Games You've Bought Episode MMXX: Revenge of the Backlog

Thank you GOG.com -
In the opposite direction, I wish games would go away from the incessant hand-holding that they seem to offer to players nowadays. Give me an option to select a 'I've played a game before' option or something.

Isn't this the one where you stole a load of assets? -
Would it be possible to get Nintendo Friend codes added in place of WiiU ID in the users profile thing?

I believe the game has to be above £14 for it to be eligible. -
What happened? I think we should start to coordinate our prices via Discord?

Rear Window meets Firewatch = TAKE MY MONEY! -
So... We all saw that dripping dick in the Scorn trailer right? Or has the internet ruined my brain?

I made over 2.5m on the turnip market last week after finding a friend on Discord who had T@T buying at close to 600 bells per 'nip. I used most of that money to pay off the loan on my third room, and the rest was used to move a few things around on the island, send Danielle some for her island (she bought a Switch Lite for A/C) and then, you know.....buy more turnips. The plan is this: Earn enough money on turnips that I don't have to log into the game every day (which is hard when my time is limited), and thus remove the stress that comes from a game like this. Once my house is paid for I feel like I can relax and enjoy slowly building my little island paradise.

Damn was Astral Chain a massive disappointment to me. -
Animal Crossing? I did the thing, but obviously I've got no plans to hang up my flimsy axe just yet.

Not sure if anyone of here is into this sort of thing but I've found a few handy websites that make navigating the games....user created content vacuum a bit easier. Nook Island They offer a catalogue of user-uploaded designs that you can add into your game via the kiosk in Able Sisters. Why this isn't built into the game I don't know (I do know; Nintendo) but it absolutely should be. https://acpatterns.com/editor This tool lets you upload pretty much anything into the game in the form of shirts, wall art, paths etc etc. I uploaded a rather glorious image of Jeremy Corbyn to use as my islands flag. It's not perfect (and you need the Nintendo app on your phone to use it) but again, in place of Nintendo offering this sort of thing it's a pretty decent gap-fill. https://nookazon.com/ What if someone combined Animal Crossing's catalogue of items; Furniture, Items, Recipes etc etc.....and Amazon? You'd get this. Truth be told, I've not really had a chance to dive into it yet, but if you're desperate for that mother-fucking-iron chopping board then this is likely your best bet of getting it without having to go down the reddit hole.

I'd be down for something like that. Big problem I've found with the game so far is that no one on my fucking friends list is ever open for business.

I'm a bit of a novice to all of this. Does Fish Bait have some meaningful effect on what you can catch?

This Country The series came to an end this week and I'll be honest, we're really going to miss it. We first discovered the show 2-3 weeks after Mila was born. That was not a fun time to be in our household, but This Country really helped us through. We binged the first two seasons over the course of a weekend whilst Mila was being a newborn around us and everything we did felt like the wrong thing. So it's with a heavy heart I say bye to the show that's given me and Danielle so many enjoyable moments over the last 2 years. Thankfully they went out on top, a class show right until the very end.

I started playing through Headmaster last night (PSVR) and for a game with such a simple concept (head the ball into the net) it's incredibly satisfying. The core gameplay feels kinda awesome, and like any good VR game, I've been told you look like an absolute moron whilst doing it (Source: Danielle, on the sofa to my left). It's got a little of that Portal 2/Stanley Parable about it, so we'll see how well they handle that because I tend to find it's a very fine line between funny and annoying when it comes to that sort of comedy.

We've got the PSVR + Move set up and honestly, for what we need out of a VR headset it's pretty great. Give me a brand new PC and an Index and I'm not sure I'd use it anymore than I do the budget option. -
There's absolutely a risk of that. I've fallen foul of it myself a few times. I start super strong, constantly getting new things and generally being super enthused about the entire process. Eventually the chill vibe of the game turns into a bit of a grind for 'the feeling' of unlocking something new, and at that point I usually disembark. That being said though, the game is something really unique in its nature, and it's absolutely perfect for where we are right now.

Been eyeing this one for a while (it's a VR game). -
Animal Crossing I've said this before but holy fuck did I need this game right now. Everywhere I look it's fucking scary as shit, but Animal Crossing is allowing me to step back and chill the fuck out. COD: WARZONE I dunno. It's like a weird spot between PUBG and APEX. Which also means it holds a weird spot in my heart. I'm enjoying it, but it's not as much fun as APEX, and Solo's mode gives me the same tension filled half an hour that PUBG did, but also it doesn't do that as well either. Given that it's a COD game, it's well presented and the shooting is fine, it's just maybe a little too deep in the COD aesthetic for my own taste. Also for anyone who knows what this means; I fucking hate the load-out system. Get that shit out of my BR.

The Suicide of Rachel Foster It's a walking simulator in the mold of something like Gone Home; lot's of picking things up, lots of wondering around a giant house (in this case it's an old hotel). The story isn't nearly as subtle as Gone Home (which in itself wasn't all that subtle in the first place), the voice acting is up and down and the games core method of delivering it's plot is a contrived and forced; leaving you wondering why everything in this 'scary' place feels so very staged. It's fine I guess? I appreciate what it was going for, more than I do the the end product. With all that being said.... They put Hockey and more specifically, my team captain in the game. So 11/10 GOTY2020.

Can I ask why? I consider myself fairly well informed on the US election (at least compared to your average Brit) but surely even a Joe Biden is preferable to another 4 years of Trump? I totally understand people going hard against the likes of Biden, Bloomberg and Mayor Pete but I've got to wonder if it's not better to be 'anyone but Trump' at this point? Especially with the way the dude seems to be riding high in the polls?

Annapurna can do no wrong at the moment, and I'm a massive fan of the tiny/huge puzzle thing they've got going on in the trailer.
