Pretty much. Just got in and played a bit. What a clusterfuck (just launching the game is horrendous). They've added and taken away so much shit that lone-wolf gameplay is almost constantly encouraged.

BF3 and SWTOR will still sell like hot cakes. I still remain optimistic about SWTOR, but looking at the alpha forums for BF3 leaves me with the feeling that it truly is just another Bad Company game, except somehow worse.

Got an invite to the BF3 alpha. My first impressions of it are already poor, due to the boatloads of negative feedback about it on the alpha forums.

What? I quite like regen health (only when it's balanced)- but vehicles regenning? Wtf. And that's stupid, the point in getting points for that stuff is that it incentivises team play. Sure, this might make you repair or heal things just for the objective, but no idiot players are going to do that. And the majority of players are idiot players. That sucks bro.

My biggest issue is that the movement is really fast, and moving to and from prone is really, really fast which just leads to people playing like assholes and padding their KDR with shit like dolphin diving. Also, the map is too small, especially in the subway area.

Remember though guys, they are calling it an alpha. Remember the BC2 beta? Lots of things wrong there too. I wouldn't swear off the release version just yet. This is Dice we're talking about, they always start shitty.

Actually, I did really like #1. She looks like a military woman, cropped hair and all. I wouldn't mind #5, though.

In case anyone cares, Bioware is running a poll right now to choose what the default Female Shepard will look like in ME3. Whichever of the six wins will be the default appearance in-game for Female Shepard, and will also be what she looks like on the box art. Just a heads-up, the poll IS on Facebook and only on Facebook. Female Shepard Poll In addition, it's basically guaranteed that we'll see Tali's face now. Fans have repeatedly asked at Comic-Con if we'll see what she looks like, to which they keep saying "You'll have to play and see" - and that's essentially a "Yes".

It's just the default appearance is all. I suppose they still have to make it look like someone, so the player has a base to start with. In other news: Bioware already seems to know what it's going to do with Tali. Fans are stuck waiting until next year, though. HNNNNNNNNNGH. EDIT: No multiplayer co-op either. That already got shot down.

The Gamecube controller was stupidly comfortable. I could play Smash Bros. for hours and never have my hands cramp up or anything. The D-pad was kinda derpy, but I did like the C-stick (and it was great for pulling off easy smash moves in Smash Bros.). And as someone else said before, Wavebird is probably the pinnacle of wireless controllers. Me and my buddies always fought over who got to use it.

Honestly, I'm expecting a new engine to go with HL3 (whenever it comes out). Source was released a good six years ago or so, and despite being incredibly robust, it is starting to show its age a little.

To be fair, they already said both male and female Shepard will be on the CE cover (one on each side). The trailer thing is a nice touch, though.

Thanks for posting that, DukeOfPwn. No really, thank you. I was kinda debating on whether or not I was gonna buy Duke Nukem Forever, because it looked funny. But that just sounds... really disturbing. Gonna pass on this one.

I guess in her defense, one of the ME2 loading screen tips DOES tell you to roll a Shepard of a different gender, since things vary between the two genders and alignments. She's probably just trying to tell folks to try it so they can see the new content, but she does seem kinda forceful about it.

Thing is most aren't even comparable yet. As for the compelling feature I guess we'll see it when we see it. They're gonna have to do a lot to try and make it appealing. Steam already has Steam Guard, Steam Cloud, and the daily sales.

The only person I've seen make a big deal out of this is you. I've heard zero complaints about it, and only a passing mention here or there up until now. They're working on the story. They're working on the non-linearity. Stop whining. EDIT: Just checked the official forums. Not a single topic regarding the gay/lesbian relationships. At least provide some proof.

You're making a big deal over a very small issue. I don't know if you know it or not, but Mass Effect was originally going to have the option to have a homosexual relationship with either Kaidan or Ashley. They actually still have the lines in-game for it. Bioware (and many other companies) have fans have all races and orientations. Just because they decide to make content that everyone can enjoy, doesn't necessarily make it a horrible game. If you seriously have a stick in your ass over gay relationships in a video game, go somewhere else. Contrary to popular belief, the straight male gamer is not the only market.
