I think the trainwreck that is Windows 8 might factor somewhat into their decision as well. Regardless of how you feel about Windows 8, Gaben hates it and sees it as a potential threat to the pc gaming space. In the unlikely worst case scenario that Microsoft keeps going down this path and ends up putting people off windows entirely, the steambox would still be there.

I never actually played P3 on the ps2 and it might be a good thing I didn't, because the teammate AI might have put me off the series entirely since there wasn't a direct control option back then.

Welp I finally beat P4: The Golden with the true ending after a whopping 75 hours. That was one damn fulfilling game. Now on to new game plus!

Well, Vaas is not especially "deep" compared to some other villains, but he's quite compelling. In fact, just about every bad guy on the island is a completely unrepentant monster you will want to murder with your bare hands. Seeing that they're slavers who kidnap and sell people just for the money, a thing which is still very much going on in the real world, it's pretty satisfying to excise those cancers of humanity. I've felt more remorse over shooting zombies than these guys.

So when they eventually include the firmware update in the system itself a few months down the line, does that mean all the 8 GB consoles will end up being sold as 4 GB consoles? Or will they make a 12 GB that goes down to 8?

Looks the same to me. Then again, my tv is only 60hz. I also set my 360 down to 720p for good measure. I don't think 360 games are 1080 anyway.

I went out and bought a component cable today just to test a theory. I was able to play Far Cry for a little over 2 hours tonight with no problems. I'm still cautious for the time being, but I'm hoping this means that my HDMI cable/port is worn out and not the console itself. As for the game itself, I am so glad I changed my mind on skipping it because of my distaste for Far Cry 2. This is a strong contender for game of the year with me.

I'm on my third 360 now. This one was an elite too. If I hadn't also bought Halo 4 and if I didn't want Black Ops I'd be very tempted to just say "Fuck the Xbox entirely" right now. I still kinda am.

I don't like all the negative space, but really my only problem with it being white is that the blue of the video titles in the center column is too light, so there's not enough contrast between them.
Overall I definitely liked the old look better.

It seems faster, but I don't like videos pushed even further to the left. >=( I'm hoping it actually remembers settings, so it stays with the big, central frame. Also, has it lost the dropdown for a user's videos while one is playing?

Has anyone on the 360 version experienced having the screen randomly go black for a second or two from time to time? It's happening to me all of a sudden...I really hope it's the game. *Edit* Nope...it's my 360. God damn it, I actually buy a new 360 game for once and I'm really enjoying it and this shit just has to happen now.

I factor replayability into game length. If a game is short but it has multiple paths or New Game +, that automatically at least doubles it for me.
