Thanks for the explanation, Dean. I still don't quite get the allure, but I'm going to write it off as me not really being into the mobile market.

I honestly don't understand the hooplah surrounding this one. It's either an enhanced Kindle or feature-starved tablet. Basically, the Nook Color.

I'm up. Oh, we're talking about the game. Yeah, that.

Finished first half of Sora no Otoshimono Forte. For a second season, it knows what it's doing. 100% more Nymph! God, she's so great! I want her figure!
-
Yeah, likely. But the graphics didn't bother me... aside from those wretched moments when the distance blur would set in. God, the blur.

After playing NieR, I would add that to my top nine. It is the manifestation of saudade. Emotionally striking to the end. Imagine playing Zelda, Diablo, Touhou and World of Warcraft, only with the an absolutely spellbinding soundtrack and narrative.

Yep. Still haven't watched more of it. Added Sora no Otoshimono Forte and Toaru Kagaku no Railgun to the list.

Finally reached Shogun. Someone from another forum suggested it. I picked it up and hadn't gotten around to it for, like, a year. Also, there's something you guys could read in my profile. :3 -
Totori is scheduled for release today. Unfortunately, there's been a bit of a manufacturing hiccup. So we'll see about that.

I don't know who you are but this is PXOD. I think. Hi.
-
Add Disgaea 4. Have a review pending for that one.

Alpha Protocol... thinking of Shining Force I and II.

I had hundreds of pages of lore developed, and could never find a programmer. \ : If you need a supplemental quest/script writer, let me know. Otherwise, good luck finding who you need. I won't say it's insuperable, but it's certainly daunting. A bit of a tangent, but have you not worked with UDK at all, Seuss? I think I mentioned it elsewhere. If not, you should definitely consider it. Outside of proprietary systems, it's widely used. And the scripting involved with UDK will familiarize you with studio engines.

It seems to me like you're approaching this topic from a myopic view. At first, you seem to temper it with mention of playing role-playing titles while watching television. Then I read quotes like "Again, I think FPSes are under harsher criticism than RPGs in this regard." These things tell me you are removed from a critical part of your argument: the other side. Role-playing affairs receive ample criticism. More, I would say, given that the majority of western gamers prefer first-person shooters and abhor anything with doe eyes. Additionally, you don't seem to touch titles like Digital Devil Saga, the bountiful strategy RPGs that will friggin' garrote anyone who disregards strategy or strategy games as a whole. First-person shooters are largely dumb, simplistic things. Deal with it. That doesn't make them bad games. They're created chiefly for the shoot-fuck-kill and forget everything else market, and that's fine. I like it; they like it. Let's not fool ourselves. It is what it is. I'm not trying to claim any genre, especially those mentioned in counter-argument, is faultless. They can all be condemned in some "fatal" way. What is ultimately important is whether or not you enjoy a video game. Not some arbitrary intelligence rating.

Have you watched Nichijou? Not exactly one of those series. Those are chiefly what I watch, mind you, but Nichijou is more akin to Cromartie or Yotsubato. Really, I haven't found a series I've been emotionally attached to that left me feeling anything but forlorn. That's just how these things work, and I don't think there is an ending that would supplant the feeling of loss. Nearly finished with Iroha. To be honest, I've stopped watching it regularly. It grew old, and the characters just began to piss me off.

@WTF: Given Disgaea and Arcana Hearts, are you at all interested in the Atelier games?
-
I've encountered several instances of my CPU jumping to 100% load for no friggin' reason. Also, the FPS drops. I'm running on a Phenom II X4 3.2ghz.
-
Finished Nichijou. It's a sad, sad day when you can no longer inhale the choking pine syrup of spruce schoolgirls who do shit that's fucking insane.
-
They accept SDHC cards now, which makes no friggin' sense at all. Make up your mind, Sony. Why learn your lesson once only to go back to it afterward? From what I can tell, they already have a solid launch and post-launch line-up.

Heh. I'm being wed on the 26th. But it's just a civil affair, so no bothersome preparations. Yant, are the Amazon Warehouse items always returns or are they trade-ins, too?

Likewise to the 90% of non-sleeping hours in front of a computer. Though it may be closer to 95% >.> If you can't afford it, just work around it and be mindful of when and what you eat. A full regimen would be optimal, but if it's not something you can achieve, do what you can. Though I've a proclivity for eating way more sweets than I should.
