  1. Wouldn't charging Zimmerman again be grossly illegal?
  2. So how is this Attack on Titan show? I've really kinda fallen out of anime in the last few years (still haven't even watched Gurren Lagann) but I'm hearing buzz about this one recently like it's the new "thing" amongst anime fans.
  3. Also, people making games with kickstarter money are under no obligation to give you a copy. They all list a copy of the game as a reward because that's the best way to get backers, but that's all it is: a reward to say thank you. Technically speaking, it is not a preorder. You are not buying a copy of the game. You are giving someone money to help them get their project off the ground, and they are offering you a copy of the game as a way of showing gratitude. Obviously it is in everyone's best interest that they follow through, but I'm pretty sure you couldn't take someone to court over a kickstarter reward.
  4. Your dad showed you porn when you were a kid and told you it was the future? That's...just fucking weird.
  5. So George Zimmerman was found Not Guilty. I may be in the minority here but I think that was the right call.

And you're the only witness. The law definitely should give killers who kill ynarmed people without witnesses the benefit of the doubt.

Zimmerman seems like a sleezeball, but legally there's not really a great way to get a guilty verdict in a situation like this.

The evidence was shifty and the two people involved were knuckleheads. I thought it was a lock for manslaughter. Oh, well. Even OJ was found innocent.

  6. This is more of a story than a joke but here goes. I have a friend who delivers pizzas. This friend also happens to look like George Zimmerman. He was telling me about how he was delivering to a house and a black man opens the door and just stares at him for several seconds until my friend asks him how he's doing. The guy snaps out of it and says he's fine. The customer, who was obviously in a weird place, tries to make a little bit of small talk with him while they're exchanging the food and money. He asks my friend if they've been busy that night. My friend apparently couldn't resist and answered "Actually it's been dead." The guy looks at him for a few seconds, then hands him a fiver and shuts the door.
  7. I dunno, I'm getting it at launch and I'll have plenty to play. Killzone, Battlefield, Planetside, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed, and Warframe are all launch games I'm interested in. Now, I realize only one of those is exclusive to the PS4, but my PC has neither the hard drive space nor the GPU to handle next gen games, so for BF4 and Planetside 2 my PC just isn't an option. Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed are cross-generation titles, but I expect some kind of enhancements for the next-gen versions. I guess if you have a really good PC then the PS4 doesn't have that much to tempt you right now, but mine is just a mid-range device catered to current gen (last gen?) games.
  8. I don't suppose anyone would want to trade with me for a Dead Island steam trading card? I'd take pretty much any other card in existence.

I have a Dead Island: Riptide card. I have no idea what these cards do.

The cards produce money from suckers. Mony produces video games.

  9. If something horrible happens and Broken Age is canceled (unlikely), then I'm pretty sure all those kickstarters will just have to deal with it. Double Fine's problem is with budgeting, not using the money dishonestly. That kickstarter FAQ is more like a piece of advice than an actual rule. If they kill the project, their reputation will be ruined with their supporters and a few angry people might file lawsuits, regardless of whether they have merit. Nobody wants that.
  10. I'm like Mr. Roper over here, just poking my head in the door to see what's up.
  11. I could be wrong but I don't think you're even entitled to your money unless they never actually spent any of it on the project and is just sitting there. It seems like a sticky situation. If a project raises 400,000 dollars but for whatever reason the project has to be canceled After they spend 300,000 of it, how do they decide who gets the last 100,000?
  12. Thomas Was Alone. Why? It was two dollars, fuck you.
  13. That said, kickstarter doesn't guarantee that the game will ever come out. You're supporting it as a show of good faith but there are no promises except that the money will be used for what they say it will be used for. If the project dies before it's finished, you aren't owed a thing.
  14. It didn't even make sense as a piracy measure so good riddance.
  15. Origin during a steam sale:
  16. Gotta side with Ethan on this one. It was really shitty to take people's money without warning them that they would be getting essentially nothing in return. Whether jailbroken devices are frowned on or not, those people should be entitled to refunds. Also, what business is it of Square's if I use a jailbroken device? I could understand an official Apple app doing something like this, but Square? Why should they give a shit?
  17. http://youtu.be/XQt6lYJHIOA This will either be really good or really bad. There is no in-between here.
  18. I finally got the Borderlands 2 dlc I've been missing for 13 bucks. I also got Chivalry since a friend of mine won't shut the fuck up about it.
  19. Well it looks like even though Best Buy fucked up, they're refusing to honor the Metro: Last Light orders. Thanks for NOTHING.
  20. Really? A game like that taxes your GPU?
