  1. Your image is in the wrong folder. Move it over to Public then link it.
  2. Betas should be for bug fixing not feature addition (and very rarely do Beta's add features, that's normally Alpha stage stuff) The MP mode at the moment is missing some pretty basic features, weirdly things Steamworks supports out the box.
  3. Another one of my faves (partly cos I started this one) from the old place. All fairly simple. Using the anagram of a games name give it a blurb/description. To make things simple you can add in extra the, its, of's etc. Bioshock Battle In Ocean, Splicers Hurt, Objectevism Can Kill And a good one from the last place: One to beat.
  4. I've being posting in the general MNC thread; The beta is actually at the moment P2P which explains the huge lag. Buuut they're running the game as if it was on Dedis. Which means they've got all the bad points of P2P but none of the benefits. I hope they get some Dedi's up ASAP or this game will be unplayable. I can only enjoy SP so much. Or/And they include matchmaking so folks could at least join up with friends. There's quite a few embarrassingly amateur mistakes and issues in MNC PC.

  6. So this was a thread from the old place that I quite liked. Use this site: http://bighugelabs.com/mosaic.php To make a 3*3 grid of your favourite games or games that have most affected you. Then upload the resulting image to your favourite image hosting site of choice (imgur, photobucket, dropbox etc) n explain your choices. I'll go first. Final Fantasy IX Well many of you should know my infatuation with this game. It would be the first game that was mine rather than my dads or one to be shared. It was my first Final Fantasy and JRPG game. I thought it was amazing. Loved it. I'd actually heard of 'Final Fantasy' through one of my mates older brothers. I now know many years on he'd shown me FFVII. I think I made a happy accident in getting FFIX. Dawn of War First RTS. I got this when it first came out. I was a fledgling fan of 40K and this was certainly much cheaper. Mine had some weird bug in it that meant I couldn't play past a certain point (oh and no internet at the time) so I mostly played skirmish. Not long after we got a new PC which came with a shitty integrated card which didn't support T&L. So no DoW for a few years till I moved to Uni and got a decent PC. And it turned out all but 2 of us in my first year house had DoW. That was soon rectified and we spent many nights on LAN. Even finding a similar group on the Uni LAN in the other halls. Dark Crusade was my fave expansion. Soulstorm was meh. I skipped on DoW II. Felt too small and limited. Counter Strike: Source Another game a few of us had. And our Uni had a server. So I picked this game up on a recommendation from the others. Al sat me down and got me to install this 'Steam' thing that you downloaded games from. Seemed kinda weird way to buy games but whatever. (Also the list with your games in had way too much space) But the rest as they say is history. The game was pretty good too. Was my first PC FPS. I was and still am pretty shitty. But it was fun none the less. We moved on to TF2 the year later. Super Mario Bros 3 My first game. My dad dug out his NES from the attic one day and plugged this in (took a while, RF adapters ). He only had a few games for it. This was one of them. I was pretty shitty and the control pad hurt. But it was fun none the less. I think we only ever got as far as World 2. Spent most of our time in Start in the Mario Bros mini-game. Pokemon Blue Another first. My first Pokemon game and my first Gameboy Colour game. I put roughly 400 hours into this game. Which I don't think I've exceeded with any other game. We formed a gameboy club in school. Mr Woods room on first break, Link cables trading and battling. Was all pretty fun. So I guess my first MP game too. I used to play it shit tons secretly too. My gran got me one of those accesory kits, so I'd be up waay late at night under the sheets with a light shining. TES IV: Oblivion My first open world RPG. It was great. I loved the different classes. Spent ages just exploring the game finding quests uncovering cool caves n hamlets with their own little story. I'm really looking forward to Skyrim. This was one of my first PS3 games, I spenty most of that summer in this game. I'd say about 150hrs. Orange Box Yeah this is a cheat but whatever. Portal was amazing, really looking forward to 2 and seeing what Valve can do with a full game to play with rather than concept demo. TF2 was amazing and still is (Though I've not been on since Trading. I've not heard great things). In my last 3*3 I said I'd yet to play HL2 but that's changed now and HL2 was very enjoyable too. Ravenholm spoiled my first few attempts. So yeah this game has been one of the most value packed I've ever picked up and included a nice variety(yeah they're still all FPS, but meh) Civilization series I can't really pick one, most of them are the same anyway. Another game I put many hours in. They didn't require must in the way of graphics so our shitty PC would run them. I've yet to pick up Civ V(officially), but I've found it really refreshing. I'll wait till it's cheaper/summer as I don't have the hours free that I'd want to put into this game. Also Gandhi is... Timesplitters 1 & 2 We picked these up cheap. Not heard much on them. Me n my sis played crap tons of this on Co-Op and making our own maps n MP modes. It was very flexible and I've yet to see something comparable. Halo comes somewhat close. We ended up making a mode that I guess now would be called 'Horde Mode'. I was disappointed with Free Radical going under, but glad to hear Crytek are looking to Publishers for interested in Timesplitters 4. I think it would be refreshing to the current raft of FPS games. So what are your Gaming 3*3's and why?
  7. I asked about that in chat and was given the affirmative. We were taught about it in History Class (I did 20th century America)
  8. http://www.uberent.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=4952 This seems to to be the thread to bookmark. Turns out it's not on dedicated servers at the moment. Which is a bit of a bummer.
  9. AARGH FUCKING LAG. MNC is supposedly running on Dedi's to. I don't believe them. Nearly any match with an acceptable ping is full. And all thats left is matches with stupidly high pings.

Wow, that is some unholy ping.

Eurgh. Even in a match that should have decent ping I ended up laggy as hell. They must of done something wrong. It's steamworks enabled. For all intents n purposes uses Valves netcode. And that's pretty damn good. (Also means P2P should be possible. Which would at least let me play with you guys)

      toxicitizen

Woah, those are some terrible pings. It was nowhere near that bad when I played about an hour ago. Most games were full, but when I finally managed to join one it ran fine :/

  10. Has it played Blu-Rays in the past? Can you play the blu-ray on other devices?
  11. I'm not Commander Shepard, just FYI. I don't believe you.
  12. Yeah same here. I kinda updated my other post about it. I've only managed one MP game upto now. And the ping on most is horrendous.
  13. Sooo that whole 'Commander Sheppard is Tali' thing...
  14. @Ethan: You've checked his half side of A4 reply on PXOD right? I'm somewhat with Hottie, and that may too come from not playing the MP, but he seemed to make a decent amount of sense in demystifying MP.
  15. Oh yeah the Alchemy was very enjoyable. It let you experiment (which usually led to me being poisoned for a day or two most of the time, but still) But yeah that was very fun. Maybe the combo thing was in my head. But I'm sure they talked of how you could combine spells to make like a fire tornado or something. Also on topic of The Witcher http://www.eurogamer...iculty-revealed Insane mode = Deletes saves on death.
  16. I'll be honest I wouldn't much know. I never got to the stage where you start doing that stuff, but I know that it's possible once you have all/most of the 'signs'.
  17. Yeah that would do well, especially with Witcher 2 on the way. Maybe something to put out a bit before it's release?
  18. It's a game that I've always wanted to play. But yeah it looks very scary and overly complex learning curve, but with a potentially satisfying reward at the end. I may give it a shot with the 'Lazy Newb' pack. One day. Still got other games in the way at the moment. I know on the last place there was a fair few games where they'd make a map, play through a year, do a write up then pass the game along. Someone might start another one of those up. These are always good too: http://www.timdenee.com/oilfurnace/
  19. Well it's definitely a fair bit different from Elder Scrolls. Elder Scrolls hasn't got much in the way of a cause and effect mechanism. The combat, questing, narrative structure, etc etc is all very different. Apart from being a fantasy RPG I'd say there's not much in common between The Witcher and Elder Scrolls. Now Dragon Age they're a bit similar. The cause and effect mechanisms are similar. The overall Dark Gothic atmosphere are very alike. With the timing between the two games and the fact Witcher is made on Biowares engine which I have a feeling they'd no doubt have a look at what CDProjekt had made with it, I'd say that Dragon Age has a fair bit of Witcher inspiration in it's blood.Though the combat is very different. going from a Party based system to a single person system. The weapons and spells are fairly limited in range, you combine them to make wider range of effects. Unlike Dragon Age which has a wide amount of skills and spells on an Action Bar. The narrative structure of The Witcher is similar-ish to ME2, a chapter based system. This also limits where n what you can do. It's certainly not open-world like DA2 and TES. It's still fairly open as sorts, usually with several areas accessible each Chapter where you can go n do what quests you want as n when. Also it has Alchemy, which provides various buffs and such, some are quite interesting. Oh yeah as far as cause and effect goes it's not as straight up as others. It is a good idea to be paying attention. For example some characters might not like to discuss say.. the Squirritel, and you might lose a bit of freindship by maybe just clicking every single speech option there.
  20. I've got 2001 to watch actually. I could maybe do that later.
  21. So anyone else got this on their radar? I've yet to finish the first(Got a fair few RPGs I need to polish off actually) but it was very enjoyable so I'm definitely hyped for the second. The regular and collectors edition are amazing too. They're really pulling out all the stops. I'll probably just get the regular version, it's a good price and I don't think I need Geralts bust. The regular edition 'just' includes: The Witcher 2: Assassins Of Kings game Making of Video DVD Official Soundtrack World Map Game Manual and Game Guide Pamphlet and Cursed Coin 2 x Papercraft Figures of Various Game Characters For £25($40), which is well below most new PC titles. My main concern would be the first game, built on Biowares NWN Aurora Engine was a bit crappily optimised. But there's a new engine here so I'm hoping that's better. The combat I want to see as well. The first game was quite different for combat to other games. And it could take an hour or so to get into the flow. But once you're into it, then it feels pretty great. The choice stuff is also pretty good. With somethings early on in game not having any result until later on in the game. So you kind of have to pay attention no 'oh damn chose the wrong option, lets go back to an older save' cos this would lose you hours and hours of game play in Witcher. If folks have yet to play I suggest giving it a shot.
  22. Pretty much every American version of the FF covers. Oh and this And this one too. Thankfully Euro covers tend to be a fair bit better.
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAgFFti9kkQ So this is the PC combat video that Bioware put up yesterday. It's mostly showing the same things it had last time. I'm kinda disappointed that they removed the tactical view (Which is going to make planning out the pause-tactical type play a bit fiddlier than it needed to be.) Especially as part of the excuse was it'd allow for nicer things on the ceiling, then the video they show off PC combat it's got no ceiling. I wouldn't mind seeing how claustrophobic it gets inside buildings. Action bar looks nice, but I prefer the oldey worldey fantasy bar tbh.

    Angry Birds

So I finally picked up the Android version of Angry Birds (I have one of those awkward phones it didn't originally work on) It's Crash the Castle. How has this game gained so much hype? Crash the Castle is good, but it's being around for ages and never got this kind of attention. The actual game is pretty fun, screen might be a tad small for it, but yeah good timewaster. Anyone else play, any thoughts? Oh yeah other thought: It's the largest app on my phone. Beating the second largest (Andors Trail, a kind of RPG thing) by 3.5 fold. It's a whopping 15mb. In phone space that's pretty huge when the average is about 700kb. Andors Trail I thought was huge but I was like 'nah it's an RPG, they tend to be big'. I can't much tell why this game would be this large unless each level is individually coded (It should just be a case of "block type X at position x/y" then load it up.) I guess if I was finally on Froyo iut wouldn't be much of an issue (I have a 2GB microSD card to shift apps to) but it's using up my fairly limited internal space.
