  1. Well, look at it like this: Recruit packs: Great for getting consumables Veteran packs: Good for building up your mod/weapon collection. Chance to score class/race combos as well (class/race combos are marked as uncommon in the full game, instead of rare like in the demo) Spectre packs: Best possible chance at getting the rare goodies. I've gotten some special items out of these, like a permanent increase to the amount of medigel I can carry into missions, as well as some pretty snazzy weapons. You can also pick up multiple rare items out of these (I got the Carnifex and Revenant from the same Spectre pack). As mentioned in a previous post I made, there's an additional quality tier beyond rare, and Spectre packs are your best chance at grabbing those.
  2. Well, that episode was pretty entertaining.
  3. Unlocked Turian Soldier earlier. Their Marksman ability, combined with the Revenant rifle, is absolutely terrifying. I completely wasted an Atlas earlier before the power even wore off.
  4. I'd say it's possible, Ethan. I had something like 3000+ resources on my first playthrough, but there was still quite a bit I think I missed out on. I probably could have pulled it off.
  5. For anyone curious, there's an additional tier beyond rare within multiplayer. Uncommon items get the silver border, rare items get the gold border, and (I really hate using this term in this manner, but it's something familiar to a lot of folks) epic items are marked with the N7 logo. The Scorpion, which I snagged from a Spectre crate earlier, is marked as such.
  6. Unlocked the Scorpion in multiplayer after I saved up and bought a Spectre pack. Spent the entirety of the next match shooting sticky nades onto geth and watching them explode. I regret nothing.
  7. He mentioned the kid before on my first playthrough, most notably during a talk with Garrus. Bioware also took the time to have some fun with some of the sub-memes that have spawned from their own games. James Vega and Cortez, on one occasion, mocked the Mako (specifically, how it could climb up just about anything and how poorly it handled). Garrus also borrowed Shepard's "Citadel" line during another conversation.
  8. While we're on the topic of weapons - the Spike Thrower is downright incredible. Seriously, if you use shotguns at all, use it. It's incredibly accurate for a shotgun, and I've actually sniped enemies with it. You can charge the shots, and even if you have no ammo powers at all, the spikes cause bleed damage over time. It's a truly amazing weapon. I don't regret shelving my Claymore at all.
  9. I'd have to say, probably my favorite thing from ME3 so far has been the music. All the pianos, and everything else... it's pretty somber. Love this one, in particular.
  10. I maxed the bar out as well, without touching multiplayer. Ended with roughly 25 hours played. It's not hard to do - just scan planets and do side quests.
  11. Additional thoughts, before I hop back to my game:
  12. Welp, I've had my first 'WHAT THE FUCK?' moment of ME3.
  13. Well, if you haven't seen it yet, ME3 has the option to auto-toggle off helmets during conversations. It'll leave them on otherwise.
  14. So I start watching the new episode. Starts out well enough, and then... this happens. OH SHIT, IS THAT PIPSQUEAK? HOLY SHIT IT IS. Not only that, but we've got Bon Bon wearing Lyra's saddlebags, Lyra sitting funny (again), and Derpy's saddlebags have a muffin clasp on them. Day has been made.
  15. Yes, Guardians. And yes, you have. If you don't have an armor-piercing weapon, though, shooting the foot or one of the sides is a cheap and easy way to get the kill.
  16. On another note: I swear I'm the only one that will actively shoot a Centurion in the foot. A single sniper rifle shot to the foot will kill them, just like a headshot, and hitting them in the foot is much easier than trying to shoot through the slot on the shield.
  17. Found some crazy SMG weapon mod earlier. 25% chance for the gun to not consume the thermal clip upon reload. It's a pretty bizarre mod, but it can greatly extend weapon longevity if you can get it to go off. I also unlocked salarian infiltrator!
