  1. Dammit, I should've said "batty-batty". I stink.
  2. Have any other Gamefly members (if there are any) on here tried their PC rental client? The selection is crappy but it's currently free to Gamefly members. I've always wanted to play Puzzle Quest and XIII.

Never. My computer can't really handle anything besides minesweeper.

  3. *yawn* Someone let me know when they release Kotaku -functional. The Gawker-free version. I can't lie though, I find this situations and the developments surrounding it pretty interesting. I'm curious to see how this all play out a few months in.
  4. You know what's cooler than sharing what I'm listening to right now? Plugging one of my AMVs at the same time! There is another Evangelion AMV there if anyone cares (to Bombs Over Baghdad by Outkast), as well as a neglected Bleach one (to Ya Man by Balkan Beat Box). I think the music in the latter was a weird turnoff to some people, and the fact that it didn't show up in searches the first few weeks it was new didn't help. Whatever, I'm still proud of them all, despite my amateur-level skills at editing.
  5. That "being a gamer" thing I found so comforting two days ago... Not quite as effective when the transmission dies an hour away from home. It's my lucky week.

We could use a few games about fixing cars.

      ...I'm totally serious about this.

  6. Best part about being a gamer? When a flat tire completely shits on your evening plans, you've still got a pretty awesome night in store at home.

Point taken. Home is indeed where the heart is.

  7. Oooh, had I not added already? Thought I had everyone. I see you now though, it's all straight. That reminds me though, there were two accounts that weren't appearing last night when I tried to invite; Atomsk and Duke. Atomsk is appearing now (just sent the inv), but still no Duke. I suppose it's a hiccup and I should just try again another time?
  8. Will do, thanks for the heads up! It's a shame this happened just a little too late to be part of the gift exchange, I thought that was an awesome idea. I'm definitely in for 2012. On a side note, is it just me or is Steam's reporting of activity a bit intrusive? I'm afraid to scratch my balls while I'm logged in... Whatever, it's just nice to be able to have my library expanded this drastically. It's almost intimidating. Time to grow my white hair long and find some new white boots. You know, to match the v-neck.
  9. Wheee! I've had this for a little while now, but never shared because I had only really opened it to play the first Portal game. I got a few cheapies during the holiday sales though, and will likely be getting some more games in the near-future since my saint of a buddy is donating his PC to me the week, as he's upgraded. Knowing the way he upgrades, I should be running hardware that was awesome a year ago. Once I hook that baby up to my TV I'm probably going to want to put it to the test. I'm thinking The Witcher 2 is probably a great test subject (next time I see it in a serious sale, with my broke ass), unless there is another visually badass and awesome RPG out there that might be better suited to my purposes. *sigh* As if I didn't have enough video games to play in my life.

  11. Jesus, it's like I had a disease last night that prevented me from making anything but a moronic face in pictures. That is actually one of the tamer ones. Luckily I found some like-faced individuals to stand near. I'm the asshole who looks like he was dipped in gold paint and poked in the anus, btw.
  12. Happy holidays to all! While it maybe seems like I'm only marginally active here, it's the forum I'm most active on, and certainly the one I spend the most time reading (lurking) when I'm not posting. It's one of the most useful links I've seen posted in a Kotaku comments section, it's a good thing I sifted through the angry posts that day. It was a timely transition, and one that I never look back from. Enjoy the next week everyone!
  13. If I'm actively feeding a troll and getting pleasure from it, does that make me a troll too?

    1. Johnny

      Johnny

      Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: It sounds like you're the real troll here. Unless the other guy is also just saying things in order to get a negative reaction out of folks.

      Haha true.

And yeah, I guess I was the real troll. The other guy was trolling really hard, but I suppose he was just one link below me in the troll-chain. I like to think I was trolling for good though. Or at least that's what I tell myself to keep the shame at bay.

  14. Yeah, that's a pretty common sentiment. It was mine until the end of the second show I went to, then I just snapped and realized I needed to be in that crowd of sweaty jumping people haha. I wound up stumbling into a ticket for their next show the night after that, and crammed like it was finals time. I was able to act the fool while singing along to a bunch of tunes I had just learned, and I never looked back. ....Sounds like I'll be telling that same story at a meeting one day, except it'll start with "Hi my name is..."
  15. My disgust is because I was listening to it thinking it was the new chocobo riding music, because I'm a totally gullible sap. I honestly didn't hate it until the lyrics started, and then I felt embarrassed for even wanting to play the game in the future, like people were already shaking their heads in disbelief. The chorus made me realize I was just listening to some band... The whole thing went down in about 25-30 seconds, and I was ok again. Knowing it for what it is, I don't mind the musical arrangement at all, it's even kinda slick at points. It's harder to warm up to the lyrics, and I doubt I ever ever ever will. It's not really a brand of humor I subscribe too, and if it's being sung with a straight face then it's even less for me than I suspected.
  16. Is anyone here lucky enough to be in on the Starhawk beta? I know you aren't supposed to talk, but please tell me if it's as fantastic as it looks...

Was that the code that came with Uncharted 3? I haven't used mine if you want it.

    3. FredEffinChopin

      FredEffinChopin

That sucks on the dud. Hopefully it's a matter that gets straightened out. And thanks for the offer Pojodin, but I'd feel guilty taking anything from anyone while I have such a backlog of games to get through. I think there might be some kind of UC3/Starhawk beta thing, but the one I was referring to yesterday was one that I saw IGN giving out codes for. Not sure what the whole beta story is...

I'm just happy to know the game is getting closer.

    4. Pojodin

      Pojodin

Oh, I see. This is a private beta as opposed to the public beta that starts later on. My bad. ^_^!

  17. ...... Dude, for some reason I actually thought that was going to be the chocobo music for the game. I was looking for something in the room to tie a noose around.
  18. The Sharpshooter is on sale for $19.99 at the moment on Amazon, in case anyone is interested. I don't know how long it'll be on sale for, I just happened to notice the price on the side when I was looking at the GOTY (or whatever they call it) edition of RE5. I just noticed Infamous 2 in a list earlier, I was surprised I hadn't heard about it. I'll need to do some reading.
  19. Wow, I completely forgot about RE5, thanks. I've never been a fan of the control scheme in the series, and so mostly left it alone aside from a brief stint with Nemesis back in the day. I think I'll give 5 a shot w/ Move though. I still have a few trophies left in Heavy Rain for the platinum, so I'm sure whenever I get around to it I'll be trying to do it with Move. I thought they did some fantastic work in tailoring the experience to a DS3, it should be interesting to see how it translates.
  20. Yeah man, the floor at a Gogol Bordello show always feels like it's about to buckle under the weight of all the jumping. As I get older I find myself in sweaty pits slightly less frequently when I go to shows, but GB will always be the exception. I can't sit and watch one of those shows without wanting to get in that crowd and let loose. *sigh* good times
  21. Thanks to Waldorf and Statler & HotHeart for getting my day started (I know, I'm a bum) with Gogol Bordello. On a side note, anyone who hears about this band coming to their town, I recommend buying up a ticket immediately, whether you already know the music or not. The live show is simply second-to-none. I've been to close to 10 of their shows already, and I'm sure I'll go to more in the future.
  22. ^^^^^^ You're Eugene Hutz?!?!!?! This really is the best forum around! I think that's my favorite tune off that album btw.... The whole thing is amazing though.
  23. So I got lucky. Snagged the nav controller for $15 on Amazon (it's currently listed at that price), and decided to ask any Move owning friends if theirs were collecting dust, and if they would want to sell it. Long story short, I spent $15 and now have two Move controllers and a nav. A gun too, though it's not the sharp shooter, which another friend of mine has been raving about with Killzone. This one keeps things awkwardly placed for face-button pressing... Anyway, I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying Sports Champions. For anyone wondering, having a second Move adds significantly to all 3 events that use it. The gladiator fights went from (IMO) utterly terrible to actually slightly engaging. Being able to move both arms independently is the way it's meant to be played, without a doubt. Being able to use one arm at a time in a fight with a sword and shield is incredibly cheap... Archery is far more realistic, but more difficult as well. I prefer it, but if I decided to start making a (highly unlikely) run for the platinum, I'll probably be single-handing that one. I guess volleyball isn't all that different, aside from making things feel more realistic, especially serving. I guess I don't know the full extent of the difference, as I started playing w/ two controllers after my first volleyball game, before I went through too much tutorial. So far that and disc golf are where I'm spending most of my time. Overall it's a nice little package to display how accurately these things work, and a good time. I was surprised to find out that I own 7 or so games that can be played with Move. Of those I've only tried Auditorium HD and High Velocity Bowling so far. The former was nice with the Move, and offered a slight edge, as you can sort of cheat your way through levels with the Move... It's hard to explain how, unless one knows how the game works. Still though, it wasn't a world of difference, and since the fun in that game is solving the puzzles, moving around doesn't make going through the motions of the game much more fun than with a controller. High Velocity Bowling was already a game that largely relied on motion control even with the DS3, so the difference in gameplay for that one is very minor. The major difference is how you apply spin, which is more difficult with the Move, but I suppose more realistic and immersive. Barely. Killzone should be here tomorrow, I'm looking forward to tooling around there when I get a chance. Has anyone encountered anything else worth checking out since this thread was last active? I'm considering No More Heroes.
  24. Yeah, I'm a bit concerned about that as well. While Uncharted is fun to play, I'd hate to find out that ND have it in their heads that with a good enough narrative they can just copy & paste Uncharted and expect it to keep working... Even if they can make it work for them, I'd be pretty let down.
