NEW NIER NEW NIER SQUARE WINS E3 (Although who knows whether Platinum Games can handle it.)
-
Nintendo's been pretty strong thus far.
-
I guess you ended up paying normal prices with the discount?
-
Looks interesting. I wonder where this is taking place.

I think the open world is working against the game for me. I enjoyed how focused the other games were. I end up too distracted in open world games. I mean, it does open world incredibly well, but I don't know if it's to its benefit or not.
-
A good number of NPCs you encounter near end game will have spies. If you don't use decoys to take advantage of it, you'll end up at a huge disadvantage due to hand sizes. As far as the monster-summoning decks go, I've found that the field effects tend to work best against them. Or cards that destroy monsters, as they'll destroy everything of one strength.

Northern Realms works best once you get more siege, and once you unlock the spies and cards that can pull cards from the graveyard. I'd also suggest packing lots of decoys once you see opponents start to use spies.

I know, man. :< But it was money I got from crates anyway.

LLtQ! YEAH! I really enjoyed screwing around in that one. So far I've made zero purchases. I'll only buy anything that I really want and is severely discounted. I actually ended up spending some of my credit on CS:GO stuff. >.>

What are you reading right now?

I need to read both of those, but I also own like two dozen books I still haven't read. >.> I've heard good things about both. -

Nerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd. -
The water in the game has been acting up for me lately. I get flat water with nothing but normal maps. Apparently it's some issue with 1.05. : \ I avoid sailing because of it. Looks like I'm playing Morrowind.

Game of Thrones (Current episode spoilers)

I don't think the dragon was bad. Maybe the green screening. -
Is vaping meant to be something that breaks the habit of smoking, or something that replaces it?

http://www.pcgamer.com/descending-into-uncharted-territory-in-hellblade/ This is very interesting, though it does make me wonder whether they'll cover the full, honest range of schizophrenia symptoms, rather than just hallucinations.

WRT Thursday's reply: You are sort of leasing games, right? Even physical copies of games never really belong to you like, say, a bowl would. Maybe that's what he's getting at?

Congrats on finishing that damn delight of a game. I feel you on the RNG, though. Fuck, man. I just assume everything I do is going to fail the die roll and go from there. As much as you or I could gush over the narrative, I'd like to point out the mission structure. I like how open it is compared to Returns. You're given more options in mission choices, rather than just tactics. For example: when you encounter some smugglers you're given a choice: join one side or the other, or just fight them all. It's not really a big decision, but it's one of the less spoilery decisions. That and the result is great. The AI dodges one of those design pitfalls of everyone attacking the PC. Rather than a 2v1, it actually ends up as a 1v1v1, which is a big deal as far as video games go.

Yen's a tool anyway.

My first voyage in Skellige was eventful. I mistook them for a flock of birds at first. http://imgur.com/a/I3dlG

I've been fighting level 30+ contracts at level 20. It's certainly manageable if you're careful and don't mind dying a dozen times before you work out the best strategy, then a few more after following it. I'm playing on medium difficulty, though. Edit: Finally decided to visit Skellige. It's stunning compared to Velen, and Velen already had a lot going for it.

Yeah. My first Falcom game was on PC.

Hopefully they'll be ported eventually.
