  1. People are speculating it's Ray Liotta. Also, opinions. People say this guy looks like Vercetti. I'm not convinced. What do you think?
  2. Yeah I'd be very surprised if it wasn't bigger than San Andreas. I imagine it could be as big as Just Cause 2's map, if they tried hard enough. And yeah Ethan, the visuals are much improved. GTA IV has aged a little bit (not horrendously) so its only natural this would look better. Not just the people though, the environments looked a lot cleaner too. There will also be a much wider array of environments than there were in Liberty City which, if I remember correctly, was just all city. EDIT: Air-lifted this post from Reddit:
  3. yep, I distinctly remember Vinewood being an area in San Andreas. Neat! Wonder what made them skip out Vice City though, I thought that was the one people wanted the most. Hm.
  4. 8 minutes until the GTA V trailer, in case you all forgot, here's the link: http://www.rockstargames.com/

  5. Bastion is 50% off on Steam. It's one of my favourite games this year. If you've not already got it, GO AND GET IT.

It's fantastic. It's tied with Arkham City for my 3rd favorite this year. It's brilliant.

GOT IT!!! I waited for the steam sale and was rewarded!!

      Faiblesse Des Sens

Yes. I waited for a Steam sale as well. =D

  6. I got some hands-on time recently at a gaming festival! Read my preview here: http://pressxordie.com/2011/10/31/preview-journey/ In short, it's pretty neat!
  7. Interesting, Blocks That Matter looks pretty interesting. I've already played Binding of Isaac (and still do from time to time) so eh.
  8. Good guy Connor to the rescue! The game looks pretty neat, I played for like, a minute before I had to go out but I'll check it out again later on for sure.
  9. http://www.humblebundle.com/ Bumpy bump, new bundle... By bundle, I mean individual game but like the Frozen Synapse bundle there's every chance they might post more. Never heard of the game in question, mind.
  10. Gamesradar's review is in. 10/10, "Everything has been preserved and improved upon". Awwwwwww yeah. http://www.gamesradar.com/batman-arkham-city-review/?page=1
  11. Here: Heh, yeah what I meant was one that isn't also released on the ps2, therefore not pretty. Disclaimer: I know graphics aren't everything and I still play and enjoy blood money from time to time.
  12. I agree. I liked Conviction too, despite the move away from traditional Splinter Cell, of which I am also a fan. In fact I actually thought the exact same thing when I saw it. Thing is I'm more attached to the unique game that was Hitman. Blood Money is awesome. I want a current-gen Blood Money. The game looks awesome as a game, but not so interesting as a Hitman game, if that makes sense. This all looks very scripted, I'm sorta hoping it's like a tutorial level (like the first level on Blood Money which was also very "do this, do that") but who knows how the final product will turn out.
  13. Just to bump this topic with more discussion like the above... This gameplay demo was released.. http://www.giantbomb.com/hide-in-plain-sight-in-hitman-absolution/17-5043/ Looks...Not like Hitman.
  14. Had my first criminology lecture today. Turns out the lecturer is an ex-convict. Brilliant!

Keep your wallet in your front pocket and never make eye contact with the lecturer.

oooh! What kind of course are you taking? I've been taking a class "Intro to Admin. of Justice Systems", last Wednesday this soon-to-be prosecutor gave us a talk of her experience watching the a death sentence execution. These classes are rad.

I study Psychology and Criminology, and the guy teaches an "introduction to the criminal justice system" module first... Dunno the exact nature of his offenses, apparently something to do with money, fake bank accounts and the like.

  15. I'm in between Dean/Thursday and the rest of you guys here. Here's my two cents: Jobs was a great man. Almost everyone has enjoyed something that has had Steve Job's stamp on it, be it an apple product or a pixar movie (he didn't create pixar but he certainly helped out financially). Was he as great as Einstein? Of course not, that's ridiculous. Einstein furthered science in the biggest way possible at the time. If Jobs is a great man, Einstein is an incredible one. Steve Jobs didn't have the same impact on the world as Einstein. I do believe he had an impact though, and that's important. As for the "I don't so much care, let me know when my relative dies", I see your point but I find it sad when anyone dies, be it a relative, a friends relative, a stranger I read about in the news and a public figure. There are varying degrees of sadness for those. I'm not sat here crying because Steve Jobs is dead, but I would be if someone in my family died. I still find it sad that he is dead, and I have sympathy.
  16. So I want to play TF 2 with all the people here who used to play on our own server. Any suggetions? Sometimes empty servers we can repopulate for a night or something? I'd love for this to happen!

I think this is a better idea than getting a server of our own.

  17. The Portal 2 OST, Volume Three, is out now. Also, free dlc next wednesday! http://www.thinkwithportals.com/

  18. Alpha Protocol is £1.50 on Steam today. Regardless of it's flaws, it is DEFINITELY worth that much.

I only accept bribes in the form of dead cows and ancient remains of pies, sorry.

  19. My new internet downloads things from Steam at a pretty much constant rate of 50-60 kbps... :(

Well I can't mess around with the ports as I'm living in a student flat and the internet settings are out of bounds for me.

Whoa, what Internet are you on? I'm still on the first one.

That makes my 130kb/s sound downright fast.

  20. Is youtube playing up for anyone else? I just moved into a new flat with new internet so it could be me, but TF2 works fine online and yet one short youtube video won't even buffer?

  21. Moving out of my parents place today and therefore not sure when I'll next be online. Hopefully later tonight but it all depends. Bye all!

  22. I'm sorry but you seem to be treating your articles and replies here as if you have this nailed to the wall as cold, hard science, and it isn't. As Johnny already said, this is all opinion and some people are going to find FPS games boring or just shitty and others aren't. I, personally, am not into many FPS games, but I wouldn't begin to think I could "prove" why the kind of game I enjoy are better than the kind of games you enjoy, You enjoy your thing, I'll enjoy mine. Further to that, I think writing an article about how X is so much better than Y and Z is kinda...Not cool. I mean, I bring up again your desire to "prove" that COD and Halo is better than Dragon Age and Mass Effect but I feel like you're so into your thing that you're pissed off that other people like other things more, that you don't hold in such high regard, but I'm a DA and ME fan and I'm not about to start trying to "prove" why they're so much better than the million-selling franchises that are those you mention. Edit: And after just now seeing your reply to Rockyran's "RPG-ification" topic I really can't help but think you've just got a vendetta against RPG's for some reason.
  23. Yeah, I saw that video too. It certainly explains a lot. He seemed pretty proud of himself but he totally missed the point of Deus Ex. Though of course, Eidos are also to blame for making it so they're completely unavoidable.
  24. That's a real nice price. Hopefully a price war ignites with the supermarkets and it goes down even more.
