Haven't posted about Xia, did play it the other week though (and I think maybe tweeted about it). Fucking beautiful game, nice little models, metal money that goes "clink", so good. We played to 10 which was considered a quick game, at 5FP that'd barely be longer than the set-up. I have photos, and from another new game too. But we've another event this Saturday and I'm eyeing up quite a few new games we have so I'm gonna make a bigger post for then.

Gof this for Android. Significantly cheaper than the boargame, so can give it a spin before investing in the cardboard version. It has somewhat mixed reviews, but given the theme and the comparison to Lords of Waterdeep we're somewhat hopeful.

Super lazy given the flexibility QTEs allow for in animation and events compared to the likes of traditional attacks/attacks. Likely a result of crunch hitting, so easier to clone a fight to an earlier sequence and help pad out the game a little more for next to no extra development effort. (though given a quick check the devs say the game has been in development since 2010, so unlikely to be a crunch issue) Also given this is my first post in this topic: I never saw why this gained any hype, seemed like it'd be mediocre from the get go. I guess the main thing it has going for it is being a PS4 exclusive?

I feel I'm on of the few folks that didn't get much from RDR.

I've given it a bit of a "demo", and I'd say if the opening logos didn't say otherwise I'd almost reckon it was made by Ubisoft. My only major complaint would be given there's a fair bit of running around involved, you don't get that much of a wide view angle and I can't find any sending to change the FOV. For the most part it seems an alright game except for one incy wincy personal issue for myself....we don't go to Ravenholm. That first night at safe house threw out the "yeah, nice slow zombies, that's okay". (oh yeah, it also runs like shit on a fairly consistent basis, it's not a "everything runs at sub-30", but it will consistently, and heavily, dip when you do anything that's any kind of interactivity - opening chests, triggering cut scenes, setting traps etc)

Seems we might be having a splurt of fun spy films.

Been playing Divinity: Original Sin. Quite interesting title, quite enjoying it so far. About my only major complaint is some things give next to no direction. Crafting is a big one, I'm picking up items that are clearly marked "ingredient", but I've not come across any way to enter a crafting screen apart from managing to make flour. Now I've a mortar n pestle I've made bone dust too, but no idea if I can make proper food, potions, scrolls, etc. The quests aren't overly well directed either, so most part I'm currently going around and exploring places, stumbling on new areas and some of the simpler quests (e.g "kill the guys in the lighthouse for us" compared to the larger "work out who killed this guy, solve the undead issue" etc) There's also really weird levels between enemies and yourself, at the moment my guys are 4-5, but I can easily wander into people that are 7-8 (battles against enemies that are lvl 5-6 are kind of a pain to get through, might take a couple attempts). Combat is quite nice, though fiddly at times. With your archer ending up running towards the enemy instead of shooting at them due to a minor miss click (aiming with AoE attacks too are a PITA as well).

I quite enjoyed it, especially for the pay-off at the end. The tribal warfare politics stuff throughout can get a bit grinding down, and there's a few times where it struggles with the ensemble cast, so some only pop up for a moment, but other than that pretty good build up of the characters.

I imagine they're asking for this: Here I'll note S Health shouldn't be that level of active at the moment.

Wrapped up Orange is the New Black. That ending is something. As Iv'e remarked on Twitter I like how light hearted it can be (despite some of the topics covered), then just in an instant being all "oh yeah, criminals". I'm interested to see how Series 3 will pan out. From what I understood she's 8 months into a 16 month sentence so far, which could get extended though the book it's based on she's in for a year so dunno.
