  1. Double Archer is INCREDIBLY powerful. I absolutely destroyed that last fight with both my ranged rogue and Varric. Two miasmic flasks, two rain of arrows/exploding arrows. Ridiculous.
  2. For those of you complaining about Male Hawke's voice: At least it's better than Male Shepard.
  3. Nah, I wouldn't consider that heathen. Dragon Age: Origins was great, sure, but the combat was atrocious. It's a lot more engaging now, and I personally love how minimalistic the UI is.
  4. They do affect the relationships between the different characters. It can be hard to see at times, but it's there. I've completed the demo as both a Warrior and Rogue so far, haven't finished it with Mage yet. I'm VERY pleased with Rogue combat in DA2 - melee rogues were horribly boring in DA:O, as your combat consisted of trying to get behind enemies to do backstabs over and over. And even then, their damage paled in comparison to bow rogues. It's a lot more fun and engaging this time around.
  5. The Steam download is so much faster in comparison right now. Steam: 1.2 MB/s Direct from Bioware: 56 KB/s
  6. My download speed picked up dramatically after the first few megs. Just stick with it.
  7. Demo downloads for PC are up - good luck actually getting it to load, their servers got slammed. I managed to get a download going, but it's crawling along at a speedy 33 kb/s.
  8. BioWare, it's February 22nd. Y U NO HAVE DRAGON AGE 2 DEMO?

It's not fair. The Xbox demo got posted up almost immediately, and PC and PS3 has to wait. :|

  9. Kung Fu Hustle. Decided to watch it just the other night. I simply love that movie and everything about it.
  10. Valve is similar to Blizzard, in that both are fairly lenient with their games (as far as system requirements are concerned). Basically any PC you can find today will be able to easily run TF2.
  11. Yeah, he's definitely lost weight. He's also a machinist (by hobby), so it's fairly likely he made the minigun-esque prop he's pictured with. Also, ROCKET JUMPS AS PYRO, HELL YEAH.
  12. My girlfriend doesn't really care for gifts at all (otherwise I'd probably get her some lingerie or something), so I'll probably just spend time with her and shit.
  13. lmfao. That's great. My biggest gripe with the new layout is that it looks like a damn wordpress blog. It went from appearing relatively professional, to looking like something an amateur can do. And for some reason, sometimes pages and articles will load twice - they'll load once, then randomly refresh themselves and load again.
  14. TL;DR - Mom is a horrible parent, blames all her woes on the big meanies at Microsoft.
  15. NEW KOTAKU LAYOUT - NOW WITH MORE SHIT AND POINTLESS STORIES.

  16. Dear Deanb: Sorry for beating you in a duel in TF2. And then dominating you. Love, Vargras.

  17. Gifted: 3 Received: 0 I've bought a few of the Mass Effect 2 DLC bits for friends as well.
  18. Spears would be better at close range, but fail in comparison at long range. Most hunting is done at long range anyways.
  19. The Huntsman takes any kind of skill? I just fire it randomly and get headshots because of laughable hit-detection. You're SUPPOSED to use the Huntsman by predicting where opponents will be and firing, rather than where they are at the time you fired. Kinda like how the Direct Hit and Loch-n-Load are meant to be used. But people usually just spam it.
  20. Sydney Sleeper for the Sniper in Team Fortress 2. Nothing quite says "I shouldn't even be playing Sniper" like using a gun designed FOR BODY SHOTS, AND BODY SHOTS ONLY. Shit, even the Huntsman takes more skill.
  21. Firefox + NoScript. All I've ever used.
  22. I said it before, and I'll say it again. If this was a normal 11 year-old, no one would've given two shits about it. Some might have even called it justice, because a cheater had been properly banned. But because he was autistic, people went nuts. Microsoft was suddenly the bad guy, and no matter what they did or how things played out, they were going to be viewed as the bad guy. His autism has no real bearing on the story at all - the moderators at Xbox Live followed company procedure and felt it was evidence enough to ban him. They did their job to the fullest extent and in what they felt was the most proper way. TL;DR - Kid with a disability gets banned for cheating (after he actually cheated), people go ballistic because he had a disability and Microsoft was "ruining his life".
  23. Metroid Prime. All the exploration aspects from Super Metroid safely made the transition to 3D FPS, and Retro Studios made a truly gorgeous game with the most subtle of details. Look up on Tallon IV, and you'll see raindrops on the visor. Use the X-Ray Visor, and you can see Samus' arm inside the cannon. It was a lot of the little things that made it so great. Also, Wave Beam + Missile = ELECTRIC WHIP OF DEEEEAAATTTHHHH. Finished that shit with 100% completion. Pretty sure Other M wouldn't have sucked if Retro Studios had made it.
  24. Half-Life 2: SMOD - The Stuff Launcher. That's quite literally what it is - right clicking absorbs a phys prop, and left clicking launches it. I've carpet-bombed areas with dumpsters, or simply shot toilets at enemy Combine. It's so hilariously awesome. Half-Life 2: Crossbow. Bouncing crossbow bolts and getting kills from it is so satisfying. Just Cause 2: Grappling Hook. I don't think I need to even give a reason for this one. Team Fortress 2: The Heavy's Fists. I've always loved melee, and having a ranged taunt kill is incredibly awesome. Mass Effect 2: M-300 Claymore. I love shotguns. Heavy shotguns are even better. Biotic Charge + Heavy Shotgun? Paradise.
  25. HI, MY NAME IS BRIAN ASHCRAFT. I'M GONNA MAKE A POST ABOUT TRAINS. 'CAUSE THERE'S TRAINS IN JAPAN. AND JAPAN MAKES VIDEO GAMES. SEE, IT'S RELEVANT!
