesthetic is all over the place and it's insane how relatively wealthy that town must be given some of the properties shown (though kids are paying £50 a pop for sex advice so makes sense). Jakob is the best. Also is the whole Ola/Maeve thing a bit like Team Edward Team Jacob was back in the Twilight days? (Ola and Maeve should just go elsewhere, at this point Otis is being a bit of a knob). Not super keen on an arc that's kind of perpetuating the "they bully you cos they like you" thing.
  20. PSVR is a cheap entry point. A friend of mine is wanting a Switch, but they're now literally £600 (as much as a launch PS3). I'm kinda glad cos I'm trying to encourage him to instead get in some food.

Yeah it's funny/sad how years ago your lot were all saying about how our socialised health care has "death panels" for the elderly and here is your lot doing pretty much that. Literally feeding the bodies into the capitalist machine. Democrats certainly going to have a tough time justifying Biden over Sanders. Similar happening over here where Nicola Sturgeon (Scottish First Minister) is doing a better job than Boris (in our case though UK as a whole doesn't/can't vote for SNP)

Well today found my brother, since leaving a hospital that last Sunday was treating at least two covid patients, has visited at least 15 of my relatives with his new baby across 6 households. So yay! Gosh I wonder why we have the proto-lockdown in place.

Yesterday I found out since I work at a college I'm an "essential worker" (schools are remaining open for staff so "key worker" kids can be looked after. So nurses/doctors kids etc). So I'm officially still working, but due to the admin-nature of our jobs as opposed to direct teaching our department (and others) are on a rota basis, so I'm working home 4/5 days. But I've put to HR that I could be our man-in-the-office for our department since I'm the youngest in our department, got no kids or vulnerable people I'm living with (most of our department are pissed we're being asked to work from the college at all). On the fact schools are being open to some kids but not all I have (and seems others have as well) that really the provision should be putting the kids into temporary care or putting "key workers" into hotels/similar to avoid spread to family members. Because kids are still interacting with their hospital working parents on evenings and weekends. Boris announced last night that we'll be closing bars, cafes, restaurants etc "as soon as possible" which of course as a Friday evening measure meant that most pubs and clubs stayed open as usual until the late AM for one last hoorah. Him doing his daily briefings in the evening has been the worst idea ever, should really have been done like 10am to give businesses a full working day to act on rather than doing it after most businesses are closed, then all night for shit to spread around social media, and needing the next full day to deal with. If he'd announced at 10am to close pubs and bars they just wouldn't have opened in the evening. He's literally killing thousands with his wishy-washy statements. Also fucking Trump and his total lack of empathy. Fucking attacking the press when handed a simple question with a response of "I say we're great people that shouldn't be scared" or something.
  24. I've been watching Altered Carbon lately. It had been on my radar when it first cropped up. Bit of cyberpunk; what's not to like, but I never got around to it. Now with the new season having Captain Falcon in it I figured must be doing well to pull in big names. It's really quite enjoyable, and almost Doctor Who-esque in the "sleeves" (aka bodies) and "stacks" (the spinal column brain backup) thing meaning you can put characters into different actors. And there's some fun with it. It does have some notably choppy editing, but given it continues it from S1 into S2 I'm guessing maybe a thematic choice. Like characters will go from planning to do something to having done it and you just have to fill in the gaps. It does the the usual heist trope of "if they show you planning the heist; it won't happen that way" and its done it both S1 end and near the start of S2. Shame they've all been very singular location so far (Bay City, aka San Fran in the first season, and Harlans World, aka Eden Prime, in the second) when you have the "needlecasting" thing pretty much allowing near instant cross-world travel. Like there's mention of him travelling 80 planets in the 30 years from S1 to S2 but you don't get that in any of the actual episodes. Otherwise all very near. Love Poe in it (notable that most gif searches for Altered Carbon either bring up him, or Captain Falcons mjolnir gun grab thing)
