  1. http://kotaku.com/comment/35712996 - that'd be part of it. Also as EiC he is in control of what goes on at kotaku. He's the helmsman of the ship, and as such has control over what kind of things they cover and he's shown time n time again he doesn't particularly care if what they cover is VG news or not. The only reason Fahey gets to run his half-arsed science articles and Bash gets to neglect NSFW policies is cos Brian has no issue with it. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if he encourages it. I don't think the dude wants to write for a VG blog, but since it's the gig he's landed himself in he's gonna make of it what he can. And I think as long as he keeps the hit's coming Denton doesn't mind either way. Still the new site design looks to turn off plenty of users. And I've got adblock on but by the sounds of it those ad's sound terrible.
  2. Actually there's a fair few of us here that have shown a liking of FFXII. So it does make sense we'd like XII n dislike XIII on that matter. concerning Cloud as a fan fave, may also want to check the Cloud thread. Not all of us treat him kindly. Also only the last few games are voiced so Hope has that disadvantage. And if memory serves it was really only Tidus that was whiny in recent memory. Vaan was annoying but no one on XII was whiny.
  3. Spoiler for end of XIII Also I'm with Malicious. I think this is the stuff they cut to get it on DVD. But I guess we'll see. The bonus is the gameplay may be quite refined and I don't think the story can get much worse. Remember FFX was mostly linear like XIII and X-2 was the "go anywhere mission based" style. So maybe this time around it might be halfway decent. I guess we'll see how it goes. XIII was off-putting (whereas I like X quite a bit) so they're gonna have to work hard to recoup lost faith.
  4. See I'm unsure of how the tying would work though. Like if I gave my copy to my housemate and he wanted to go online would it need to be through my PSN account? Would in future if they did a similar promotion and say he has the PS3 copy tied to his account and the PC copy tied to mine, would we need to repeat that for L4D3? Doesn't much matter cos since I've last posted I've decided should all go well I'm buying the PS3 copy and keeping it for myself. That way I've got £30 portal 2 on PC with a cheap £10 PS3 copy that I can play when I'm off home or something and maybe lend to my housemate.
  5. For future reference this is what I have. It's over ear, the boom swivels in that joint (took me a while to find that out though. Thought what I'd bought was useless as it had a mic level with my nose) It's a bit fiddly to turn on n off (but you soon get a knack for it). It's nice for folks who aren't keen on an in-ear solution. Also means you can stick earbuds in should you want to keep things a bit quiet. though it's a bit less comfortable then.
  6. I actually can't figure out how to do it on PC The spinny wheel thing yeah? Makes em tell you more/reduce prices. Cos I'd prefer for a straight up skill, and them just liking you based on convo responses or completing quests for them or the town/faction.
  7. Ah crap. That's a comment referring to someone who died or choked or something. It's a comedy of sorts. Comedy isn't it's main aim though. 80's movie. I shall get back to you.
  8. We've come along way since ancient times.
  9. Nah, I couldn't jump up to the top level. I carried on falling. Spent like 30 seconds with the treasure on the top platform and me unable to reach it. Then I got gunned down. It would of swung the match in our favour.
  10. I think the main reason they're going with Mammoth is cos we have frozen samples. Dodo may be gone for good. Also afaik Elephants can carry and give birth to Mammoths, there's not many birds big enough to give birth to a dodo. And Ethan it's perfectly fine post. Anything that's just showing how advanced technology is becoming. It's at the point where potentially we could dictate what species lives or dies. I think it's an inevitable point that we do become our own gods. Master of all around.
  11. He ran, Tripped, got back up
  12. I'm watching Sweeney Todd cos tutor recommended it for good set extension work. I thik my tutor is blind (And by Johnny Depps singing; deaf too)

      Mr W Phallus

Watch the Ray Winstone TV version instead, I really enjoyed that.

I didn't think it was the worst. But it's pretty bad. I had to read the Legend of Sleepy Hollow last semester, and by God, what the hell did the film do to that story?!

    4. Bizzenya

Ha, I had that recommended by a friend as well. It was pretty forgettable.

  13. Well they could of just bought the engine. It's an asset in a failing company. Sell it off to about the only studio that these days would want to use it. Use the cash to keep company afloat and work on their other projects. I dunno. Either way with time more will be revealed.
  14. I'd assume nothing. I am kind of wondering getting the PS3 version now. Just give it to my housemate and use the PC code myself.
  15. I'm unsure if they're merely licensing at this point. The company that makes gamebryo has been in tatters the past year. Bethseda had been on the tables for buying them, they might of done. And depends on how they're licensing it. Like Dunia engine is Cryengine 1 but heavily modified. Same with GldSrc being Quake engine etc. It's not unheard of. If they've taken the base engine, modified it enough and put in enough little add-ons, it becomes it's own beast. I guess we'll have to wait a bit for confirmation either way, but I'm not entirely convinced this is a new engine. Fallout 3 was Gamebryo and they carry on citing their work on fallout 3 as helping with work on Skyrim. How if it's a completely different engine?
  16. "The result is the newly dubbed Creation Engine and Kit" - this bit is the bit that's kind of funny. Not worrying cos what we've seen of upto now looks good but "newly dubbed", and with various past comments, suggests its the new dubbed...gamebryo engine. Just obviously removing the stigma of the name. The engine could of been updated to be on par with Cry engine 3 and it'd still have the stigma of the naming. So changing it's name is a good idea.
  17. Nah, we're mostly just playing Uncharted 2, rather than something jerks like to play with. Though I do find it a bit odd that it's only MW2 that upto now has been a victim of this. Not like it's been unknown to have wiggle room for hacks n glitchers n such before.
  18. Yeah hope they change that in U3.
  19. http://www.gameinfor...s-v-skyrim.aspx A look at the tech and middleware engines going into the game.
  20. Yeah it was pretty shitty. Even more so with the whole being unable to jump thing. I have a couple images, might put em up later of my ace kill of Raine. My only issue is what cinema recorded isn't what happened on my view, so it looks a bit less epic.
  21. Yeah but facebook, twitter, forums etc aren't a job interview. I can understand wanting that sort of thing for more formal occasions, but for everything else it doesn't really matter.
  22. Cats > Dogs. Which I may of explained in the phobia thread. tl;dr: I don't have a cat bite on my leg.
  23. I don't much see that as a problem either. It's like folks not knowing how to rewind a tape, or correctly use a quill. Times move on, we don't much need the analog clock other than for a fashion piece. It's why I go for dual-clocks. An analog face, cos I find them stylish, but the digital part built into the bottom half, cos I just find it much more functional.
