  1. I do agree that the new intro just feels wrong. If they're going to replace literally half of the show they should redo the intro to reflect that, not gloss over it.
  2. Well he did say the games they've been playing so far are "two of the five games I'm actually good at" so we'll see if that holds up.
  3. I don't think he's as charming as Jon, but I wouldn't go so far as to say he's unfunny. He seems, at least so far, to talk about the actual game and what's happening on screen more than Jon did. Whether that's a good thing or not is pretty subjective. I enjoy it, personally. Danny doesn't burst into song like Jon did, so we probably won't be seeing a bunch of remixes anymore. There haven't been enough episodes for me to make a firm decision on the new Grumps yet, but I think I could get used to it. Steam train is still a bunch of fuckshit, though. Oh, and here's the real reason Jon left.
  4. With all the buzz going on now, it seems easier to just make a thread than always discuss it in status updates. So, how about that Danny?
  5. I would get into the books but I hear the guy takes forever to write them and I don't want to get super invested only to end up with nowhere to go.
  6. What do they consider "excessive"? If a game needs to be fixed just let them fix it.
  7. I think I remember reading that cave intends to focus on mobile games from now on because they've been more profitable.
  8. They want their community to be like neogaf SO MUCH.
  9. So Danny is okay, though I still prefer Jon. I just can't get into steam train, though. I tried to watch it with an open mind, but those guys just aren't funny together.

And "Steam Train is Pewdiepie levels of awful."

You know what, though? If Danny actually bothers to READ THE FUCKING TUTORIALS then I think I could get used to him.

  10. I feel like even with the rights issues that would have to be worked out, it would be in Sony's long term benefit to own Atlus. Purely from a business perspective, if Demon's/Dark Souls became a Playstation exclusive franchise again, that would be a huge deal, let alone SMT and Persona. It would suck for people who own Xboxes, but it would be good for Sony. Do I think they'll do it? Probably not. I think the most likely scenario is what THQ did: selling off individual IPs to various companies. In that case I would definitely expect Sony to buy Persona, I would not be surprised if Nintendo bought SMT, and Dark Souls would probably go to a third party like Ubi or Activision or something.

  13. EVERY online gaming community is an embarrassing one sooner or later. You just can't escape it.
  14. Yes, let's just blare the voices of the Xbox community out for everyone in the house to hear. I'm sure they have insightful, fascinating things to say.
  15. God damn it, tech support, I told you to call me back on my cell phone, not the land line! Now, because I missed your confirmation call, you're going to try calling me again today while I'm at work, which means I'm going to miss it again, which means I can't confirm until tomorrow, which means I can't get my problem fixed before Friday! This is why I told you to call my fucking cell!
  16. No argument here. For a minute there I thought it was live action.
  17. Rev up those vuvuzelas! What, you gonna let yourselves be outsmarted by a hunk of plastic?
  18. So I saw Monsters University for free thanks to a promo. It was better than I was expecting it to be, but still worlds apart from the first one. It's hard to describe, really. While the movie lacks the creativity and heart of the original, it's still decently written and it did make me laugh fairly often. I guess the easiest way to say it would be to say that it's enjoyable as a family movie, but it's not a "Pixar movie." It just doesn't have that little bit extra that you find in movies like Up, Wall-e, or even the original Monsters Inc. Then again, I doubt anyone was expecting this to.
  19. That sounds amazing and I would so pay to go to one of those.
  20. If it caught on, I could see movie theaters revamping their entire business model to give you more incentive to go out. Some fancier theaters also act as a restaurant. I don't expect them all to do that, but it's just an example.
  21. It's actually rather different, at least from what I'm seeing. It works a little more like steam's mobile app does, and you can just swipe to the right to bring up a navigation menu. It's nice.
  22. Wasn't really sure which thread this should go in but check this out: http://www.theverge.com/2013/6/24/4458644/disney-sony-on-demand-streaming-korea
