Something interesting I've noticed - while some non-human characters seem incapable of rolling, it looks like they usually make up for that by having higher shield or health totals. My turian sentinel has a shield total over 900, and I know krogan soldiers can easily have shield totals over 1000. Human characters can't come close to that.

I'll admit, I did like it more in ME2 when it set itself off it your shields were broken (instead of you having to manually detonate). I still haven't noticed too many issues with the class, though.

Really? I found that Sentinel actually hits quite hard now, especially after you upgrade Warp and Overload. Shields and barriers are an absolute joke to me now.

Yep. Unlocking the same race/class combo gets you 12,500 exp for free. Unlocking a new one gets you 50,000.

That's what I meant too. You unlock a new option every time you get a card for that class/race combo. My human female vanguard has every option except lights so far.

Customization is present, but in the demo, you can only unlock it from the Recruit packs. You'll get an item for one of the characters. Gives that class some bonus exp and unlocks a new customization option. Based on the wording, there's probably gonna be more.

So yeah, today's ep. Finally got Smile Smile Smile, and a nice little bit of continuity as well. I grinned like an idiot when I saw Dashie reading in the library.

Something I have sorta noticed is that, if you want a shot at more customization options, or race/class options, the Recruit packs are the better choice. You also get more consumables. For mods and weapons, the Veteran packs seem like the better bet. That's how I got my Carnifex (which I'm pretty sure is considered rare. The outline on it was gold, rather than silver for uncommons).

It's doable with two, but having a higher level player definitely helps. Like with my game with HotHeart, I was playing my 17 Sentinel (Turian, awwww yeah), while HotHeart and his friend were both in the single digits.

You'll be able to command any of them without Kinect. It's optional. I'm not sure myself if this is the final list, but I found it odd that they would release this for the demo and mention Ashley/Kaidan, James, and Tali. Only Liara and Garrus are usable in the demo, so why mention the others?

Microsoft put out a list of Kinect commands compatible with the ME3 demo, and in the process, they inadvertently leaked what appears to be the final list of usable squad members. -Ashley/Kaidan -Garrus -Liara -Tali -James

There probably will be. After all, if folks haven't played Arrival, they'll have to explain why Shepard is back on Earth in the first place.

That's what I thought as well, but apparently not. Also, you can unlock new races as well from the gear packs, and doing so will score you some bonus exp towards the relevant classes. I unlocked Turian Sentinel and got 50k exp for free. If anyone has the PC demo and would like to play multiplayer, my Origin name is the same as this one.

The multiplayer portion of the demo is now open. Already tried it myself, and it's surprisingly fun. You get experience and credits for completing missions. Credits can be used towards gear packs, which can contain weapon and armor mods, temporary mods (single use only), and new weapons. It's actually a fairly smart system. In addition, four race/gender choices per class, each race usually has different abilities available to them.

I don't think you can talk about what Mass Effect has "always" been known for when there have been two games, one that is that way and one that isn't. Perhaps 'always' was a poor choice of words. When I mention Mass Effect, folks tend to think of two things (as far as music goes) - they either think of some of the synthy music from the first game, or they think of the Suicide Mission theme from the second.

Wow. I really liked that. A lot more synthy than his other space stuff, which really fits this universe and is in line with the other games soundtracks. A lot of the music I've heard within the demo so far has been pretty synthy, and definitely makes it feel a bit more like Mass Effect. Not that I have anything against the Mass Effect 2 soundtrack (which was predominantly orchestral, from what I remember), but Mass Effect has always sorta been known for being synthy.

I had some guy rant and rave in an IRC the other day about how ME3 was another gay-sex simulator (in space!), and that it was all DA2's fault. Asked him if he had even played the demo, and not surprisingly, he said no. People bitch and moan because ME2 and ME3 aren't like ME, but they're so busy looking back at it with nostalgia, that they can't even see how crappy ME was at times. The load times, the vehicle sections, the inventory system (an inventory system alone does not determine whether or not the game is a RPG, and ME's inventory system was AWFUL) - ME was good, but it certainly doesn't live up to the praise that most folks give it.

Finally managed to find a copy of this that had the music isolated, and no other sound at all. I'm gonna be listening to this soundtrack so much.

So am I the only one that actually liked the bits with the kid? Might have just been the Clint Mansell music, though.

I didn't see Mordin at all on the IMDB listing.
