Man, Sony kinda dropped the ball. They're the only ones that bored us with unnecessary statistics and media bullshit. At some point I started worrying that it would end without Uncharted. But still, they wasted 30mins on bullshit and still had the best reveals. Grim Fandango on Vita is going to be soooo good!

It looks like the only thing that worked was the multiplayer. How many times have they scrapped and restarted this project that we know of? At least twice? Last time it was called Patriots or something. The demo was really cool but no multiplayer game is ever this coordinated in my experience, so I can't really get excited for it.

Well, yeah. I don't think Platinum have a single major hit to their name, sadly. Their biggest is most likely Rising and the Metal Gear brand probably had more to do with it.
-
Blood Dragon would completely steal the show from Far Cry 4 so I really doubt it. Was AC Comet ever confirmed?
-
Probably The Division again? It was weird how they showed two of their biggest games at the Microsoft presser, yeah. Definitely Far Cry. Maybe an actual announcement? I'm not getting my hopes up.
-
So far this has been fairly boring. I guess it's up to Sony to once again save E3? Or maybe Ninte-hahahahaahahahahaha!
-
Lol. Tried to sign up for the Hardline beta but battlefield.com died pretty much instantly. But man, that sure was an underwhelming press conference. Did they actually formally announce anything?
-
Seriously, at this point I'm wondering why they even bothered having a presser.
-
Man, so much early behind-the-scenes crap and it's only one hour? I'm really getting the impression they had very little to actually show...
-
Gahahaha, fucking nothing from Bioware. Not even titles or announcements. Guess EA needed something to fill out that hour? Jesus, what a joke.
-
So sports, Battlefield, Mirror's Edge, Dragon Age... what else? Mass Effect, maybe?
-
I don't know, man. I've come to really enjoy the intense levels of awkwardness E3 brings out of these companies. They somehow managed to not once mention TV, Netflix or Twitter. That's a little bit disappointing.
-
Well, I was right about the Platinum exclusive. Looked kinda weird, though. That was basically Dante in all but name and it gave off a weird Monster Hunter vibe. Looks like it might not be my kind of game at all. Otherwise, Tomb Raider is the biggest one for me. Oh and that Inside game from the Limbo guys looked pretty interesting. Will be grabbing that one when it inevitably comes to PC.

I wasn't aware the PS2 Classics version ran better, thanks for the heads up. From what I heard, the slowdown on PS2 was pretty bad. I'd still prefer a Rebirth kinda remake for Vita but if it runs better then maybe I'll check it out anyway. Fuck, now I kinda regret not getting it when it was five bucks a few weeks ago...

Dragon's Crown. Finished my first playthrough on normal. It seems there's a story context for NG+ for the next two difficulties but you're just redoing the second half of the game all over again so I'm counting it as beaten. So yeah, it's a really great brawler-RPG hybrid. This was my second Vanillaware game and they've yet to disappoint. I'm not sure which one I loved the most. I'm a big fan of Japanese period settings like Muramasa had and that game also had a vaguely metroidvania structure, which I'm all about. Then you've got Dragon's Crown which is kinda grindy and repetitive. You're essentially replaying the same 9 levels over and over again (although they all have a second route that opens up halfway through). But man, that gameplay is pure fun. It just never gets boring or tedious. I don't think I'll be putting this one down anytime soon. Also, as expected, the art direction is absolutely gorgeous. It's the usual Vanillaware visuals but they also really nailed the old-school fantasy setting. If you've ever looked at a D&D monsters manual, you'll recognize a bunch of really cool ones. There's a beholder and even fucking owlbears! I really need to play their other games now. I remember hearing rumors about both Odin Sphere and Muramasa getting HD remakes a few years ago and Muramasa turned out to be true so I really hope Odin Sphere Rebirth will be a thing in the near future. My Vita needs it.

You're not fooling anyone, Cowboy. We all know you'd still buy it.

Cool, Dead Rising 3 was spotted on Steam database. Wonder if MS will be publishing this version as well.

Well it's one of Capcom's biggest IPs. It would've made no fucking sense of them to let it be a true exclusive.
Kinda wish MS was still publishing, though. Would've left room to be optimistic about Quantum Break coming to PC as well.
-
Lol. Yeah, saw that earlier. Looks like I was spot on...
-
Oh yeah, I remember the Catherine one. What makes it even more baffling is that they sent a tease through their newsletter very soon after. Like, less than a week later, I think. I just can't comprehend what they could possibly have gained from that one. They knew their fans wanted the game so it just seems like toying with them for no reason.
-
Yeah, I think not just lying but lying about something like DLC, which can be a really touchy subject, was downright stupid of them. It's one thing to lie about "Yeah, no, we're totally not showing that rumored game at E3 next week " but when you say something along the lines of "No, we're not planning DLC. We're focused on giving you a complete package" then you announce a bunch of DLC a few weeks later, it just makes you look bad.
-
Not one but three DLCs announced for Dark Souls II. Season pass is already live on Steam for 25$. I'm not going to lie, this kind of bothers me a little. Not that there is DLC at all but that they blatantly lied about its existence. Not so long ago, someone from From completely dismissed the mere suggestion of DLC when asked about it. This is coming out pretty soon, so clearly it's been in development for some time. I don't know, just kinda makes me want to not pay full price for it out of principle. I'm already done with the game and moved on anyway, so I guess I'll just wait until they've all come out and get it on sale.

Microsoft: - I see it going one of two ways: either they actually get their head out of their ass and show good new games or they go full retard and double down on all that multimedia crap no one cares about. I kinda hope it's the latter because, honestly, I really enjoyed the slow-motion train wreck they had going last year. Come on, Microsoft! Tell us all about how you totally still got TV! - Rumors of Platinum exclusive will turn out to be true, if only because that would annoy the shit out of me. - Will also probably have bought at least another exclusive that will piss me off. Sony: - The Last Guardian now a PS4 title. Still never coming out. - Uncharted PS4 gameplay reveal - God of War PS4 (was already teased on twitter, what remains to be seen is whether it's a PS3 Remaster or a new title) - At least 3 new AAA exclusives - Will barely acknowledge the Vita during their presser and if they do it'll be as a glorified PS4 accessory Nintendo: - Will further dig themselves into that hole of theirs. - Will find new ways to become irrelevant - Will not announce a new Metroid because, you know, people would actually be excited about that - Fire Emblem x Shin Megami Tensei still M.I.A. Not a chance in hell/wishful thinking: - Bravely Default and Shin Megami Tensei IV Vita ports announced - Halo Collection coming to PC alongside Xbone release - Persona 5 details

Also, looks like it slipped to 2015.

I've been meaning to get Dragon's Crown for a while and finally decided to go for it since it was on sale and I've pretty much exhausted my backlog of physical Vita games. Ys just happened to also be on sale. It's the lowest I've ever seen it go for and I've been getting the impression that it's getting harder to find (seems to only be available from marketplace sellers on Amazon.ca and most of them are a tad overpriced) so I figured I might as well grab it now.

I started playing Tales of Symphonia a couple days ago. It's not a bad game by any means but man, the story is boring the shit out of me. :/ The opening was fine but now, a little under 10 hours in, there's only been one other section so far where it was actually interesting. Otherwise, most of the time the characters are talking and all I can think is "Oh my god, I don't care!!". I really hope it picks up soon because otherwise I don't think I could endure 50 hours of this shit. It's kind of a shame because the combat is kinda fun. If the story was more compelling, I could see myself really getting into it. I've been trying to soldier on and keep playing in hope that it gets better but I always end up turning it off and going back to grind in Disgaea 3 instead...
