  1. So Ni No Kuni is a pretty good game and all, but damn that ending sucked.

      that's what mah friends said.

It was pretty weak, but some of the post-game stuff was pretty cool.

  2. Oh dears. Someone has found the dlc store, which is expected given who we're dealing with but rather than a large expansion a la Gods and Kings it seems to be individual buildings. The specific building that was discovered is the marina, which has always been included with the game until now.
  3. Didn't we try to do Civ V multi once and it kept fucking up so much that we all kinda got frustrated and quit?
  4. For me, small city size is a much bigger problem than some people seem to think it is. Obviously the online woes are getting the bulk of the negative attention right now, which is understandable, but the tiny city size means, at least according to what I've read/heard/watched, that you cannot have a self-sufficient city, only a specialized one. The land has certain resources and since you cannot terraform, you don't get to decide what you have access to outside of where you initially build your city. You HAVE to connect to other players/cities to keep your tiny city going in the long term. On top of that, the resources seem to be finite, which has rather grim implications of all the cities eventually becoming unsustainable and collapsing in on themselves.
  5. Really, even if EA remarkably got their heads out of their asses and implemented the offline mode everybody wants (not bloody likely), I've just heard too many bad things about the game that are completely independent of the online experience or even bad programming. This video sums it up pretty well:
  6. Also it doesn't cost 60 dollars to go to a movie. Seriously, why do these people make the movie comparison? It's almost like they never actually buy games themselves.
  7. Crysis 2 took me about 8 to 10 hours. And yes, people definitely did play Crysis 1 for its campaign. Trust me, I played all three of them, I know what I'm talking about. Crysis 2 was shorter than Crysis 1 and Crysis 3 is shorter than both Crysis 1 and 2.
  8. They did the one I suggested!
  9. My asshole mechanic gave me an estimate for 2500 dollars in repairs when I just wanted new tires. Fuck my life.

You can just say "No thank you" and get tires, but sometimes a mechanic may actually find something wrong with the car that needs your attention. When dealing with the mechanic ask a lot of questions "how does this affect my driving?" "What are the long term effects that this will have on my car?" "can you show me what is broken?" "Why will it cost so much?" "Can I see the parts after they are removed?" "what is the right way to fix it and w...

"what is the right way to fix it and what is the cheapest quickest way to fix it?" If the mechanic side steps these questions, then he's trying to make a quick buck. You have to remember, being an auto mechanic is not easy, these guys have to like what they are doing to work in this field. Giving them an opportunity to educate you is something they enjoy doing (if asked at the right time, don't call your friends dad on the phone and ask stupid car questions).

They can't have my brand. I HAVE SPECIAL WHEELS.

  10. Bought SimCity. It's really fun, accessible, well designed, and a great evolution of the older games. I imagine I'll still be playing it years from now. SimCity 4, that is.
  11. By one sitting I mean between 5 and 6 hours. Compared to Crysis 1 or even 2 it's just not worth the full price. It's not bad, just probably not what you are hoping for.
  12. Recently did a marathon of seasons 1 and 2. I've been missing out.
  13. Crysis 3. Got it from redbox and beat it in one sitting. Make of that what you will.
  14. PSA for anyone who missed it: Season 3 of Archer is now on Netflix

PSA for anyone who missed it. Archer is the best ensemble comedy since Arrested Development.

And hopefully it will only remain that way until Arrested Development returns!

      Only a few more months!

  15. Something tells me Maxis may not have been entirely in favor of this direction.

  17. Hm, 3000 doesn't seem to be on GoG. I guess that narrows it down a bit.
  18. So does Sim City IV work with Windows 7?
  19. Every fucking time I would try to play Sim City 2000 I had a water shortage, no matter how many pipes I laid. To this day I don't know what I was doing wrong.
  20. So seeing that this game is such a train wreck and I myself have only played one Sim City game, I'd like to ask the die hard fans of the series: which one is the best? The original? 2000? 3000? 4? Some other obscure version I don't know about?

Well as long as they can make a hybrid like that Paper short film I'm fine with it

It's just for films, so shorts like Paperman will continue. And it's not just "hand drawn" it's "2D or hand drawn" which is a much bigger deal. Hand drawn is hand drawn, but there's still plenty of 2D stuff in CGI world but that's written off too.

Like that article says, Tangled was a really good Disney movie, and Wreck-It-Ralph was good too, so while it may be a little sad I don't necessarily expect the quality to suffer.
