  1. Looks pretty neat. I know there's a few apps around n about (maybe UK only given the shows) that act as companions to watching. Though they're more a kind of Foursquare/twitter type thing for TV from what I remember of them. I think X-factor (n similar) would let you vote on the show from within the app,
  2. Folks up for some Civ V action tonight? Shorter than standard though. Maybe more players.

Only if you go into the specific status update view.

On front page they do not.

  3. God Origin are useless. "let's have a sale" "but sir, memorial day is only in US" "well then run the sale in the US only then. durr". Meanwhile at valve "So thanksgiving is coming up, wanna run a sale?" "Yeah go on" "well thanksgiving is US only celebration, we want to make it only in the US?" "WHAT? No, don't be a fucking moron, it's an internet store. International network, dipshit".
  4. ..and a pint on the side. (since it's "beer and a burger")
  5. Just come from 'spoons. Had a chicken chargrill burger with a great side of chips and some salsa-like tomato sauce thing. Fucking cracking meal. best in a while and after today was I think well deserved. The chips were coated in something, not sure what but made them a bit fluffy on the outside.
  6. I had a go with WoW a couple summers back for about 3 months. Got I think to level 40 n gave up. I was playing alongside Ben n Tom, and tom I'd say is addicted. He's on from beta of WoW and while he's stopped now n then he's usually back on within a couple months. Though this year he dropped it, apart from a month or so of SWTOR, and has now passed Uni 5 years later. I disliked WoW cos that 3months leads to a lot of other-game time going which I'm still working through. It's why I like EVE, it plays in the background so you can do that and other games on top. But in general I'm just not a huge MMO fan, dislike the subscription (only reason I'm on EVE at the moment is a returners reduced rate with Inferno coming out), and not really sure on the whole social side of things with it. I like random MP games where you can kinda just drop in n out.
  7. http://www.becausewemay.com/index.html Bunch of games on sale for a variety of devices. The android sale is using the Play market instead of selling direct like HIB, so if your current phone isn't compatible then tough luck. (Also most of them only seem to be on sale in the US, cos a lot of them actually cost more than the base price when clicking them, not less)

Basically it turns off unneeded processes n services(mainly Windows ones, you can add your won) disables Aero etc just squeeze a bit of extra juice out of older systems. Then when you close the game it goes back.

  9. If you're responding the Cowboy Ethan, he's making a joke at the fact that the language choice is "American".

    Apple

So there's a stir going on the fact that Siri sends everything you say to it to Apple, which we already knew(cos it's how it works). The stir comes in that they're storing it for various reasons along the lines of "improving the service" and marketing n such. IBM have now banned its use. http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2012-05/23/ibm-bans-siri Which will probably expand across to other companies that are a bit sensitive about Apple potentially having wind of their business details.
  11. http://www.bethblog.com/2012/05/24/mounted-combat-arrives-in-1-6-skyrim-update/ Mounted combat. Ooohhh
  12. http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/gb/en/pc/games/strategy/disciples-ii-gold-edition/ 100% off Disciples II Gold.
  13. http://axis.yahoo.com/ So Yahoo have a new browser out. Called "Axis". Anyone up for giving it a shot? Their video crashed the tab, so I've no idea what it does different to be too bothered.
  14. Well I understand that part. It's the Google and the UK part I don't quite get. AFAIK they don't have any R&D over here, just a tax-reduced HQ in Ireland.
  15. How can you buy the torch? And yeah they like to have a fair go at each other now n then. BBC Parliament might be streamed if you're at all interested. I think your equivalent is C-span. In other news: Why are google so interested in UKs computing curriculum. I think it's great mind, wish I was taught more than "GCSE Office" but yeah...seems a bit odd. http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/education/374827/google-to-fund-british-computer-science-teachers
  16. You're a star. Thanks.
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67H1eZBHiDQ So this was invented while trying to make a lining for oil pipelines and as anti-ice coating.

  19. <---- These ID's are now working clickable links. Apart from PSN cos I don't know what their URL is. Also is anyone wanting any extras added?
  20. Selling position in the relay or the physical torch itself?
  21. So this seems to be causing a stir of late. (anyway everyone knows who really needs to carry the torch)
  22. Hands up if you have a gaming orientated streaming and/or youtube channel.
